Just-Ice and now Ced. You getting some legends on here Kenny!
Thanks! More to come.
Ced Gee has talked about Scott La Rock’s death in the past. This time he discussed details that has never been previously discussed. Outstanding interview! 👍🏻💯💯💯
Well, he DID discuss them elsewhere...
Thanks!

This was the best interview I have seen with Ced Gee from anyone in any podcast or radio show, When I watch the other interviews with Ced it kind of seems like Ced can tell that the interviewer does not know his history so he does not really go into depth based off of that. This is the only interview I have seen Ced open up about his production, the history, his collaborations - everything. Amazing in depth interview. You have to bring Ced back and go more into the Ultra Mag journey and all of the labels they were on and how it was working as a group and seeing how Kool Keith eventually went solo and Ced has to answer some of the comments. Respect to Ced Gee. I am glad he chose to have this interview. Very dope, Kenny.
Thank you for the kind words.
It was like good friends talking on the phone.
Best interview ever! Ced-Gee is now my favorite hip hop artist of all time!,, props to you bro for speaking the unfiltered truth & your huge contribution to the foundation!,,
Ceds one of the best historians when interviewed. Great memory, humor and he's never trying to be diplomatic without being jaded or bitter.
Stetsa, and Ultra were eye opening
This was the best interview yet! We definitely need a part two though. Didn't even touch on Funk Your Head Up or Four Horseman.
Riiiiight
Funk your head up was a great album they should have cut some parts of and added new songs or remade it in 93 with the four horsemen...
Hyped for this thank you, what a gift from the recommended. Ced should be (and is) up there in the top bracket of Hip-Hop producers and style pioneers.
"wake up every morning to your Lucky Charms cereal" was about CedGee??? Mind blown!
😮 Gun shed!!! Family activities 😅
Thought that was for RunDmc
The Record store Ced Gee could not Remember is Rock & Soul Between 35st & 36st on 7ave... Been going to that spot since 1985 and its still there today ...
@winermilo. ...EXACTLY. I was yelling out Rock & Soul, Rock & Soul like they could hear me 😂
Kenny Parker Shows is so organic! No pre-written scripts. The essence of Hip Hop .I’m eager to hear how Kenny Parker feels when he heard those statements about it his brother Kris?
Yoooo Kenny, Ced Gee was building! Dropping jewels! You gotta have The Delta Ced Gee on again! Please get all of Ultra too. Word!
Hands-down, *the best* episode by far!! 👏🏿💪🏿
Thanks!
Brilliant interview with one of the unsung heroes of NYC who,s production inspired a plethora of artists from NYC. Really freaked that SP-12 & he needs his flowers from the inventor of the machine. However, if you are reading Ced Gee, you say some wild ish bruh!!!
We need part 2 and appreciate the behind the scenes production and ced gee early hip hop history.... WE NEED PART 2!!🙏
When i heard Poetry for the first time the production was levels above what was poppin at that point
Facts!
Unmatched 🙌
Kenny, can we get Ced Gee back for a part 2 please? That was the dopest show so far. You keep outdoing yourself!
Mario took the name from a guy that had the name Disco King because he liked the name Disco King, He was a spade we took names at the time, like I took Black Jack , yet I don’t play no damn black Jack it just what we did, Mario just happen to like Music and I guess at that time it fitted the situation , not that he was a Disco DJ. Mario was not a disco Dj , he started something he didn’t even know that would become hip hop till this day, true, older people like Hollywood didn’t even like us and jacked us later, we was what Cholly rock called the bastard kids of that time, even Mario was the bastard kid right with us , Remember Mario himself got shunned because he Decatur to us, yet being he was a spade he was able to break the barrier that brought hip hop into existence today. Listen I really like how you put things in perspective yet you got Mario messed up , Mario was a kid at heart like us and only way hip hop was coming is through someone that had a kids heart and spirit and that my King is King Mario.
