Daniels was at a convention I was attending around 6 months before Revenge of the Sith was released and tried to make it about him as much as possible claiming "it's the last chance fans will get to see the real C3P0" He had the biggest booth and everything and it definitely seemed like no one cared that much. Complete opposite end of things David Prowse was there and I realised a little late and got to his booth as him and his assistant were packing down and getting ready to leave. His assistant said sorry and asked me to move on, Prowse then cut him off and waved me forward as I mentioned I was a huge Vader fan. I then got about 10 minutes with him asking him every nerdy question I could. I'll always remember him as one of the nicest people I've met. He didn't even charge me to autograph the comic book I had...the man's a legend
@@TokiWardguitar I never met Daniels, but my parents tell me when I was barely in toddler stage I went with my dad to a convention to get Kenny Baker’s autograph in a Phantom menace Artoo figure. He was done for the day, comprehensibly tired and leaving really, but he seemed to have gifted us a couple of minutes to sign the toy’s package for me. Although I don’t remember, my dad still has that figure sealed and kept me from opening it then so that he could show it to me as an adult & could appreciate it.
I met him too. It was shortly after his hip replacement and was struggling with his recovery, but came to meet the fans. We had quite a chat about South Africa as i was dating a girl from there and he had spent some time there. Really nice bloke.
@@chasehedges6775Hey Chase, I hope to meet Elizabeth Debicki one day because she is my favourite actress and she is super gracious to fans and she wouldn't be where she is today without fans supporting her.
When I was a kid I met Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett). I got an autograph and a photo with him. He was very kind and humble. Funny that the ruthless bounty hunter is very polite while the robot servant is an asshole.
A friend of mine met Jeremy Bulloch at a convention too, and though it was a sci-fi one he talked with him happily about his role in Robin of Sherwood and gladly signed a picture of him in that show. He said he seemed genuinely delighted to chat with fans about anything he was in from Doctor Who to Star Wars, a genuinely lovely man.
@@azureascendant994 Daniels fancies himself a “real” actor, you can just tell he feels he should have been a big broadway star, part of his priggishness is overcompensating for feeling like a failure in his own grand mind.
I've once met the guy who wore the Boba Fett in ESB, he was a nice guy and saw him on the floor, he was a nice guy, shame he died a few years ago, also met Warwick Davidson too
You know what’s funny is that Darth Vader (Dave Prowse) was so much friendlier. Signed everything I had, personalised a few, had a chat. He was a great guy.
It's ironic that most of the actors that played the villains are nice in real life and most actors that played the heroes are assholes in real life lol
The nicest person I have ever met was at a convention was John Rhys Davies (LOTR/Indiana Jones). He spent 30 minutes chatting about all his films to me, took loads of pictures and signed a few things. All I actually paid for was one picture, so he didn't have to do all that. He was lovely.
I had the life time privilege to meet the immortal Stan Lee at Sydney Supanova. Despite his advanced age, he took the time to personally greet and welcome every one of us that got a photo with him. He was warm and caring and funny all the way through. I will never forget hearing that craggy voice wishing me "May The Force be with you, True Believer" as I was shown out of the booth. But that's not the least of it. There were so many people there on that first day who got photos and signatures from him that they straight up ran out time to get through all the signatures. He however insisted on staying back longer than what he was booked for to get through as many people who were willing to stay and offered full refunds to those who couldn't. That tired old man powered through it all. He was there for almost an hour and a half longer. I was near the back of the line and watched as he was clearly wearing out but refused to stop. I wasn't even getting anything from his legacy signed, I got my photo and custom lightsaber signed, but he did it all regardless. Now, we know there was something tantamount to elder abuse going on in the last years before his tragic passing but I cannot for a second believe what I saw was any less than his own pure love and dedication to his craft and above all, to his fans. And none of us, NONE OF US, would have held it against him if he had to pack it in. I will never forget those memories, I doubt any of us who were there and at every other convention like it ever will. He was a hero and makes cunts like Anthony Daniels nothing less than a blight upon the fandoms.
