Personally that pill shape is one of the reason for me to love Xiaomi bands. I really love that unique disign
A lot of healthcare workers wear smart bands as a pendulum around their neck since it's not allowed to wear wrist watches or other jewelry on your hands and arms because of hygiene reasons. It's a great feature to have.
I'm not in healthcare but I'm pretty sure I destroyed my samsung watch by getting soap and or hand sanitizer on it (the glue holding it together dissolved), so I'm really excited about the pendant option

I like its shape since it doesn't get in the way of equipment like kettlebells, handwraps and boxing gloves that often although it does sometimes. Unlike bigger, wider bands or rounded smartwatches.

The size is one of it's unique feature being comfortable to wear, and not that bothering even during sleep, other bands make it way uncomfortable because of the sizes, plus it is way better without a button, I don't find the button having any significance, it will ruin the design and might get damaged, so not a good idea.

I actually like the pill shape, but I wish they'd done something to the original band, because they always end up breaking within a year. Also I quite like PAI, so I think I'll stick to my 7 for now.
Does it have NFC, if yes, can it be used with third party apps for home automation?

As a long distance mountain biker I still love my Mi Band 6. The strap on the new band is a big no-no for me. I need durable silicone.
Yeah, I love their silicon straps. TPU is kinda bad..
Just get another strap for it
Stick on to MB6 if you use text to speech function of the app. MB8 requires new app and does not support text to speech.

The Mi band straps did loose me already 2 Mi bands. A very bad design in my opinion. Further, I really dont understand why Xiaomi does not include naps in the total night sleep or at least let me make that decision if I want it or not. So for now I stick to Huawei which also has very competitive watches.

I have a Mi band 6... The differences with the 8 are so small. Okay, screen/battery is bigger, some minor software changes..
The running/pebble mode and ambient sensor are new. I don't think I'm going to use the running mode, I want to see my heart rate too.
I also noticed that they are still using the crappy straps. It will break in about 4 months.
Should I buy the new version 8?! I don't know really... Nothing really new or different.
Well, auto brightness is one of the features that pushed me to buy this band cause I used to struggle looking at the time when I am out on the sun, and the sun is bright and I have to go find the settings to increase the brightness while not seeing properly, the straps are easier to remove, it also has an always on display option, and as you said a bigger screen.

Xiaomi Continuing Pill Shape Display With Xiaomi Band Due to its pill shape success and xiaomi already introduced new regular display shape that is named as mi band 4c later pill shape design continued in mi band 5 and mi band 4c has renamed as redmi band and now redmi band lineup has regula display xiaomi band lineup has pill shape display.
I wish this launches in India, it’s a shame that the mi band series suddenly disappeared from India..

@@beetroot7156 Fire Boltt, Noise, Pebble, Boat and all those fake smartwatch brands completely obliterated the fitness band market which was already pretty niche. The only one i can find now are Amazfit and Fitbit
