Not exactly zero, you still have to pay for the sd card (128 gb goes for 20$), and maybe a usb adapter (which I got for 10$) But still, ~30$ is way better than 40$ for a flashcart or even 100$ for a legit game
@@TomasM30when was the last time you bought a SD? A micro SD 128GB with adapter (by Samsung, SanDisk, Lexar or Amazon Basics, which is basically a Lexar anyways) costs around 8-11€ here.

If they weren't so insanely expensive people wouldn't have to buy these, as i wanted to play pokemon platinum on my ds lite, but i wasn't going to pay the insane prices they were asking for, but it's still very much a grey area, and i wish they'd just re-release them on modern hardware, or make an officially licensed emulation device.
I was gonna ask if it was a difficult process, I remember it once was. Unless I'm thinking of screen capture mods. But I looked it up and people are saying it isn't difficult to mod. If that's the case I'll consider modding one or both of my 3ds consoles
@@IceGangsta Maybe back in the early days of the 3ds it was hard (wouldn't know ngl), but now it's incredibly easy to mod as long as you follow the guide (3ds.hacks.guide) I had some small issues (probably due to me using my android to mod) but so long as you follow the guide to the letter, you can mod your 3ds with no problems (sometimes it says my sd can't be read but that's probably a me problem)
@@IceGangsta I also recommend getting a 64 or 128 gb sd card depending on how many games you want to download (but you will have to format them to fat32 so the 3ds can read the sd)
I originally got one years ago because my dad couldn't afford to be buying me multiple ds games and I was too young to know how to homebrew, only downside to these is the sd cards they provide are almost always going to give out sooner or later but you can just swap it with a real sd card that wont give out.
Imo it’s completely fine morally to buy these things Most of the DS (Also WII) library is abandonware at this point, Nintendo have made it clear they don’t care about preserving their stuff and third parties haven’t made an effort either. The last time a maximum of 20 titles ( drop in the pond for such a massive and diverse library) were available for purchase was on an unpopular consoles digital storefront. Which surprise closed shop when Nintendo got tired of spending minuscule money on hosting some servers. And y’know. Piracy is honestly just really based lol
@@eightcoins4401 they use the same technique as normal R4 cards, so it theoretically should be possible to edit the contents, but I’ve never owned one of these 300 in 1 things myself. If it is true though, then yeah. Not worth it even for the convenience.
I don't trust in these flashcarts with games already installed tbh. That's why I got an R4 (which was quite cheap) and put games on it myself. Yes I could just use Twilight Menu++ but I prefer having DS and 3DS games separated -and my SD was quite full anyways, so a smaller one for DS is just more convenient to me.
I used an R4 in the past, I guess it's also a thing most people did where I'm from, as it was cheaper for most people to get multiple ROMs than buying a single DS game. I did buy Pokemon Black 2 (the best Pokemon game) a few months after it came out, because my thought at the time was to really get a legit copy instead of waiting for the ROM. If only I also had the foresight to get the other DS games physically as well.
I bought heart gold for $120 cart looks very nice, normally i wouldnt do this but as a kid that game meant alot to me, i had invested 600+ hours on that save.. age 13 some jackass “friend” stole it from me and moved to the east coast right after 🤦🏽♂️

i remember playing mario hoops 3 on 3 with all my brothers as well as mario kart ds. we only needed 1 owner of the game and could join their game using the ds wireless connection. you could only race as shy guy but it was soooo much fun.

