The stock M103 is a fully upgraded T29 with 500 extra health. The armor is similar enough that I cannot say which is better. Possibly, the worst tier IX stock grind was the Conqueror, before the 32-Pdr replaced the 20-Pdr as the upgraded gun of the Caernarvon. The stock Conqueror is a fully upgraded Caernarvon. The 20-Pdr was bad enough on a tier VIII heavy. On a tier IX heavy, it was yet another cruel and obscure practical joke perpetrated against people who wanted to play UK tanks. What I will not soon forget was when my stock Caernarvon (17-Pdr gun) was face hugged by T-54 light weight (tier VIII LIGHT tank with an 85mm gun) and came off a poor second in every category, except the thickness of the upper glacis. I had to search for a spot on his round turret flat enough for my APCR to penetrate, while his standard AP went right through my gun mantlet. As bad as my average damage of less than a thousand per match in the Caernarvon was, two thirds of all players were even worse, so I managed to earn the first mark of excellence. The overall experience of grinding the UK heavy tank line was sufficiently bad that I could only wonder if these tanks were ever good, before being power crept to oblivion.
Sometimes it's about distracting the enemy to allow the DPM of your team time to work or getting eyes on the enemy and allow the team to angle their tanks and take cover from incoming fire. I'm working my way up a couple tech trees (British light, Polish medium, Italian td, American Yoh) and you just can't risk over-extending yourself and getting overwhelmed by better and higher tier tanks. Any guns, armor and vision that you can keep in the game longer only helps win the round.

Most tier 9 stock grinds are brutal particularly in the UK tech tree. The only thing that gets me slightly frustrated are elc even 90's on the enemy team, those tanks tend to make the blood pressure rise a bit.

I was berated by a Jpanther E100 while I was playing my elc even 90. We were on prokarovka or better know a campinabushka for LTs. Instead of going to the obvious line 1 like all the other LTs I decided to camp in the village at the 8 line. I sat there until 3 opposition MTs cruised by and started up the hill. I waited till my team engaged the MTs I was spotting and tied them down. Once they were fully engaged I made a run deep into the opposition back field spotted and eliminated the enemy SPG while being fired upon by a M48 Patton which hit me twice before I was able to get into cover. By then my team had finished off the enemy MTs on the hill and was rolling into the backfield with me. With my move we were able to secure 3/4 of the battlefield and lock the remaining enemy into the campers corner of the remaining 1/4 of the board. The raging TD player felt like i didn't do enough spotting despite the fact of securing everything east of the railroad by my spotting efforts and eliminating a SPG which would have wrecked the TD had it had the chance. But hey you can't please everyone.
I think the worst stock grind is the tier 9 YOH tank. I was so frustrated playing that POS that I dumped about 200k free xp to bypass the thing entirely.
As a father of girls who loved Barbie movie and games, your comments from 20:10-20:20 about uninstalling WOT and playing Barbie Princess Horse Adventures made me laugh more than I have in a while!!!
On the "disadvantage" narrative, I had won 3 of 10 games in a recent session. I was getting angry. Time to take a break. I came back, cooled down, and installed a mantra in my brain: 1) win, 2) take out one enemy tank. The final result was higher than my regular win rate. Over about 50 games I moved from the disasterous 30% to around 50%. I had to cheat by playing tech tree tanks, but one's I love. The ELC bis is outrageous at Tier V. I have it with 50% cammo. And the German Tier 3 Aus III E is insane, especially now that I stuck QB in as the commander with all of the free skills. I now even have brothers in arms on it. Usually I play for fun, thus my low win rate. On this occasion I played to rescue my stats. The lesson is that people play for different reasons and those reasons change over time. I am also happily over raging. When playing a light, I tell the team where I am going, and I do what I say. Otherwise, I am all about praise for good work. I particularly like praising arty for great assistance. Perhaps it is obvious that I play Lights. While my win rate is below 50%, my ability to predict a game outcome after 2 minutes is far higher. My mission, like every player, is to be there in the last two.
M103 is not that bad, honestly the tier 8 gun is fine. Something like a T-44 with 144 pen vs tier 10, 9 or even 8 is just stupid and you need like 60K XP for the tracks, turret and then gun. For M103 you only need like 22K for the turret. For me it's all about the gun. I can play anything as long as I can pen with standard rounds.
Im sick of doing death runs in my arty at end game as all the pros sit on their hands not moving in incase a pixel gets hurt and never mind spotting or tracking anything.
@@rodhales9536are you serious how much spotting do you need when i played arty to finish campaigns i finish the missions in 20 games because there's always someone to shoot
the 50b is one of those tanks whose gun handling trolls you so bad. there have been so many times i will bounce or miss entire mags from like 30m away just because rng says so. so infuriating to play autoloaders sometimes
M103 is by far my most played tank. Around 1600 games. Love it. But also never had to play it stock. However I remember the T34 to be a pain stock too. The T29s gun on Tier 9 until you git the 120mm.
