A great movie starring Chaplin, the plot of which still works very well in 2024 but the music is totally unsuitable. We hear a great jazz pianist playing extremely well but it's not the music of the era plus it doesn't follow remotely the plot of the sorty or the era the in which the film was made. Some piano novelty pieces would have been much more suitable or an extemporised track in keeping with how the music was done in the day would have really set the film off superbly. Unfortunately it seems that this opportunity was sadly missed.
110 years later, and his movies are still hilarious. Charlie Chaplin, a man for all seasons. We miss you!!!!!
