I can't help but start crying when I hear the banging and then the first few notes...... brings back a LOT of happy memories of a time where anything was possible.
Anything is still possible! You simply have to believe and make it so. Never, ever give up on your dreams. "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Bless this thread. And never let that spark inside of you burn out. There will be ups and downs in life, as I’m sure you well know by now, and they’ll threaten to extinguish it, but don’t freaking let them. Keep that youthful hope and at least some of your innocence, and remember that just about anything is still possible.
I drove a really really worn out pickup truck for a job of mine. Sometimes when I was at a red light about to launch the poorly running 6 cylinder silverado I would play this song right as the light turned green. Made for some fun memories with that old truck.
I know exactly what you mean. Those bright, cheery, 60s-70s Hollywood musicals that just used to get you in a good mood. Chatty Chitty Bang Bang, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, The Music Man, to name a few...
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Love Bug were my two favorite movies as a kid, and now that I own a car of my own that I really love, sometimes I’ll play the theme songs from those movies and just revel in the nostalgia, as well as the sheer joy and freedom of driving across the open road, wherever adventure takes you.
this movie is so amazing I wish more people have watched it I love this movie with all my heart. It just reminds me of when I was little dancing around and singing the lyrics loudly with my family in the room and ugh so nostalgic
When I was 5 (2004) my family would go to the Big Library in Winnipeg, and we would take out videos to watch. This was one the first movies remember actually sitting down and watching. (That and Jaws) Glad it's apart of my childhood.
My mom grew up with the book so likewise she didn’t particularly care for the movie - which I loved, given it was a very different experience entirely… I found out recently the screenplay was written by Roald Dhal which explains a lot, including why it’s so similar in tone to Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory based on his own book and which I believe he also helped with…

Coris: Christian, Cannon is starting to look a little nauseous. Christan: I don't know, Dad but he looks fine. Don't you cannon? Cannon's engine: (this plays)
old cars used to have something called "backfires", where the fuel would ignite in the wrong place in the engine. modern cars have better designed engines
That's that good old racing V16 under the hood backfiring. For a car Built in 1907, Chitty was one of the fastest automobiles of her time, with a top speed of 143 mph
*I noticed in my UA-cam history, a friend searched for this. Im not sure the track, but it's the furthest from what I play. No offense to the artists.*
It would help if somebody was singing the song, I love chitty chitty bang bang but I have seen it a million times and this song has people singing in it, please have somebody singing and instead of havig a boring old picture have lyrics or a clip or something that is better than just a picture of this. More effort coukd be involved!
This is the main theme track. There are multiple versions of the main theme played throughout the movie; which you should know if you have seen it a million times. Please see the rest of the tracks in this set for the version with lyrics. This isn't about "effort," this is about supplying you with the full soundtrack, which this person has done.

Haha I love that.
Did you pretend that the truck sprouted wings and propellers like the car in the movie?
They don't make films this bright anymore, y'know what I mean? This was a film that was happy and fun with no need for anything else.
I know exactly what you mean. Those bright, cheery, 60s-70s Hollywood musicals that just used to get you in a good mood. Chatty Chitty Bang Bang, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, The Music Man, to name a few...
One of Dick Van Dyke’s very best performances along with Mary Poppins.

Can't believe this was written by Ian Fleming and the film screenplay by none other than children's author Roald Dahl (of all people!)
One of the best soundtracks of all time!!😀👍💥💋❤
I get goosebumps from this. Who else gets that?

This is legendary. I'm crying 😭👏
Was singing this song on my way to Thanksgiving dinner. The car sounded just like Chitty. lol
The banging noise always brings a smile of excitement to my face, but the strings and the horns at 0:38 to 0:42 give me goosebumps.

100%. It at least makes me really, really happy to know that others have the same fond nostalgia for it that I do.