Thanks for reminding the community that it is only a game. Everyone needs to do their best and stop bullying players that may just not have the experience or benefits that they do in the game.
I had the hardest time with stock Indian Panzer. All in all, even non stock Indian pz is underwhelming, but facing tier X with stock gun was very hard, especially for a beginner.
I've been using the winter arcade cabinet game mode for some tier 8 stock grinds. Playing that way, I appreciate the point about acting in more of a support role. Might normally burn free XP for things like the IS-3 turret.
It's actually even better than Frontlines. Just go, try your best, you die, pick up another tank and just continue. Bad stock tanks can be researched fast this way. It's one of the best game modes introduced in the game in a long time, it should be available to all players at least a couple of days per month.
Wise words, QB. Don't you love it when it's the teammate that died in the first couple minutes that spends the rest of the battle telling everyone else how to play the game?
I hated that tank when Grinding it, got the T11 and never went back to it. After many many years went back to the M103 and I love it. One of my best tanks.
Bruh, this M103 on Blitz was one of the reason why i dropped the whole American Heavy line 3 years ago. That stock really sucks and that mid 120mm was inaccurate as hell. Got the whole line now but i probaly will never want to regrind the E5 line again
I have a simple concept to rage in WoT: Open chat, complain and press escape instead of enter I was able to let off some steam and make sure that this does not affect other players.
I think the most I've suffered in a stock tank was T30. Oh my god, the non-top gun is so horrible. I've had like 34% winrate for so many battles, getting basically no damage, so no experience. 60k experience for the gun it took me a while, but after getting it and the engine, it feels like a whole new vehicle.
@@ryokajimosensei2780 Indeed, if you unlock all in ARL 44, its top gun is the AMX M4-51's top gun too, so you could mount it from start if the weight limit and the turret doesn't restrict it.
Ty QB for videos like this. I consider myself an average player. I have a few matches where I do great, then a bunch where the motivation of the great matches makes me play stupid. I have learned to appreciate Stock. It does make me play smarter once I upgrade. My favorite tank to play is my T95.
I've been wanting the lion for ages. ever since the italian line was hinted at and many brought up the autoloader idea leopard 1. but boy, not enjoying hoarding resources like bonds, Research blueprints, credits, free XP, etc. because no clue what it's gonna come in like. or could be a mission marathon like the 114 where I'll have to set aside time to grind. what fun...
The M103 with the stock 105mm gun is brutal, and the top gun, the 120mm M58, is very good, but honestly the T122 120mm gun is completely adequate for that tank.
I've had the M103 back in the days and absolutely hated it ! It felt like a downgrade from the T32. Might have to revisit it nowadays, to re-evaluate it.
been playing for 10 years, but not aware of being able to use experience to buy a tank...... other than on auctions, which Ive never figured out when or on what site they are held. Does WG announce this? do you have to bid at 2 in the morning?
QB, let me (47% WR, WN8 of 838, 47k matches, boomer old fart) offer a sincere word of thanks, for calling for some restraint, if not civility, in chat. I’ve had many hours of great fun in the game. I think the aspect I have enjoyed the least is the incessant drivel clogging the chat channel. If nothing else, remaining players should realize that it’s like static on tactical comms that limit useful communication at a time when it’s most needed. They only want to focus on themselves, at the expense of the team. Thanks for the voice of reason. Best 🎉of the 🎉New Year🎉
Proko, totally winnable game and our even90 just sit still in a bush the entire game, while not afk, letting the whole team melt. He "survive" the lost game. Me doing 4k damage in a tier 9 heavy could not do anything to save the game. I totally raged. That player didn't even try and he wanted to lose. And he turned out to be a 55% win rater.
I remember a few years back there was a vid. about the stock grinds being outdated... What if instead of "stock grinds" you would have grinds for options, lets say heavy tanks al start with a turret with less armour and less viewrange...what if they made every choice an option? turret with less armour having MORE viewrange instead of less.
it's always the "good" players, the 52-55% players, that behave like douches in WoT, that are super greedy and tryhard with all gold and screaming at allies for not being their lifeguards when they make suicidal and overly greedy plays. The really good and really high winrate players are more understanding most of the time, and way more helpful and supportive.
I would disagree. The better players know the game, the features and the players. They have seen it all. It is usually one of the bad players who are the complaining ones.