I’m personally not a fan of that phrase just because I feel it puts public icons on unfair pedestals. My take with this is if you want to meet someone you admire if you have that opportunity, go for it. Just keep your expectations at a minimum because you never know how your experience can go. I find it also helps to follow them on social media beforehand so you can get a (potential) idea of what they’re really like as people. In the case of Daniels, he’s a case unfortunately you’re very likely going to have a bad time meeting him. But….. in the end, you find out the kind of person he’s like, and that’s that.
Anthony Daniels has clearly failed the assignment. Isn't the point of actors attending conventions to meet up with their fans, answer questions about their careers, and have a good time? I wouldn't know, it's been a while.. Anyways, by the sounds of it, he's another actor who thinks too highly of himself, and got drunk off of his own success. He should know at the end of the day that people didn't watch Star Wars for Anthony Daniels (and his inflated ego), but for the character he was paid to portray. A question about Indiana Jones or Lord of the Rings? Were he a more reasonable man, and cared about his fans, he would answer such questions, rather than dismiss them.
He was really rude to someone I know. Made fun of his love of Star Wars and told him to stop wasting his life. The guy is a game developer and makes a good living, he has not wasted his life. Screw that guy.
I met Anthony Daniels once. It was at a strange exhibition in London called “The Power Of Myth” promoting “The Phantom Menace” there were props there including Anakins full size pod racer. Anyway, in amongst the crowds I spotted Mr Daniels. NO ONE had any idea who he was. He was walking around the exhibition and not a single person clocked who he was. I went to get a drink at the little cafe area and he was sat there chatting to some lady and her young daughter. I’m not making this up..when Mr Daniels realised they didn’t know who he was he did the voice. And they shook their heads and said “sorry”. He shuffled off. I went after him. This was my chance to get an autograph. All I had on me was my entrance ticket. I shouted “Mr Daniels!” he turned and smiled, presumably glad of some recognition. I asked for an autograph, Holding my ticket and pen out. His response “Sorry. I don’t sign scraps of paper” ....I just stared at him. Shell shocked I’d been turned down by C3PO. What did I do? I tersely (and loudly) responded “HOW ABOUT A PHOTO THEN?” He jumped and said “of course, where shall we stand?” I haven’t been able to look at that photo since it was developed 25 years ago. *Never meet your heroes* .
That exhibit also was in the air and space museum in Washington DC. I still have the DVD somewhere. I also have the book from Mary Henderson. It was the Magic of Myth. Power of Myth is the Joseph Campbell series filmed at Skywalker Ranch.
I met Kenny Baker too. He was getting quite frail at that point, and a day of repetitive signing was visibly showing. But whatever the physical limitations, Kenny himself remained incredibly friendly and funny. Totally appreciative of his fans - unlike the total tool Anthony Daniels, who Kenny himself had lost all patience and respect for.
I spoke with long-time 501st Legion members, who also told me of Anthony Daniels' arrogance. Sad, cause all the interviews I saw of him made him look rather friendly.
Meeting your heroes is indeed a perilous thing, but it can be a wonderful experience. I recently met Timothy Zahn, a man whose work helped inspire me to be a writer (my 4th book will be out once the fantastic team at Soundbooth Theater records it in the coming months). Timothy was a joy to talk to: the man is grounded, polite, intelligent and clearly appreciates the chance to be with his fans. He does conventions all over and I highly recommend taking time to see him and grab an autographed copy of one of his books (Heir to the Empire’s 25th Anniversary sits proudly on my shelf front and center). Oh, and he doesn’t charge $200 for an autograph. Far more reasonably priced.
I hate the mentality that you should never meet your heroes. I've had several great experiences meeting mangakas, comic book artists, voice actors, youtubers, etc. Glad you got to meet Timothy Zahn.
@@LuffyMcDuckmany (most) people worship celebrities, Hollywood-ed out famous people. Celebrities are typically narcissistic and part of the ‘the club’, inflating their already massive ego. This is why the phrase is so relevant.
