Respected Sardar Sahab, I am surprised by the false statements made by you and Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa on countering Mr. Rahul Gandhi's statement on Sikh Articles of Faith. Unfortunately Hon'ble Minister Sardar H.S.Puri is totally unaware of ground reality. Sikh Students all over India are forced to remove their "Kara" before entering Examination Centres. This happens every year and my Advocate colleague's children have faced the same harassment. Not only Kara, they are required to remove their Kirpan and Turban/ Dumalla (in Karnataka). And surprisingly it has happened in Haryana and Punjab too. Even though in many Judgments the Delhi High Court has directed various Authorities not to impose any restrictions on Sikh Students wearing their Articles of Faith, yet the Security Officers at Exam Centres force them to remove their Articles of Faith in the last moment. Because this happens at the last moment while entering the examination Hall, Students & their Parents are shocked and sometimes have to remove the same as they have no Redressal at the last moment. I am surprised that you are not aware of this fact even though DSGMC has been a party in these Court proceedings and Mr. Sirsaji Ex-President is knowingly acting ignorant of this fact. Know the ground reality and ensure that various Ministries of Government of India know about our Articles of Faith and stop harassing Students and Amritdhari Gursikhs. Many Amritdhari Gursikhs are stopped at Metro Stations too. Mr. Rahul Gandhi has spoken of Ground reality. Your Offices should find remedial measures to stop this harassment faced by Sikhs.
