Oh, you'll be surprised how many people here speak English incredibly well. I know there's a stereotype about most Eastern-Europeans speaking (and writing in) awful English and for us, especially, this is the result of 45 years of living in a communist bubble and learning only Russian - hence the older generation rarely speaks English. But now there's a new generation of educated people who are WAY better speakers than me, and you can hardly noitce they are not native speakers. There's a huge contrast in terms of education here, and while some Bulgarians (especially from the minorities) are totally illiterate and can't even speak or write in Bulgarian, there are lots of young people fluent in various languages. So, yeah, it's hard for a Balkan dude to speak proper English as it has very different roots from our language but... it's not THAT hard. If you stumble upon Bulgarians not knowing English - well, that's how you know who skipped English class in school (or didn't attend school at all) :D
Zombot I mean, we have foreign language classes here in the USA but no one actually learns anything from them. Most of the people who take Spanish already speak it lmao
Thalric hi yes I'm an american and it pisses me off a great deal that American schools dint encourage learning foreign languages more, its really frustrating, and I totally agree, I took 2 years of Spanish courses in highschool and I can understand just bits of words when I hear it spoken, I'm no where near proficiency. I also wish in America they would teach us some geography and awareness if other countries. I shit you not when they played q movie about Spain in my Spanish class in highschool, this is how dumb I was, I thought Spain was part of South America . and I'm not exaggerating I literally had no education of other countries. I now can name almost every European country on a map and most of South America. But it's how dumb they want us to be here in this country

I like how this song has a double meaning. At first glance is sounds like it's intended to apply to the anomie and dysfunction of the iron curtain countries in the 80s, but it also applies to modern US and other western countries as well. I think the hybrid of the USSR and US flag is supposed to be a reference to that too.

I love Eisbrecher, but I stopped listening because my mother loved them too when I showed them to her. She insisted I put all the albums on her PC. She passed a month later. My last memory of her was driving down the main street in our city in my Benz with her with eisbrecher cranked.

Tom Wonder Also mich wunderts reichlich wenig :D Metal selbst war zwar schon immer eine Männer dominierte Szene, aber in der Gothszene dagegen waren schon immer mehr Frauen zugange. Bands wie Eisbrecher vermindern diesen Unterschied, indem sie immer noch mit härteren Gitarrenriffs bestechen und dennoch diese typische Gothic Attitüde haben. Inzwischen hat es sich in beiden Szenen den 50/50 angenähert. NDH Bands seien Dank :D