I saw him in London in 2010, he refused to sign something for the single fan who approached him, turned his nose up and looked to the staff to get rid of the fan
Anthony probably has the "it's just a prank bro" mentality when he interrupted your question about his role, believing that because he's famous means that anyone who likes him automatically will tolerate any mistreatment he gives.
I would’ve forgone Anthony Daniels and meet Temuera Morrison instead. I was set to meet him earlier this year in my neck of the woods, but unfortunately, he had to cancel.
Sounds like he's the opposite of Christopher Lee, who hated being reminded of his role as Dracula and preferred it when people talked about his other works.
@@knightsofrreee7961 , like the time he promised to sign a kids autograph only if he would promise to never watch Star Wars again, because the kid watched it 200 times.
We had Anthony and Adam Savage here for a few conventions here over the last month and I can say with all conviction....Adam was by far THE most popular of the two! He was kind, geeky, down to earth and had time for absolutely everyone and showed genuine interest in every costume and prop he was shown, signing everything in sight and posing for a huge amount of photos. Not only that he spent a lot of time walking among the crowds saying hello to loads of people instead of being sat in a booth....know how much he charged people......Zero. What a legend and theres already requests for him to come back again! Daniels never got mentioned by any of my cosplay mates and I know a lot and he sure as hell was never seen on the floor. I met Dave Prowse a long time ago, genuinely nice guy who chatted with me, signed my tie fighter model and posed for a photo......for nothing. I paid 180 bucks to meet William Shatner briefly, worth every cent for the few minutes to chat with him and for the amazing photo of us together. Sorry you had this experience with Daniels, theres a lot of stars I wouldnt waste my time on, others are genuinely nice, theres plenty more to meet mate!
When I asked Tom Kenny about rockos modern life and powerpuff girls SpongeBob event he was 100% catering and kind about it. That’s how you treat your fans
It depends; sometimes the people doing the signing do it to raise money for some charity or other worthy cause. (I've been to conventions where the guests did 'special emergency fundraising' efforts like that to pay for the damages done by the guests/convention-goers...)
@@KirkWilliamsIsBroken Well, if you feel that way about it, here's a suggestion: Don't do it. Or is that too difficult a choice for you? The only VA I wanted to sign anything I have: Steve Downes, the voice of Master Chief. And I got to meet him recently. First and last “celeb” I’ll ever meet. Even though he was awesome.
I used to think too that Mark Hamill was a good guy, until recent events turned him into an opportunist and hypocrite who cares for noone and even if he does he will do it for his own gain. I still think he will return as Joker when he feels like it and probably cash in big time on his name alone and make it some big event about Kevin Conroy while spitting on his legacy. I have met so many actors at conventions and many have looked and sounded like they don't want to be there. HOWEVER, one of the BEST people I have ever met was Michael Biehn and his wife Jennifer Blanc. Honest to God, these two people took so much time to speak to me and my wife about so many movie related topics and much, much more that I will never forget just how nice they were...
Poor Anthony Daniels. At the beginning of his career he probably dreamed he would be playing in Shakespearean theatre productions but instead ends up becoming famous as a Sci Fi movie's comical relief character.🤔😏
I've recently had a Star Wars Documentary extravaganza (1-6) and Daniels came off as very likeable and approachable. I'd want to meet him based on his interviews alone, but I keep having to remind myself, actors act for a reason. They're narcissists, they put on a show for attention and nothing else. They're the 'look at me' generation before the 'look at me' generation. I know it's not all actors. Some are probably amazing people. But I am deeply disappointed with who most of them turn out to be. You have my respect for at least attempting to talk with Asshole Daniels about something that interested you, I'm too darn shy to try anything like that, and maybe for the better. I think it helps that 3PO is sort of a pathetic character in Star Wars, so it doesn't take too much suspension of disbelief when watching SW, knowing who the man is. But that's just me. Thanks for sharing this story man, based on your content I know you have a much stronger moral compass than most people anyway.
