1. Is this a standard Mercedes-Benz feature or is it an after-market add-on (I see a big sticker in the rear passenger door that implies that the feature may have been installed by a third-party).
2. This is cool. Does it mean that if I remote start the engine and get in the car, I will need to put the key into the key port (to keep the engine running) while driving away?

This will work depending on which country standards your Merc fall under, the remote start works on most Merc under the American standards if you can see some of their Merc even have a Punic button which some country's like Australia don't have I don't know if you can order that tho
