Duece is definitely not in the rotation unless someone is injured. He is great insurance for this year and will probably be on another team next year. Everybody can't play and it's a good problem to have.
My main worry is bringing in all these new guards means they view quickley as expendable and I’d much rather have him than divincenzo or that dude who was in europe for like 4 years. I dunno why people think those picks ups are legit needle-movers, Knicks are still in that Toronto level before they got kawhi of being a palyoff team but not a real contender type purgatory
I know I'm late but the roster construction continues to mystify me. Dante is decent but we needed a long wing but went all in to sign another guard? I love Josh, but HE IS NOT A PF! We have ZERO players over have who play consistent perimeter defense. And yes, I'm including RJ who seems to get a little bigger and slower every year. Thibs is not an inventive guy. There are coaches who could maximize a small ball line up. He has proven over and over again that he isn't that guy. My hope is on Grimes, Brunson and "short hair" Randle.
Knicks will be a good offensive team but will take a step back defensively. There are too many issues with this roster to even consider us good defensively.
He should have played in the Playoffs #13. And man would have been nice if we used Rose and Obi in the Playoffs as well... Or if we still had him... I'm always concerned with Tibs as a coach. This is his last year for me before I start complaining about Tibs as a coach his in game adjustments offensively have been bad his whole career. The only reason I give him a pass is because he was on the 99 coaching staff that went to the Finals. We looked good tonight some guys surprised me with their game flow. Knicks are a short team buy it really isn't a big issue unless Julius Randle or RJ Barrett misses a ton of games but they have proven to be pretty durable.
I'd like to say these people in the obi topping train don't understand that yes he can play but he's never been in a position of double teaming or being the man so once he is a target and people plan for him it's games going to change remember they didn't plan for him in New York so yes he was able to do what he did Will he be able to do that when they plan for him double team and and plan for him that will be determined