Maybe 7 years ago i was watching Jingles' videos and i saw in my recomendations some "QuickyBaby". What a skinny blonde weirdo i thought. And oh god he is also bri'ish, lord have mercy. But alas, here I am still watching nearly every one of his videos :D
got the Tiger 1 during the holiday ops..... i'm not sure what was a worse grind Tiger 1 or Japanese Type 91/95 Heavy? still haven't gotten the good gun on the Tiger 1 and it will take a while to get there as i've got no ability to give damage and most tanks any class will kill me with 3-4 hits
My worst experience with a stock tank? So far, it has to be the AMX 65 t. I feel so useless in that thing... The Chi-To is probably a very close second, even fully upgraded...
I got my first ever 10 kill game in a stock hellcat, I was so happy all day. Recently I finished upgrading the UDES 14 5 and saw a stock one on my team in a battle, everybody was complaining to the player, I felt for the guy, the frustration of upgrading that tank was very fresh in my mind.
Low-mid wr players: “oop yeah that one was my fault” “Yeah I’m just having fun” (Most) high wr players: “Oh the battle isn’t going my way lemme find someone to blame it all on rq”
Yesterday some guy messaged me after the game to harass me for playing a 430 passively yet at the end of the game I had more damage blocked, done and spotted than he did. The guy then shit on me for not having a good wn8 despite the fact that the game exist for people to have fun while playing and that’s what I do. If you don’t have fun while playing a game then what’s the point in playing it? Edit: My 430 has a 60% win ratio after 50 battles despite my wn8 being lower and that’s because so don’t play for my statistics I play for my team and to have fun.
Yeah... whenever I am in a heavy and make a push play, my teammates hide in cover and quake like a chihuahua... either that or they sit and eat popcorn and watch my push fail.
Maybe the 50b had bad luck. Don't blame people for that. I get some games with nearly no damge 'cause every shot missed or is a bounce - and no, this is not a bad aim, it' s rng. RNG Jesus gives and takes...

The raging TD player felt like i didn't do enough spotting despite the fact of securing everything east of the railroad by my spotting efforts and eliminating a SPG which would have wrecked the TD had it had the chance. But hey you can't please everyone.
Lol that Chrysler raging at you after they just show their side to the M103
A friend has been loving the AMX 65 t grind. only cursing at the tank itself every time he plays it.
Good thing that Tier10(hah) BZ was there in the end, to provide cover. Also a rare instance of arty being a team player, and not drowning or afk'ing.
Arty re always team players, it's the dolts who don't light up the enemy that keep them from doing more. Or the meds who snipe instead of flank.
@@animalyze7120 heres the salty arty who chirps in chat while doing nothing
First!
Love these epic battles at 16:25. 18:01 Lots of skill and teamwork needed. Total chaos
I mean for the first game, 3k damage in a stock tank is a pretty good carry
I've been using the winter arcade cabinet game mode for some tier 8 stock grinds. Playing that way, I appreciate the point about acting in more of a support role. Might normally burn free XP for things like the IS-3 turret.
It's actually even better than Frontlines. Just go, try your best, you die, pick up another tank and just continue. Bad stock tanks can be researched fast this way. It's one of the best game modes introduced in the game in a long time, it should be available to all players at least a couple of days per month.
Wise words, QB. Don't you love it when it's the teammate that died in the first couple minutes that spends the rest of the battle telling everyone else how to play the game?
i love when the light is sniping from behind the td s in my games etc
I hated that tank when Grinding it, got the T11 and never went back to it. After many many years went back to the M103 and I love it. One of my best tanks.
i just finished the stock grind of the amx 65t and that tank is horrendous
I’ve recently been suffering through the stock T32. I’m almost there though, just a little bit longer ugh
Well, that chrysler player was Polish apparently. What a shame...
This video embodies a New Year’s resolution.
The timing couldn’t be any better. I just got the M103
You KNOW our next cat's being named Fido.
Bruh, this M103 on Blitz was one of the reason why i dropped the whole American Heavy line 3 years ago. That stock really sucks and that mid 120mm was inaccurate as hell. Got the whole line now but i probaly will never want to regrind the E5 line again
A stock grind that really got me raging was the wz-120, it was soo painful
Thanks QB. I also play for the credits to upgrade. Some are VERY painful.
Happy New Year QB from Toronto, cheers mate
I have a simple concept to rage in WoT:
Open chat, complain and press escape instead of enter
I was able to let off some steam and make sure that this does not affect other players.
This is how I feel playing fully upgraded tanks.
Happy New Year, Mr.QB
Got to love how the barrels cut through buildings 😆
Happy new year 2023 QB!
after playing for 7 years; i usually go after the tech tree "grind" during String Theory week . makes it much better.