If it means anything I met Anthony Daniels about two years ago, got his autograph for £80 and he took some time out to have a conversation with us for a couple of minutes. We talked about filming in Tunisia, the lady who sculpted 3PO's mask, and also he asked us about our jobs and seemed genuinely interested. Probably the best experience I've had meeting an actor at a convention.
@@j.j.plagiarisms7149 and even then, he should have the decency to listen to the question. The part is probably the idiots around you laughing as if he did an amazing thing.
I had Anthony Daniels sign a lithograph I had of C-3PO & R2-D2. Kenny Baker, Jeremy Bulloch, Dave Prowse, & Ray Park were also at the convention. All of them were super cool and loved talking to fans. Anthony was an ABSOLUTE PRICK. Never had a worse experience with a Star Wars actor. Until I met Ian McDiarmid who gave Anthony a run for the money in being a jerk....
@@CommanderFoxclone1010 I paid $100 for his autograph and told assistant where I wanted the signature. When he was signing, I was commenting how much I enjoyed his performance. He said, "You paid for my autograph, not to talk to me."
It's amazing how your story aligns with EVERY first-hand story I've ever heard about Daniels. Pack your signed stuff away til you sell it and now that you've made this video, don't let his behavior rob you of another second of your life.
These celebrities need to be thankful for their fans. Ann Hathaway actually said she wouldn't be here with out them. a fan asks for a photo. I can take a minute to do that.
Anthony Daniels is a snake. While I'm not the biggest fan of the prequels, Daniels talking smack about Lucas' direction regarding the PT when they were making Force Awakens was a snake move. And to think when Kenny Baker died no one cared....
I had similar experience with Daniels when he attended the Prague Comic Con. During his Q&A all he did was run around, promote his book and insult fans when they asked him his question (Unless it was ultra-C-3PO-centric). Most people there however had fun and took it well, since they were under the impression that he was doing a bit, and that his behaviour was self-aware. I who knew about his personality from before, knew better. I did get a photo with him, for my own collection, rather than any admiration of him. And it was really unpleasant. Not for me though, I lucked out. The people before me in the booth were a pair of cosplayers, whose accesories made it hard for them to get into the cookie-cutter position he wanted, where he and the quests held together a C-3PO statue. He was extremely rude with them, calling their home-meade weapon replicas and stuff 'trash' and he very bluntly questioned their intelligence. By the time they left they were visibly upset. However since I got to see what he wanted, I got into the correct position right away, before he could even start explaining, which visibly suprised him, and I earned a "Thank you! Finally a clever person..." from him in a most patronising and condescending manner. But it was clear that he was indeed thankful, since he had to spend a few less seconds with another moronic fan.
Makes me realize how lucky I was to meet David Prowse, and Jeremy Bulloch. Met them at a little comic shop, separate events, in 1996. Each of those men couldn't have been kinder. Jeremy must have talked to my friends and I for 15 minutes. He even starting asking us questions. Explained his dual role in ESB (this was before the internet was what it is, and this wasn't something everyone knew) and how that all came about. There weren't many people there, the only way you could know about it was an add in the paper. Prowse, I got to meet again in 2007. He was more reserved than the first time, but still a class act. I'd go back to being a Star Wars fan in those days in a heartbeat. Younger people unfortunately can't know what it used to mean. It was truly magical.
Jeremy was the half brother of Robert Watts. and i'm sad that both of them are gone. Robert in particular behind the scenes is very unsung on Star Wars and Indiana Jones. As for David I've idolized him since a child, and it was a devastating thing when he died. He was Darth Vader.
Asking Anthony Daniels about his role in Young Indy is like asking Matt Doran about his role as Damien in Home and Away (which I totally would have done).
