I like vital more for softer sounds, texture, pads... Serum is very solid, so I use it more in base sounds, now layering them I haven't tried... What about a video about what you look for sound character and what synths you use for what sounds? Love your insights and perspective!

Yeah i guess serum won this one but i bet you could easily make the vital sound more like the serum by putting some outside plugins there like distortion + OTT or something like that.
I try to keep everything in Serum and Vital to compare them fairly. But it‘s true you can get it really similar with more plug ins on them.
I hear more noise oscillator in the original. I'd personally notch some of the harsh frequency out of the Vital version, add some white noise, and bring distortion down by a tiny bit. Or maybe OTT out a touch of the harshness 🤔 awesome comparison, by the way 🤘❤️🔥

VPS Avenger 2 vs Serum

@@musicbybenedict Probably better to compare with Omnisphere 2 though based on the sheer amount of capabilities.
But isn‘t Omnisphere more of a preset machine?

@@musicbybenedict I'm not sure, never used it, but I've heard other compare VPS to this plugin. Apparently it has wavetables, granular, multisample etc. synthesis like VPS Avenger. It also has a built in drum machine so there's that. It's marketed as the only synth you will ever need, and that's true to an extent because you can create almost any sound in it.
Vital for the win
Did you like the Vital sound more in this one?
The multiband compressor and distortion in vital sounds trash, so I always use an external plugin to colour it.
But as a free plugin, vital is a gem 💎
