Utsuho's attacks are just so.. mesmerizing. They distract you with big glowing things while swarming you with tiny shots. She always gives me the hardest time out of any touhou boss, except maybe Kanako, even though she really doesnt seem that difficult

I'm in the 3%. I've played a couple of them, but I haven't studied the patterns and practiced to this extent. Good danmaku players are always a spectacle to behold.

Utsuho's final spell is kind of like a black hole - as it gobbles up the bullets, which stand in for matter, it starts spewing out bullets, just like a black hole would spew out long jets of energy thousands of light years across. It's pretty amazing how science and touhou can compliment each other in weird ways. that no one else ever noticed.

When they made Spiderman 3, they created new visual effects software to animate all of the grains of sand that made up the Sandman, as no existing software could handle animating that many individual objects at once. The special effects team had clearly never played Touhou.
Perfect touhou plays do not need an umbrella, grazing every raindrop and get wet except for a small region on their head. Don't let them drive, or they think about grazing other cars all the time.

Played IN and can 1cc it on easy even when tired/drunk Started playing MoF yesterday and almost 1cced it on the fith attempt before the final spell card of the final boss got me. This though I cannot even finish - and I am talking about easy mode with all of the games here. IN: Easily stage 5 on Normal MoF: Tricky, but make it to stage 4 This? I cannot even clear it on easy even WITH continues. Homing shit all over the place, micrododging at its finest and incredible projectile speed even at this level. Heck, the 5th boss is at around the same if not a higher level than the final bosses of the other two.... Nice job mate and congrats for avoiding bombing.
Also a quick tip for homing bullets: If you're constantly under homing fire then you need to move as slowly as you can sideways and if you can't anymore make a quick gap by flying really fast to said side. If you did it right you made a gap and you can (slowly) dodge the homing bullets again by moving to the other side. ..I hope that my explanation was clear enough.
+Tormentor I actually struggled more with MoF easy. I could lose no lives and Virtue of the Wind God would still kill me. SA on easy was fine except stage portion of Stage 5. Fricking popcorn hell.

If you look at Utsuho's spells on the macroscale it's like OMGOMGOMGWTFWTF but if you pay attention to the small area around you and what's important in your vicinity all of her actual spellcards consist mostly of slowly-moving bullets with much smaller hitboxes than their appearances. Doesn't make it EASY, but once you can separate the action on the whole screen from what you need to care about most of the games are quite easier to swallow. Some of the bosses say fuck you anyway and give you horrid shit on macro and micro scale in dual measure. Like Kanako, that bitch.

Frithiof Hellgren ZUN's philosophy is that if you can beat a game after only 20 tries, the game isn't hard enough. Were you playing on Easy mode, perhaps? You might get a bad end unless you 1CC normal or higher.