I had a similar experience with him during a convention in Switzerland. I instead had a nice chat with John Noble (he also cost much less for an autograph)
As others have stated in the past, and most likely here in your comments too, Anthony Daniels was notoriously unpleasant, bordering on abusive to his co-star Kenny Baker. Kenny himself came out once during an interview and said he (Daniels) "Doesn't do well with others" would never socialize with his fellow cast members. According to the makeup department too, he was also a bit of a diva, refusing to be fully-suited up in the 3PO costume until "the dwarf" was inside the R2 robot. I've heard very few anecdotal arguments of Daniels being nice when a camera is rolling, but plenty of examples of him being thoroughly-unpleasant when not.
Honestly not surprised, the guy is so arrogant he goes out of his way to play every C3PO role too. As if only he can play the role. It's not like C3PO is an especially emotive character. Definitely sell that funko pop when he croaks, why hold onto something tied to bad memories after all.
I disagree. It takes talent to express yourself with no facial expressions. He may be a prick, but Daniels is talented enough to make people sympathize and like a golden, queer robot with a static face.
@@James_Bee Not saying that isn't a talent, I just don't think it applies for C3PO. I recall he insisted on wearing the costume every time he played the role, when he's like the one guy who could sit back and just do voicework lol. I just don't think we'd really see much of a difference in the performance of this character if someone else was wearing the costume?
C3PO is the one character no one so far has been able to do the voice right for. Tom Kane had a pretty good try and Simon Pegg did a version of it too, but so far it's too jarring to have someone else's voice, when Daniels retires they're gonna have to use AI or do some serious searching for someone who can do the voice. Unlike characters like Yoda and Chewie, most star wars fans don't have a C-3PO impression and people aren't used to trying out the C3PO voice
@@RX7821979 I mean there's plenty of uber-fans and super collectors. Like that one guy who buys absolutely everything Star Wars related for his own mini-museum. XD
WOW. Y'know, if we were talking someone along the caliber of Tim Curry, Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, or other major names in Hollywood -- I could almost understand the arrogance. But this is a guy who, if he had a comfortable life financially (despite not being a major league name), really should realize that he owes it all the fans who've been loving him all these years, and should be more than a little grateful and willing to give back. As it is, it just sounds like he has main character syndrome. Sorry you had to go through with that, but FWIW, I hopped onto UA-cam to watch this to make sure you got the ad revenue from my view.
He hosted a Phil Harmonic Orchestra tribute to Star Wars in Toronto. I paid good money for tickets to see it up in close. A handler followed him around with a gay umbrella hanging over him and carried his coffee for him which he would sip and hand it back to him. It looked like 'Diva Syndrome'.
Totally understand, feel the same way about Jonathan Frakes, met him years ago and he was a complete jerk. Lost all respect for him. On the flip side, Dean Cain, unprompted, actually came around to shake hands and take pictures with us. He was an amazingly friendly guy! Gained a tremendous amount of respect for him that day!
Jonathan Frakes is an actor and director I respect and I've heard from a number of people he's very nice and down to earth. He's actually one of the few celebrities I would like to meet. I'm very sorry you had a bad experience meeting him.
Sorry to hear about that experience dude. I had the opposite experience to that a few months ago at a convention. I was at a panel with Johnny Young Bosch and the crowd was mainly asking him questions related to his voice acting work in anime and so forth. When I asked a question, it was related to his tenure on Power Rangers. He was very nice and answered my question to the best of his ability because it had to do with interaction with a previous actor on the show. Later on when I approached his table to get my Vash the Stampede Pop signed by him and he was very nice. It sucks that more actors can't be professional with their own fans such as that.
Mark Hamill signed a picture for me with his autograph in the 1990s and charged me nothing. I have the warmest regards for him. Of course everyone has their own experience. I'm saying mine is positive and not negative.
I assume Hollywood people are a-holes until proven otherwise. Like Keanu Reeves and Paul Walker seem/seemed to be very down to earth and humble guys. I heard a story about Paul allegedly paying for a couple’s engagement ring after overhearing the guy couldn’t afford it. And Keanu is a national treasure. Possibly some kind of immortal that’s been around for centuries but a treasure nonetheless. Maybe don’t be as cynical as me. No one’s perfect, don’t expect your heroes/idols to be. But there’s a difference between being flawed and being a straight up jerk. Anthony Daniels clearly doesn’t realize he can be replaced with CGI and another voice actor. I love the character, not necessarily the guy playing him. And when you’re a robot, you’re not as special as the actors whose faces we can see. The exception being Vader in this case.