@@ClevelandLawson-wy9nd I like this clarification. Thanks,
Yo ! This is one of the illest interviews ever! I geeked out then all of a sudden it turned into the Matrix. Who knew Ced Gee was the Hip Hop Morpheus! We definitely went down the rabbit hole on this one! Classic!
Thanks my Dude!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Wow Almost 2Hrs & Yall Didn't Even Scratch The Surface.... A Part 2 Is Mandatory! (A 3hr joint🤞🏿)
We Need All The History.
This Was Phenomenal
Peace & Blessings 2The LEGENDARY CED GEE & Brother KENNY
Ced Gee is a pioneer for all the unorthodox left field producers we got going forward.
The man was the inspiration for the Bomb Squad. This dude is canon when it comes to production
I absolutely love the backstory of some of my favorite albums and people of the 80s which shaped my style it created a spark for music and creativity that you just don't see anymore nowhere....we didn't have technology back then and it was all authentic and genuine and most of all REAL....the greatest Time in history was the 80s period for everything
Woooowww. This one is another one of those that should blow up the internet if certain people hear it! Yo!
Thanks ced gee
EXCELLENT INTERVIEW AND VERY EDUCATIONAL
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The architect of Boom Bap
The sound Ced is describing as "Disco" eventually grew to become House Music in Chicago. And he's not lying, people in Herc's age group didn't gravitate to Hip-Hop at all - they wanted to be chic and sophisticated. Hip-Hop really was a younger crowd and a youth movement
The Chuck Chillout promo is dope. I like the sample of Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man".
Kenny man yall killed it again. Every week I be looking forward to these. Please keep them coming... One observation I noticed when you are on a call with someone your audio quality drops. Not sure if that's just how it is or if it uses a different mic. Still great just something I noticed.
Hats off to Kenny & Ced!
I am so thankful for the insight that was provided here by some true pioneers of hip-hop, album production & beat making. Long before rap music was super lucrative like it is today you gentlemen created classic after classic after classic from your souls with painstaking love and respect. Literally developing the most eclectic modern musical art form with a brand new instrument. The best comparison is you guys did for hip-hop, beat making and production what Hendrix did for the electric guitar & rock music. Completely revolutionized an entire genre. The quality of those productions are prolific and they hold up to this day. Every time I listen to BDP or Ultra I hear something that I never quite noticed before. There's depth and complexity. Much respect as well to The Bomb Squad, Large P, Preemo, Erick Sermon just to name a few.
Some music fans might not know that the Lynn Drum/Akai MPC 60 or E-mu SP12 came with like 2 barely usable stock drum kits on a floppy disk (if that). Essentially, those first sampling machines were empty. Today your MPC X or DAW comes with virtually unlimited built-in sounds. Not to mention how much of a genius you had to be back in the day with like 19 seconds of available sample time! Their was no such thing as drag and drop limitless sound libraries and cookie cutter beat templates like we have today. Also no computers, no Pro-Tools or Logic for editing...
On February 9th I got an e-mail that said Ultramagnetic was doing a show at the Brooklyn Bowl on July 19th and I instantly purchased my ticket. Those hip hop shows with like ten acts that do 2 or 3 songs a piece just leave me hanging. I need the entire fix!
Kudos gentlemen, ya'll made my evening.
I love the truth and that’s all you hear from Ced.
Ced has opened up a can of worms, great interview but there is alot to follow up on.
Yeah.
KP every conversation gets better and better.
Thanks!
Crazy I was just listening to Raise it Up a few days ago. 1 ❤
Damn imagine if Ultra and BDP did a whole joint together! That woulda been CRAZY!!!!!

