I assume Basil will start as a villain in the game, but later on would help Warrin and Chief as the game goes on. I think Dmitri would be an anxious yet calm dog, however I think Jasper and Clancy would be violent yet afraid in the game. I also think some of the mutated dogs (except Chief) are escaped experiments and they may try to either help us who is kidnapping the dogs or they may just attack us due to being scared.

I therorize basil would probably die in the end or somewhere else in the story I feel like this red splotch on his body would maybe foreshadow basil's death judging by how aggressive and harsh the song named after him sounds i think it's gonna be used for some sort of confrontation with basil like as a mini boss or full on boss he also had blood dripping from his mouth it could either be him coughing up blood judging by the red splotch on his body looking like its a internal problem or it's a blood from a confrontation he had with a person or another dog Also in his sprite animations he barely moved while standing up like he was having trouble breathing On how he would die i think it'll either be A: Basil Sacrifices Himself To The Other Mutated Dogs So The Protagonist Can Escape Or B: Basil Gets Old Yellered "Aka Shot By The Protagonist Or Another Character" Dimitri was also used frequently not as much with basil Maybe There is gonna be a confrontation with Basil and Dimitri? I think the Circumstances of how basil will die will be similar to how old yeller will die I won't mention it for nothing In old yeller: the title character rescues his family from a rabid wolf but unfortunately he gets bitten and contracted rabies and became aggressive so his family decided to shoot old yeller to put him out of his misery My Theory With Missing Dogs: Basil Successfully Killed Or Scare Off Dimitri Or Another Mutated Dog But Unfortunately Basil Had Fully Lost His Original Personality And Became Aggressive Towards Everyone And The Protagonist Or Another Character Puts Him Out Of His Misery I could be wrong BUT HEY THAT'S JUST A THEORY A GAME THEORY "yes i stole that from matpat"
i think the attention to basil is because hes implied to be the first encounter of the game, being "corrupted" before chief, (k-9 video shows basil in the woods staring with red eyes at chief and warren), basil seems innocent in other videos, but he makes harm on his way, so i think the outcome would be that you need to put the dogs down to stop their suffering, since most of the dogs if not all of them are impossible to go back to their normal forms for a big number of reasons on each, while trying to discover who or what is transforming the dogs into monsters.
I also agree I feel like Chief would also be non aggressive because she also doesn't seem aggressive judging by her sprites just traumatized and injured

If there is non-aggressive and aggressive dogs, I think lulu will be non aggressive
I agree she would probably not be able to attack properly due to her bulging eye constantly falling
