Last playthrough I tried the Black Mountain and Monorail skip and it worked out reasonably well for me, though I encountered an oddity: on my way towards the NCR embassy after receiving the note from Crocker, I was stopped and harassed by an NCR MP. My guess is the event triggered because I had zero positive rep with them and the condition for it doesn't check if your rep is completely neutral. Just about every playthrough I've done it the normal way and thus likely stopped at some point beforehand to acquire some NCR rep, or in some cases pissed them off before reaching Vegas and thus being hassled would be expected, so this caught me off-guard. The "best" part is if you run past them to avoid triggering the dialogue and enter the embassy, they'll aggro and turn everyone against you if they catch up to you inside the embassy building. So at that point to avoid accidentally softlocking the NCR ending I'd already decided I wanted to go for that run, I had to quickly run back out of the building and locked myself into paying the toll they demanded...
@@crave115 Ah, I just looked at the dialogue in GECK, looks like it's actually checking the Strip's reputation rather than NCR rep. Given I got the chip via carving a bloody swath through the Tops...yeah, that's explain a lot.
How am I now just noticing the typo in the intro... It's literally the first 2 seconds😭
Typo in the intro, don’t know how you missed it’s literally the first 2 seconds but intros still fire 🔥
Bro💀

I've never had that happen before, but New Vegas works in strange ways, every playthrough always has a unique oddity or glitch.
