I don't think every student gets a choice on how to do their capstone and it depends on the school and program and what requirements they have. If a choice was given for every program with every school, the best option would be to get an internship. Real work experience that translates in the job world.

As a MSN Administration student, I want to research Legal Nurse Consultants and Expert Witness. I don't have a clue where to begin. I have articles, but how do I write proposals for this capstone project idea? Any ideas?
Yeah.... so... that may have been the intention of a capstone project but this is not what it is. The school I'm going to flat out said we are NOT allowed to use our own work or experiments and MUST take everything we do from already completed work. It's a research project and it's to get through a college program. Keep in mind, college has zero to do with learning skills you will need. College is focused around learning to take orders from those over you even if (especially if) those orders are ridiculous and soul crushing. This video would be a lot more helpful if it showed how to actually get through the project rather than pretending it's something that it's not.
@Laguna A That you need college to get a decent job or to have "lifelong enrichment" is one of the lies colleges tell you. I have been a Chief Information Security Officer for a financial firm for 4 years and I only received a degree 3 months ago. Of the people I've worked with, the ones WITHOUT degrees are the best employees by far. I only really know IT but I can tell you college does nothing for them, if anything it makes things harder. Colleges still teach Java, they don't teach open source, they focus on 'ideal' business rather than what's in the real world. They hire educators to teach who have NEVER had a job other than education. It's a paper saying you know how to follow orders, not how to work.