I've heard many similar stories, his behaviour goes back to the original trilogy... he didn't want Kenny Baker to be credited as R2-D2, and was actively rude to him on set and looked down on him. Disappointing to learn these things, but like you said, "Don't meet your heroes."
I’ve heard various stories where he’s just a flat out jerk to people for no reason at all. Fame can defiantly do that to people, though he was apparently rude to Kenny Baker all the way back making the original film as Daniels didn’t think Baker was important at all, so it’s just sad to hear stories about those who have been in peoples favorite films, like Star Wars. Not surprising, but sad all the same.
Funny thing is R2-D2 was FAR more important than C-3PO. 3PO was even more useless than Jar Jar Binks. He could have been cut out of Star Wars entirely and the ONLY thing that would change would be how Luke, Han, Leia and R2 negotiated with the Ewoks. R2-D2 on the other hand was vital to all 6 movies. Chronologically, it would have ended when Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Padme were trying to escape the Naboo blockade in TPM if R2 hadn't saved their asses. And ANH would have never even reached Tatooine because Vader would have gotten the plans as soon as he captured Leia if R2 wasn't there.
I saw him at a con here in the UK in 2022. His Q&A was just him walking around the crowd with the mic and insulting people haha. He was only interested in selling his book.
Sad when people give 200 bucks for a dude signing something. They should do that for free ffs! WE MADE THEM FAMOUS! ID NEVER PAY for an autograph...never.
He also hated ‘2001:The Space Odyssey’(the only sci-fi movie he watched) but changed his mind much later after George Lucas made him rewatch it to study HAL 9000’s voice.
I had a similar experience with Charles Fleischer the voice and stand in for Roger Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This was in 2017 the Chicago Cubs won the World Series the previous year, well Fleischer was in the 2nd Back to the Future and is the guy who says the line "I wish I could go back in time and put some money on the Cubbies" so I asked him "Did anyone come up and quote to you your line from the 2nd Back to the Future 'I wish I could go back in time and put some money on the Cubbies'" since the Cubs were at the time the reigning WS Champs. His response was "Yeah, that's my fucking line, now do you have something for me to sign or not?!"
I don't get Daniels at all. As for Hamill... He went too far into the woke mist as some are saying now. Before the 2020's, he seemed to be really cool. Then he just kept going on and on about, what really is, cultist lunacy. It's a shame. He was cool once. He can be again but he needs to work for it.
I’m sorry man. Never meet your heroes, kid. I use that term “heroes” as loosely as possible with Mr. Daniels. You can find my comment on your post about going to this convention - i was lukewarm on it. It sounds like you got to spend time with your dad though - that’s something you should really consider yourself fortunate for. ‘The journey is the reward,’ another classic. Edit: @4:57 I said that before the presenter mentioned it. It’s a potentially life-changing and valuable life lesson.
J.J. As someone who also attends pop culture conventions, I feel your pain. But also as someone who’s keeping updated on political issues, I can say that the days of hero worshipping actors are swiftly coming to a close. Once we learn the Diddy and Epstein lists, and learn more of what these actors have been doing in secret, we won’t be looking up to them anymore!
If he was a nice person, he wouldve politely said "thank you for your question, but i can only answer star wars related questions for this convention" then asked if u had any star wars questions for him. Or he could've just answered ur question. Like, it wouldn't hv been the end of the world if he took a few seconds to answer the question.
The fact he wouldn't even humour your question with an answer. You're a paying fan and you asked a simple, completely un-offensive question. Honestly some celebrities think they are "too good" to answer fan questions and get to be rude to people who are literally PAYING to meet them.
Don't worry about him mate. I've lived in LA my entire life. This is what we refer to as just typical celeb/actor behavior. In fact, I'm always surprised if someone is actually nice.