There are lots of things to be explored in this set!
I've saw Kenny Parker for dolo walking in Brooklyn and Manhattan,bo bodyguards.
Real dude
Yes CED G Ultra Magnetic. I love when Ced tell these Ultra and BDP stories.
AMAZING episode. WE NEED A SEQUEL. Maybe with Kool Keith too, to dive deep in the Ultra years (all 3 albums) and the rest of the 90's and next decades. Peace and Love
Wow - so much was revealed in the interview! Great show Kenny :-)
Thanks!
The jab of "lucky charm cereal" was poking at Ced? That's info I did not know, always appreciate tid bits of info like that.
These interviews are the truth. Release the 4 hour version and I'd watch the whole thing! lol
These are the type of interviews that I love !!!!
Great show, as usual.... looking forward to you interviewing your brother that will be awesomeness lol.
Great interview.
Especially the parts about the east coast west coast beef, and how ignorance has overtaken Hip-Hop today.
It's so clear to see, just listen to these so called rappers of today.
No intelligence whatsoever.
Yeah a part 2 is a must .. nice work KP
Missed you LIVE earlier,,,woke up 1130p and listening as I ride up to Seattle, Washington ✌🏾👍🏽💯💯💯

Great interveiw, Kenny!!
Thank you!
10 out of 10 for this one Kenny and the great Ced Gee. Bless
Thanks! Bless!
Wow as Ultra Mag fan . I wonder what Ced Gee would do with a high end controller like the rane 4 or Rev 7 ? Like Ultra, I'm very outside the box. I've just bought the Rane 4, and I will load all my Psyche punk Rock and Northern Soul & use my King Tubbies , Scientist influence on the rane . Imagine Ced or Mo Love on these mad controllers ...we can only dream lol big up Kenny for getting Ced to structure the early timeline & Paul C ,money Mike 's input . Another great interview .
Paul C. to the Organisms! RIP Paul C.🕊🙏😓 Paul C. Lives!✊
@1:30 - Ced, thx for explaining the diff between radio cuts and "disco Breaks" such as Herman Kelly

everyone is left Ced-Pilled after these revelations
My Ceddy ❤. I tell the world 🙌🏽🎶it's so true. Hip hop was a lifestyle. My fat shoestrings with taps on the bottom of my Adidas, and my dog tag, and pink two tone jeans. I don't apologize for none of it. Still rock the Adidas baby. Thank GOD for THE CED . Baby
This is a great interview
Thanks!
Kenny should've asked Ced Gee about Showbiz. Ced mentioned in an interview that Show was gonna be the original DJ for Ultramagnetic but he was preoccupied with getting money in the streets
Awesome interview.👍🏿❤
Thanks!
God, that was one of the dopest interviews I ever saw! Cedrics is the truth as far as producers go(Big Up, in my top 3 of all time!) Kenny keeps it it jumping!! Wow!!!
Thanks!
Excellent interview Kenny. Mad respect for giving us so much knowledge Ced-Gee.
Fantastic show📡📡 💯👊🏿
Thanks
Respect to the ogz!!! Please get dj doc on...also can you speak on the microphone check fba situation?respect
If Hollywood already had a track record for deejaying on two turntables, rhyming over precorded records wether they were the top 40 or top 20 hits in the clubs and later is emulated by his protege's, Luv Bug Star Ski, June Bug, Eddie Cheeba, and DJ Smalls, how is he not apart of the hagiography of Hip-Hop? If he came later, I could understand, but to simply dismiss him is absurd. America's introduction to Hip-Hop was based off of his model through The Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight". This "disco" style rap record became the bedrock for Hip-Hop to take root... Other than that, great show DJ Kenny! Keep the interviews coming!
The Bridge Is Over is my all time favorite! To know it was done in 35 minutes, hits so different and makes so much sense. All of my "A" papers in college were completed in 1 day. 😂
Rock & Soul records on 33rd, across from Macy's
Outstanding Interview!
Thanks!
1:53:01 Love, Peace and Respect Kenny, I love the WORK you're doing on your show, this one was definitely the DOPEST!! WOOOOOOOW, Nuff RESPECT to brother Ced Gee for droppin' so much TRUTH about things that SHOULD be continue to be PUBLICLY discussed about Hip Hop culture, past, present and FUTURE!! Thanks for using your platform as vehicle to have REAL conversations about things of true VALUE to Hip Hop culture!! Trust God within, stay FOCUSED on your good and keep SHININ', Amen! Ase'!! Unbelievable episode!!!!!!! University class in Hip-Hop…

Using the Meters was a fantastic alternative to the James Brown beats.
'The truth is simple.'
KP salute... dope interview
Salute!
The rhyming force Delta...when I enter ya best take SHELTER🔥
Wooo, that was wild! Gems dropped! He puts the Gee in Ced Gee.
I want to know where those basement tapes tunes, Space Groove and Make you Shake, are in the Ultramag timeline as i thought they were before 86', i'm sure he said so on the intro to them on that album.
There is a version of "Bait" that is a little slower tempo than the version released as a bonus on "Critical Beatdown." I'm still looking for that.
The interview was hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
He’s right. Poetry was the 2nd single and came out before the bridge is Over. The B side of Poetry was Elementary
I am 100 percent positive that ‘The Bridge Is Over’ came out before ‘Poetry’.
Here early for the playback. Had questions, I hope you or the audience ask them.
Epic interview !
Thanks!
Ced Gee word is right because Scott La Rock was connected with Ced because the beat maker is always around
01:36:17 - I believe this because when Tim Dog came to London I saw him chillin' at a nightclub in Vauxhall called The Colosseum (no longer there). I had a chat with him and asked him why he felt the need to continue the beef with NWA and he told me that it was the record label that wanted him to do it.
Another incredible guest on this awesome show!! Thank you as always Kenny!! 💯💯💯💯
Thanks for listening
KENNY ! THANK U FOR THIS LIVE.......THIS IS YOUR BEST ONE YET ! I KNEW having CED GEE as your guest was gonna be HUMONGOUS ! CED was dropping BOULDERS !!!