Hey QB, wanna know what one of the most painless grinds was for me? The ARL 44. Don't know why. I had it stock, but kept having great games in it
Wait till you get to AMX m4-51
@@ryokajimosensei2780 Is the stock grind on the M4 51 painless? that turret seems kinda sus to me
@@Danut2 the gun has already good pen doe, at 257. It should be a breeze to unlock
I've been wanting the lion for ages. ever since the italian line was hinted at and many brought up the autoloader idea leopard 1.
but boy, not enjoying hoarding resources like bonds, Research blueprints, credits, free XP, etc. because no clue what it's gonna come in like.
or could be a mission marathon like the 114 where I'll have to set aside time to grind.
what fun...
Yeah I just did a chinese heavy run on the common test to make sure I have enough blue prints saved up for that it seems I do
The M103 with the stock 105mm gun is brutal, and the top gun, the 120mm M58, is very good, but honestly the T122 120mm gun is completely adequate for that tank.
I've had the M103 back in the days and absolutely hated it ! It felt like a downgrade from the T32.
Might have to revisit it nowadays, to re-evaluate it.
It's a lot better
Happy New year from a WoT Console player. Been watching you for ages now you're videos are always amazing.
been playing for 10 years, but not aware of being able to use experience to buy a tank...... other than on auctions, which Ive never figured out when or on what site they are held. Does WG announce this? do you have to bid at 2 in the morning?
Barbie Princess Horse Adventure? Is that on STEAM? Lol...
"And now Quickybaby's new sponsor! Barbie Princess Horse Adventure!"
Best 🎉of the 🎉New Year🎉
B1 was absolute hell
Oh man, that brings back the horrors from driving a stock IS-M. What an awful grind that was.
And he turned out to be a 55% win rater.
m103 whel fully upgraded is such a good tank to play
It was a smart play after all. Good Job QB
That Chrysler is the definition of "Your family tree is a circle" < that insult is from QBs recent highlight video I believe
Sad fact is they're a 55% win rate player who's actually very good. Shame they couldn't see their own mistake here.
Stock brain is an amazing phrase
I did the German TD Tech tree to get the Sturmtiger and i did it, it was very hard. And not just because of stock, the gun depression.
Stock tanks are best used as meat-shield. I even used my St Emil for that purpose. Gives you some xp for spots.
Wot players are the quickest players to blame someone else if u die just leave the battle and play a different vehicle, this was a great video qb
people forget that they also had stock tanks once
I remember a few years back there was a vid. about the stock grinds being outdated... What if instead of "stock grinds" you would have grinds for options, lets say heavy tanks al start with a turret with less armour and less viewrange...what if they made every choice an option? turret with less armour having MORE viewrange instead of less.
Lol the guy really wanted you to take a hit for him just so he could get 1 more free shot
Nothing like a painful grind like a stock arlv39
it's always the "good" players, the 52-55% players, that behave like douches in WoT, that are super greedy and tryhard with all gold and screaming at allies for not being their lifeguards when they make suicidal and overly greedy plays.
I didn't know north spawn going to hill was changed. Haven't played this map in a while.
got the Tiger 1 during the holiday ops..... i'm not sure what was a worse grind
Tiger 1 or Japanese Type 91/95 Heavy?
still haven't gotten the good gun on the Tiger 1 and it will take a while to get there
as i've got no ability to give damage and most tanks any class will kill me with 3-4 hits
My worst experience with a stock tank? So far, it has to be the AMX 65 t. I feel so useless in that thing... The Chi-To is probably a very close second, even fully upgraded...
I unlocked the m46 patton 2 days ago.... never hated a stock tank more in my life
I got my first ever 10 kill game in a stock hellcat, I was so happy all day. Recently I finished upgrading the UDES 14 5 and saw a stock one on my team in a battle, everybody was complaining to the player, I felt for the guy, the frustration of upgrading that tank was very fresh in my mind.
Why don't ppl use free exp to unlock modules anymore? I always unlock the best gun and turret (if it has one) on any tank before even playing it.
im going through the M103 rn its was painful when it was a stock tank
Low-mid wr players:
“oop yeah that one was my fault”
“Yeah I’m just having fun”
(Most) high wr players:
“Oh the battle isn’t going my way lemme find someone to blame it all on rq”
First iteration of the T95. Now it's a beast. Then I threw xp at it to get it the hell done. This is circa 2014.
If you play for your team, why are you being harassed, I'm confused?
Yeah... whenever I am in a heavy and make a push play, my teammates hide in cover and quake like a chihuahua... either that or they sit and eat popcorn and watch my push fail.
"Shout it out to the gods" -- yes but Architects said that All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us...
Maybe the 50b had bad luck. Don't blame people for that. I get some games with nearly no damge 'cause every shot missed or is a bounce - and no, this is not a bad aim, it' s rng. RNG Jesus gives and takes...
Stock brain is hilarious not gonna lie 😂😂
Winter time wot is so relaxing
Sweet a stock m103. I just got mine yesterday and have not even played it yet
