1983 LT125 was the FIRST 4 wheel ATV. They do about 40mph. They are rated at 11HP.
It is 125CC, not 110.
These things are bulletproof if you keep oil in it and do some minimal maint. Most trouble starting/running is because of a plugged up air filter or fouled out plug.
The whole thing probably weighs 300lbs max. If you have the proper tires on it they will float(without a rider)
The shifting thing is only weird if you have never been on one before. Some people think it is weird not to need a clutch.
These things are great as starters for younger kids, and still fun for the parents. if your kid rolls it over on themselves, they will just push it off of them and roll it back over. Not really a rock crawler, more for smooth trails or open ground. Really popular in the midwest on dairy farms that had plenty of hay fields to go flying around. Plenty fast for what they are to have a lot of fun, tell the kids no going past third gear and plenty safe too.
I grew up on a quad just like that. We broke the front of the frame in 2 because it had no suspension. Still very fun we rode it till the wheels fell off.

Had a 185, since has probably rotted out in a field somewhere but it was pretty fast and had no rear suspension… it did have shocks on the front but they didn’t do much. Fun machine though 👍
185 was super reliable! hopefully somebody still uses it!
@@WeTryMotorsports I hope so, but I think its in the family junk yard. Probably sent there to die because it was a pull start. If i could find it i bet the seat is gone and the plastics are gone. Would probably still start though 😆

I guess it all depends on what you grew up with. My Honda ATC110 has a very similar shift pattern, except even from neutral to 1st you would push the shift lever down. They were a 4 speed, with a high/low range lever making it an 8 speed. No reverse. As a young kid it was a lot nicer to be able to shift up by pushing down. Most of the early ATV’s didn’t have front brakes. Same with no suspension, it was all absorbed by the low pressure tires. In those early days, they were simple machines. Front brakes and suspension was a luxury. And we towed a lot with those little machines. They moved a lot of stuff and it was way better than having to push a wheelbarrow. Sure was handy to use to run out to the fields to check crops or fence, plus being able to haul a second person to or from machinery in a field. I honestly miss these old simpler machines. Would way rather have one of these old timers than have to pay an arm and a leg for the new big gas guzzlers with all the fancy electronics and power steering to go wrong. I still use my ATC110 to this day. Runs forever on a gallon of gas. That Suzuki you have will last a very long time. Glad to see you’re giving it some love.
i have a 1983 alt125D pretty sweet never new they made three wheelers until i got mine lol. pretty fun goes about 30 rev is nice to have

I redid the piston and cylinder on that exact same setup. I'm certain you will have it running fairly easily
@@MichaelKnight-s2y fortunately, all I had to do was rebuild the fuel pump and carburetor. It runs like a dream forward and reverse! What a blast to ride!
Had one of these as a teen, fun fact they actually would float on water because of the Giant tires!!!
Had this as a kid. Takes me back. Terrible turning radius because there was no front weight. Good for wheelies though!

The Suzuki LT125 Quadrunner (also known as the Suzuki QuadRunner 125[1]) was an all-terrain vehicle produced by Suzuki and developed in Whanganui, New Zealand by Rod Coleman. When it was introduced alongside the ALT125 ATC in 1982, it was the first four-wheeled ATV on the market.[2] It had a pull start (no electric starter at all) 124 cc (7.57 cu in) engine, which had a claimed power output of 8.3 kW (11.1 hp) at 7,000 RPM.[3] The power was transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse....what are you on about 110cc....suzuki didn't make a 110 .

Does it run good on trails mine got fixed but I never seen it run
depends where you're at if it's Rocky it's going to be a bumpy one but otherwise it's a great fun ATV

I put a predator motor on the frame and made plastics outta spray foam...gonna go back with bondo and fiberglass
