Wow, thanks for that video, the hardest thing for me Is letting go if the results, feeling free and enjoy the moment. This video made me see a hole different side of creation and I love it!
I've been in a slump and your wonderful video just help me get out of it. I love the idea of painting nothing because something is nothing and nothing can be something too.
Such an important addition to your catalogue Albert. I really appreciate how you share the impact of play and exploration on your mental health, and the insights you have gathered along the way. Be well!
Your nothings are somethings to think about. Those drip-type paintings at the beginning reminded me a bit of Morris Louis's paintings, which I like. I heard where he did most of his paintings at home in the basement. I'd never heard of the Ecoline watercolor but I like the results from them. They looked rich in pigment.
Thanks Culture Fan, Morris Lewis is great indeed. I had fun painting in his style once. Liquid watercolor has great pigments, nice to try too. Enjoy, Albert
It is 5:40 something in the morning in Massachusetts and I’m awake doing nothing but watching my favorite Art Videos. I rush to click this new one from you and BAM! Exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for! Thank you so much, dear one. I bought a series of sets of high end liquid watercolor a year ago and never opened them until now! You have helped me (as you always seem to do!) open a new door to my Self. Why isn’t there a bigger stronger more beautiful word than Thanks? You are a ray of Light!🥰
Your videos are so calming and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world. I wonder what are some artists you enjoy watching on UA-cam?
Thanks puravidamama. I don't follow that many artists on YT. I mainly watch interviews or bio's of artists: what they make/made, why and how. Hope this helps. I do keep coming back to Dan Tirels though. Albert
I really like these techniques because some of them are controlled action, and other elements are produced by observing the laws of nature. I have already started doing some experiments with acrylics using flow enhancers and the results are really encouraging. Watching the paints flow in your video is really satisfying. Thanks Albert as always. Maybe for us artists and philosophers there is always something from nothing?
Hi Rawdon, thanks. Compared to static acrylics, flow is such a gift. Using mediums of flow enhancers you can make acrylics do what you want. But just switching (temporarily) to liquid watercolor gives me a sort of easy flow experience to take back to acrylics and try new ways. Play and 'nothing' or whatever never stop to amaze me. Keep the fun in art and enjoy. Albert
The most important lesson my art professors taught me, took a very long time to understand: "Let the making do the thinking; let the work do the talking." Essentially, they mean something similar to what you've said: Making something teaches you something; making something is how you think about what you're making.
Thanks, hurleyman, you're right and/or your teacher. Make - look - see - understand. Let's say it like this: I often see people make wonderful things, but they don't recognize it as such. My advice is always: put it somewhere you can see it every day and look at it over a longer period of time. It will become a friend for life. Anything you look at will become more beautiful each day. Albert
I love this idea , where do you find this type of water color do you create it yourself or buy it and where , great idea a masterpiece out of out of control .
Thanks Jayson. Just visit your local art supply store and ask for liquid watercolor. They're more than happy to help you. Or look online. Enjoy playing. Albert
I am always trying things and experimenting. My husband is always asking....what are you painting. My answer is usually...nothing, just goofing around. It is fun to do. I learn a lot too. If you ever show how to use alcohol ink, I would be interested. I do not seem to catch on to that.
Hi Connie, playing or goofing around is great fun but in my opinion essential to learning as well. I just watched a video on alcohol ink and was the whole time thinking 'what's different from ecoline liquid watercolors?' Technically I get it but you can work with either one with just as much fun I guess. So I won't go shopping for it. I often hear people talk about the latest gimmick or must-have (I don't like the sound/meaning of it) and even so often I often get people in my painting course who have everything but don't use it for whatever reason. It would help if they were goofing around to begin with but for some reason they didn't. So I help them locally of through the videos. .Maybe it's time for an additional mantra: Go, Go Goofing! Thanks for your support, Albert

Thank you for the recommendation to this video!! If you want to lose even more control, try these experiments on mineral paper!! 😊❤
Thanks, B B nice suggestion: mineral paper. I will look into it. I love trying new things. Albert
