- This how to install a DreamLine Sliding Glass Shower Door. I'll go step by step on how to install this shower door on top of the DreamLine acrylic shower pan or any shower base for that matter.
The door isn't very complicated to figure out if you go through the instructions, but it can still be a little intimidating so I hope this video helps. There were a couple parts that the instructions could have been more clear on (such as the sliding rail brackets) but I got through it and go through it.

One tip, if you have not tiled your shower walls yet - place a stud where your door will be located. This will make the whole thing much more structurally sound.

Wanted to change where I put my comment. Asking about a 76 height doors working on a 72 height base and walls. Drywall at top, walls do not go all the way up to ceiling thanks in advance. Other measurements are good far as width
A tip from someone who installed one of these. Put a small bead of clear caulk around the bottom edge of the bottom guide rail to prevent water leaks. I didn't the first time I installed it and had to remove the doors because water leaked around the bottom guide rail. I did the same thing on all four wall profile bumbers to help keep then secure. Don't turn any of the screws too tight to prevent stripping.

Great video. Contractor installed mine. When the glass roller came loose, couldn't figure out how to adjust it. In your installation steps you showed how to attach it, and that explained everything I needed to do to flip the cap off and tighten the screw. Thanks so much for your frustration saving video.
Your video helped me soooo much! I was so phyched out of thinking I could actually install these doors. But I got it done with your help! If I had to rely solely on the package instructions I would not have had a pleasant experience.
Just interesting note, I’m not sure if any caulk actually “glued” the side rails to the wall because of the deep channel (per the instructions), but oh well. 😀👍

Good job! My contractor installed ours, the only thing confusing us is the water guard strips. He slid them on the ends of the doors which didn’t allow the glass to slide in the slots at the bottom. I think we really just need one in the center anyways. The frame is too thick for them on the ones we choose! Thanks for the video!
You can put the threshold guide on last it makes getting the doors in much more easily

The glass installation is kicking my ass
You have to prop up one side of the top rail with a 2x4. Its in the instructions but they describe it as a way to get the doors into the shower under the rail. But you need that 2x4 there so the inside door in particular has room to slip into the bottom rail slot

Our handyman omitted cleaning glass with alcohol and applying Silicone Adhesive RTV 108 when installing M 6053 roller brackets onto top of glass panels. He tightened screws securely but outside panel slipped down and rides on bottom channel . Will need to redo entire installation, but not rehanging panels for 24 hours while RTV 108 cures. Apparently soft plastic grommet compresses and loosens grip plus adhesive is essential and must have cure time to hold against weight of glass panels.
i noticed water under my bottom railing after showering, not dripping back to the shower pan/base, anyone got this same issue? Dreamline is saying "Shower base thresholds are pitched inward slightly allow water to roll back into the shower", well not the case for mine...
Was the bottom of the shower perfectly level? We have the same one and ours is about 1/8th inch off from being level. Was wondering if you had the same issue, the manufacturer states there is no room for adjustment and the tub needs to be perfectly level.
What caulk did you use for the rails?
So does the top rail remain unsecured, or the weight of the doors holds it down?
This is my question as well...
I am installing it right now. Ready to hang the doors. Looks like the weight of the doors and the caulking will hold it in place. I was surprised when I got to this step that there are no mechanism to secure it.
I have a problem with opening and closing the door is very difficult to open and close do you have any idea what to do
I had that issue at first and should've went more in detail on this, but there's 2 adjustment clips at the top of each door where the rollers are. Pop off the metal casing and adjust the screws. Instructions will say which direction to turn to raise or lower the door, you probably need to raise the door.
@@KellyConcepts Thanks for the reply I have already tried but nothing is happening the Installation Guide says "Do Not turn the Roller Assembly adjustment bolt
more than 4 rotations" with 4 rotations nothing significant happens

Hey Samantha. I had the same issue. I think there is a design issue with these doors….there just is NOT enough clearance between the bottom of the door and the bottom guide so they rub. I raised the top rail just a bit by inserting 2 nickels in between the bracket on the wall and the top rail and VOILA….it works perfectly!
@@samanthabondo5475 did you find a solution? After maxing out the adjustment screws I had to put an 1/8” spacer on the top rail on both sides to raise the doors up, caulked the gap and called it good.

Thanks for the video. I was curious how you hung the doors. The manual I downloaded from the HD website says to put the roller brackets on the upper track first, then put the rail on, then block up the glass with 5/16 spacers and attach them to the roller brackets. The manual sent with the door shows doing it the way you did, put the roller brackets on the glass first, and then pivot them into the propped up rail. I noticed the online manual is version 2 (102022) and the one that came is version 1 rev 7a (112020). So I'm going to guess that the later online manual shows the easier way to do it.
That's why this video isn't a good one to follow. Notice the video stopped before the second glass door was installed.. Follow the instructions from the manual. You'll need two people and make sure to leave the corner protectors on until the glass is fully hung!
at minute 7:20 there should be a pic of the gap in the slot where the wheel easily slips into the track. If you try to install and don't get the wheel in at the location where there is a gap, it WILL NOT GO IN. Took a while to figure that out.

It doesn’t take long. You can do the whole thing in a few hours. If you don’t have everything you need it will take longer.
Having trouble right now getting that 2nd door on the track
I just ordered the exact same one. Can you tell me how wide the rails for the shower door are approximately . There was nothing in the PDF on the manufacturer's site for how thick that threshold is
I am installing one right now ... they are 2 3/8".

Great video! Your videos have given us inspiration on how we would like our bathroom to look. I almost went with the dreamline shower pan but ultimately went with a delta due to price. However, I do plan to use the dreamline shower doors. Can I ask why you went with the Encore line instead of the Infinity-Z? Thanks!

Tessa isn't entirely invested in what I do here so it's just MY channel for now lol! I've always wanted an electric gun but I feel like I'm getting a good flow with caulking these days without tape and don't want to ruin that. Thanks for checking it out Poor Man!

Do I have to buy a dreamline shower base or are the doors interchangeable. Like could I use another brand door with a different brand shower base ? Thanks
the doors are interchangeable. You can mix match any brands you'd like

I was remodeling my parents bathroom and we bought exact same shower door and tub…….I finished everything and it looks really nice but the sliding door that’s “inside the bathtub” at certain points door is not sliding smooth. As if guide rail is scrapping against the metal in the back of wheels. I was trying to adjust adjustment bolt but by the time I saw not to turn it more than 4 times on instructions I’ve already turned it like 20 times. I believe the screw is defected now. Is there anything that can be done with this or am I just way better off purchasing new “Roller Assembly”??? Please help because am sooo frustrated am going to take a hammer and break this damn door…..
