This is why it's important to watch multiple reviews. I've also watched a bunch of reviews saying it's a bad game, and I've seen a bunch saying it's great lol
Hi Ircha! I know you are a Neptunia fan from watching your videos but I’m still very sceptical especially since he said the combat was fairly mindless. I used to buy a lot of the neptunia games but stopped because despite loving them in theory I never managed to love them in practice. The most recent I played I think was 4 goddesses online and it was better than most of them but still they never feel like quality games. It doesn’t look like they have progressed that much from Victory on PS3 which was the first I played in the series.
Am I missing something? I am hearing the video calling the combat "mindless" and from what I am watching it looks pretty similar to the way combat has been since the Remake version of the original game. The video even brings up the fact that it's very easy because side content makes you grow so fast. I'm also personally seeing recycled enemies and the video mentions simple recycled maps. Were some previous entries so bad that this looks good in comparison? I don't get your comment sounding so positive about "enjoying" it. I am not trying to hate or be mean, I am just genuinely trying to understand what I am getting into so that I don't get fooled by the video saying things like "believe it or not the narrative is fantastic" and then being inundated by jokes about how much Neptunia loves pudding.
Thank god the regular English VAs are back. Probably an unpopular opinion but it’s a big part of why I fell in the love with the characters (especially Neptune’s VA). I’m kind of annoyed they STILL seem to be reusing so many assets, even so many years later…. This looks too similar to Megadimension to me- kinda ridiculous. But hey, glad to hear it’s somewhat decent!
I love the neptunia series! It has it's own quirk and charm. I do agree that the graphics and performance are often an issue. But I love the characters, story and gameplay. I will be picking this up soon. Please tell me "Jump like a bunny" and "jump like a kangaroo" has returned?!
neither, it's trying to do something more akin to the jrpg entries, just not turn based, so it feels kind of like a janky tales of game. I suppose it's kind of like cyberdimension, but a bit more refined.
Ok great review and makes me glad I preordered but pleaaaase...... Lowee isnt Low like idk Lowes. It's Low-Wii...because its Nintendo...? Just a minor gripe im sorry xD
@Vile Disturbance 🇷🇺 >the developers went out of their way to thank me for playing their game after I finished the game. I remember the time when nearly every game did this.
The last Neptunia game I played was V-II and none of the many spinoffs and crossovers they churned out felt appealing to me But perhaps this is what I should try next
@@angelicplay3419it's not prejudice..he simply said they didn't feel appealing to them. neptunia fan here too and i don't exactly feel like playing the spinoffs either. not prejudice, they just don't seem to match my personal taste...and that's fine
@@angelicplay3419 yeah, the stories didn't speak to me much. but even if they did...i just don't have an affinity with the spinoff games much. and that's fine. i don't *need* to like them
One thing I dislike about playing in english dub is that it has less voiced lines, so for me playing in JP works better as im not a fan of those silent scene's when I know it would be voiced had I be playing in JP.
@@dylanpreciado4110 Yeah its a night and day difference, Neptunia games are generally fully jp voiced up to 95% of the game, that goes for the Death end request series as well. English dub is good but only feels like its voiced 50% of the time.
It is main timeline, and actively references events from mk2 in particular, but i've seen nods to megadimension and victory as well. An early bit of dialogue from nepgear specifically mentions fighting the 3 goddesses that were the final bosses of those 3 games.
Is this game hard like reverse? Where everything is mad expensive and even the slightest enemies can body you? I literally did a ran through twice on reverse(both settings) grinded madly and I still get stuck at a snow mountain. Where the local monsters just murder me. It's always the two orange and red dresses girls with guns, the chubby orange and black dragon that transforms after too much damage and the stupid floating skeleton on the pillow.
nah, rebirth 1 (which reverse is a remaster of) always had weird balance issues, that first black heart fight is brutal...this one seems relatively easy so far, it's hard enough that you have to pay attention, but not so hard that you need to grind. Sister's vs. Sisters feels like it's in a good sweet spot for difficulty.
This looks like a step in the right direction. The endless amount of re used assets is what kept me from buying all the spin-offs and remakes they have made since VII. Lets hope for a new mainline game soon.
this is...more or less, a new mainline game. But all the same, I'd also like a new entry that's just a straight up jrpg again, this one is close though, much closer than we've had for years.
on ps5 the frame rate is kind of all over the place, but seems to float around 30. The game definitely looks better than usual visually, but it doesn't run great.
not yet, but they often spread releases out since it's a small team. For the moment it's on ps4, ps5, and pc. But I imagine a switch version will come within a few months.
SvS reseption is very weird to me. I have seen bunch of non-fans hating on it for the things i personally find fun, bunch of fans being dissapointed and fans who praise it as the best one yet and im going to be honest, i strongly disagree with each of them. Non-fans are self-explanatory - they come into our fandom and demand fixing that is not broken. They are entiteled to their opinions, but i think we are entiteled to ignoring their opinions and/or thinking whose opinions are stupid. Dissapointed fans i can understand, if not agree with them, they are too entiteled to their opinions and as long as they are respectfull about it, its fine for them not being thrilled because they wanted something different. As for fans who love this game to pieces - i think SvS is way too flawed to be called the best in the series - combat is way too easy, dungeons are either too big or need a way to move quicker (IF, please, give us nepbike) and Planeptune... oh god Planeptune, giant, beautifull and, unfortunatelly, empty city, so much love and work for something so pointless. Not to say SvS is bad by any means, but i think its just good. Not as good as mainline games, but on par with 4GO. Honestly, im more exited at that SvS means for future of Nep franchise - how next game can hone and refine good parts of it into great ones. If SvS is anything to go by, next game will be best one yet
yeah, while i think the combat is flashy and fun but a bit spammy for my tastes, the rest of the game is excellent, much higher quality than anything we've gotten in recent years. Also...we FINALLY HAVE EXPLORABLE TOWNS. I know that's a little thing, and the explorable planeptune is pretty basic, but I've wanted that forever, towns being limited to static maps and menus has always bugged me.
I like there are still RPGs with short miniskirts on cute girls and not all these fake political correct developers hiding even ankles or elbows into cloths on their musculature heroines. I played maybe 5-6 neptunia games and always enjoyed it. A bit infantile characters and stories, but always funny and cool playable.

Great to hear the English voices are back. I couldn't stand Neptune's japanese voice. Glad they're finally giving everyone the option to use the voices they like again.

The game is using a entirely new engine they dropped the Playstation engine for Unity.
You've nothing to be proud of. That arrogant glasses girl Mendez has flopped this one! That's what.
Looking forward to playing this one. I love the Neptunia games.
