I watched this wonderful video last night because I own this deck but have yet to use it. I recently started taking a doctor-prescribed supplement, which is in HUGE pill form. I have to cut them in half, but the pieces are usually jagged, and get stuck going down. The other day when swallowing one particularly scratchy piece I thought of St. Blaise, patron of those with throat ailments, and I remembered that my mother wanted to name me Blaise (not because of any religious sentiment on her part; she just liked the sound of the name). Anyway, while watching your video, I "played" along at the exercise of asking the deck which saint I should work with and get to know. I pulled number 19, St. Blaise. And today, while reading Ann Patchett's great novel, "The Dutch House," came across this passage, where a doctor jokingly tells his young daughter how in medical school, one "semester you learn how to save people who've choked on fish bones." What's going on here??? LOL The booklet accompanying the deck attributes these qualities to St. Blaise: "Supremacy over obstacles. Positive forces." I guess I could do worse! I'm pretty late to the party, Rue, but thanks for all you do!
I love this comment! I'm terrible with taking pills and I have been doing a lot of research on St. Blaise to help me out with that. :) I wish I could get my hands on this deck, but I'm pretty sure it's out of print!
Ok this is the second time I'm watching this because I went googling to find a "Lives of Saints" book after watching the first time and found some that I was considering, but didn't buy yet. Just now, I was down in my husband's studio (he's a photog and has many "props") and as I helped our student down the stairs, I turned to leave and on our bookshelf full of items, a book caught my eye. HELLO, it was exactly the same book as yours. Also from 1954. And HELLO, what was inside? A BEAUTIFUL prayer card from 1962. Just like you said there might be LOL..it was printed in Italy and just lovely. How funny! I've had a lot of "coincidences" happening now that I've been working with my Saint/Angel decks the past few days. Thanks for sharing!
Aww... I know but I rarely use this deck because I have holy cards of the specific saints I work with and those are widely available anywhere that sells Catholic supplies!
I have this deck and love it. I've learned much from it. It took me down a rabbit hole of research and purchasing books on various saints. I hope to write an addendum for the original LWB and share it as a PDF.
I think they are out of print. You can call metaphysical shops and ask if they have any. I have mentioned in numerous videos that I prefer my own deck of prayer cards which are pretty accessible at Catholic book stores and online.
This is sacrilegious.clearly you realize Catholicism is true. Why would you risk your soul for entertainment and worldly desires?