I got a couple bootlegs myself. Got a New Super Mario DS bootleg and a Dora Saves the Princess DS bootleg. Got them because they both were likely to be N-Cards which was the main reason I got them. Got them off eBay from a UK seller (and it appears that seller has normal stuff on his shop so maybe didn't know they weren't real). The errors in the label gave them away. The Mario game used a PEGI rating logo on instead of ESRB, USA text but with Europe game code. A very regionally confused label. The game code is the only thing correct on it as was indeed the Europe release of the game. The Dora cart's label was missing the 2K Play logo and had incorrect game code. (it did use the correct region text and ESRB logo though) Anyways the Mario game wasn't too interesting other then not being a real retail cart. It was some odd single rom cart with the game flashed to an eeprom chip of some sort. Unlike the cart you got it's not really a flashcart and has more in common with the GBA bootlegs. Shows up with the correct icon and works on unmodded consoles too. It wasn't an N-Card like I had hoped but that's why I got the Dora cart incase one of them wasn't. The Dora one was more interesting and was why I sought them out. N-Cards were very old flashcarts made back before the first R4's. They used internal nand to store the games instead of a MicroSD slot and required the use of a slot2 cart with a USB port on it! (you'd connect it to a PC and boot it up into a USB disk mode and the flashcart shows up as if it was a USB flash drive) The very cool thing about these carts is their compatibility is still pretty good despite not getting any firmware updates past 2008. The only games I've seen not work on them are the largest 512MB games (and only notable ones released outside of Japan that use that rom size are Pokemon Black 2/White 2) and games that used nand based save system (like WarioWare DIY). AP patches were not a thing back then so unlike the modern flashcarts that usually do some AP patches automatically you have to prepatch AP patches to the rom before copying them to the cart. (So some newer Pokemon game's AP measures will trigger on this cart which I confirmed through testing) Anyways the "bootlegged" version of these N-Cards use the icon from the game instead of their proper N-card (or N-Card clone) icon. (notable N-Card clones are F-Card, Fire Link Card, DS Linker, ExpressCart, etc) with just the single game flashed to a specific location on nand that the main rom loads after booted. (so no fancy menu UI to speak of. Just boots right into the game it was pretending to be) Unlike the Mario bootleg this one will NOT boot on unmodded consoles. For DSi you have to have HiyaCFW/Unlaunch installed to boot it from System Menu. On 3DS N-Cards don't even show up in home menu so homebrew like NTR Launcher or Twilight's slot 1 launcher are required to boot it. Anyways I figured out how to reflash the N-Card bootlegs to become normal N-Cards again so I can put multiple roms on them and that's what I did with the Dora cart. i've already written some homebrew to make doing stuff with these cards easier. I made a fork of GodMode9i (called GodMode9Nrio) that can transfer files/games to the cart with a DSi (since DSi lacks a GBA slot which was used for the USB device these cards normally use) and nrioTool which handled some diagnostic stuff like backing up important data from hidden parts of nand like the udisk partition. Right now I haven't found a way to alter the icon N-Cards use to show on the console's UI but it is possible. Someone just has to reverse engineer the DLDI driver so I can use modified write code to safely edit the banner section on nand. Long story short I got the 2 bootlegs because the hardware they used were interesting and not so much the pirated games they came with.
It is a clone of the Ace3ds of yesteryear. I've had it for 3 years and these firmware cards have a ticking time bomb. What is a ticking time bomb in an Nds cartridge? It is an obsolescence program programmed so that in 4-5 years it will magically stop working. Solution? Change the firmware on the SD or go back the years on the console.
If you cant buy something first party anymore and the aftermarket is scalped to high hell then Its not a bad thing. it only becomes bad once you are making money off of it bc its not yours to sell. But if you are just a fan who wants to play something from their childhood that you cant get anymore then i say go ahead.

I've been tempted to get one or more of these collections but i've been wondering about something about them?..Are there different games on these cartridges or do they have the same games and they just add more games to the cartridges with more games in them? You've got to check out Sonic Wings 2 & 3 and Windjammers if they are on there, some top fighting games and sports too, Metal Slug series, the list goes on and on
Four years ago, a regular game boy color in the local marketplace where i live used to be around R$ 150,00. A reasonable price. Checked and now it's around R$ 700,00. It's crazy that i used to buy it with extra money, just for fun. For reference, the minimum wage is R$1300,00.

I got the 210 in 1 ds games for $8.88 after taxes awhile back on ali express, it doesn't seem as good of a deal after seeing you get 4300 for $11 or so but what's weird is mine came with an actual ds case that I had to take the plastic wrap off of and had the little plastic clear case like yours does I only have a couple regular nintendo ds lites so it was fine for what I wanted
If you ever are in need of buying another flash cart I highly recommend getting a R4 and a 64gb micro sd card. They’re the most well known and stable way to play games on hardware. But hacking your ds or 3ds is usually the way to go
just dont fucking buy flashcarts, a 3ds can run everything on there for CHEAPER ($0). homebrew is easy. Just dont pay money for pirated shit

There is a way to get back to the Menu! Press L and R And ABXY at the same time and it takes you back to the menu to select a ROM.

Funfact:normally in all of those game cards for the ds if you press the y button and then the x button there should be a list of cheats for the game

I got the 210 in 1 ds games for $8.88 after taxes awhile back on ali express, it doesn't seem as good of a deal after seeing you get 4300 for $11 or so but what's weird is mine came with an actual ds case that I had to take the plastic wrap off of and had the little plastic clear case like yours does
I only have a couple regular nintendo ds lites so it was fine for what I wanted
If you ever are in need of buying another flash cart I highly recommend getting a R4 and a 64gb micro sd card.
