Dear Norah,
It is such a pleasure to hear you sing. You have such a unique voice, and your musical talent is so unmatched.
You know, back in 2002, I boarded a train from Chennai (Madras India) for home (Mizoram). I had a ticket which was valid only upto Asansol (West Bengal). The train was packed and it was near impossible to get a confirmed ticket beyond West Bengal. On reaching West Bengal early in the morning, I had to vacate my seat as another passenger who had booked the very seat I was in had boarded the train from West Bengal. So, from morning I just stood or sat near the latrine hoping to get an extention of my ticket from a TTE. Luckily, two days before leaving Chennai I had bought your first album 'Come Away With Me' as there was a Hank Williams cover song 'Cold, cold heart' (btw Hank Williams Sr is one of my all time favourites). Ticketless, I started listening to your songs on my walkman all day long. I realised then you were a unique artist, and from then on I keep listening to you every now and then.
That whole day, sitting and standing near the latrine with people passing by every minute or two, I kept listening to you to distract myself from the circumstances I was in. If it had not been for your songs/album, that day would have been very intolerable. Fortunately, at around 9PM, I was able to secure a seat in one of the AC compartments, and I finally reached my destination safely and without further trouble.
So Norah, I know I can never thank you enough, but thank you so much for your music and for making a terrible day in 2002 feel less longer than it really was.

A couple of years ago I used to listen to Little Broken Hearts album over and over again. I was living the end of twenty-years relationship and I felt those songs so close to my sorrow. After the fall (this performance I mean) gave me chills. No, no chills, I was kind of trembling to tell the truth