This is news? A friend of mine (retired librarian, brilliant costumer) helped behind the curtains at the DragonCon masquerade (Sorry. Don't have the year) when AD was MCing. His behavior was so rude and insulting that all the volunteers were angry and my friend was reduced to tears. No news here.
Such a shame. If it had been 30-40 years ago, and if they actually did conventions back then, and if you had asked Alec Guinness about one of his other roles, I'm sure he would've loved that, as he did get a bit annoyed at people only asking him about Star Wars. Anthony Daniels is well known to be not very nice.
Some celebrities deserve their fame, but the egotists like Anthony Daniels don't. His career wouldn't exist if not for his fans. The least he could do is pull his head out of his own ass and be kind to them.

I wanted to get my Sallah Funko Pop signed too.
Michael Rosebaum from Smallville was super nice to me.

I find it also helps to follow them on social media beforehand so you can get a (potential) idea of what they’re really like as people.

Kenny Baker was a bigger man than tony daniels..
I met him before he died, very nice guy.

I can't believe he would have such an ego, and he seemed to care only about Star Wars. Like the others say: "Never meet your heroes."

I'm happy I never spent a cent on celebrities in terms of their autographs and tickets for their events. What a waste of resources.

“Get used to to disappointment.”
- Westley, The Princess Bride. That quote is sooo accurate and relevant nowadays.
What you expect from an old gay british dude? Kenny Baker fronted him out decades ago.
Apparently he's straight.
What does being old gay and/or British have to do with him being bad?
Also he's not gay. But yeah Kenny Baker called him out.
Iain McDirmid (Emperor) is old, gay and British also
I saw him at a con here in the UK in 2022.
The only nice main cast members from A New Hope are all in the ground.
Wild that he was only interested in C-3P0, given that he famously hates science fiction and has never watched Star Wars because he thinks it's stupid
*SPITS OUT DRINK* Say What??
He also hated ‘2001:The Space Odyssey’(the only sci-fi movie he watched) but changed his mind much later after George Lucas made him rewatch it to study HAL 9000’s voice.
Matt Doran's promo was ironically a prophetic warning
Should have asked him about the Holiday Special.
Good on you for letting people know what a jerk he is.
Its weird how most other actors are probably tired of talking about star wars.
$200 for an effete robots signature? Madness I tell you! Madness!
Madness?This is Star Wars!
This is why you shouldn't idolize other humans.
Same. They’re both insane and unpopular now.
Mark Hamill can't be that woke, he keeps liking JK Rowling's tweets
Mark tells it how it is, and he triggers Maggots like you over it. 😂
I'd think that actors would love to get some recognition for their more "obscure" roles. Alec Guinness couldn't stand Star Wars fans.
who can blame him. They're all pathetic dorks.
Sadly Daniels has that kind of reputation. He even treated his costar Kenny Baker like crap too.
With half the main cast dead, & mark & harrison being completely derranged, i really though anthony was the last real one left. Who tf was i kidding?
If he was a nice person, he wouldve politely said "thank you for your question, but i can only answer star wars related questions for this convention" then asked if u had any star wars questions for him. Or he could've just answered ur question. Like, it wouldn't hv been the end of the world if he took a few seconds to answer the question.
The fact he wouldn't even humour your question with an answer. You're a paying fan and you asked a simple, completely un-offensive question. Honestly some celebrities think they are "too good" to answer fan questions and get to be rude to people who are literally PAYING to meet them.
Harrison Ford can teach him a thing of being thankful people ask you questions outside Star Wars
I take it this is not the droid you were looking for?
Nice.
He doesn't want to talk about any of his non-Star Wars roles? So he's the opposite of Alec Guiness?
Don't worry about him mate. I'm a movie geek too and i've never met a single celeb except Russell Brand and I didn't know who he was at the time, my Ex started talking to him randomly in London lol
Don't let the actor make you feel differently when watching Star Wars ect
Terminator 2 and Predator are my favorite films since childhood and i'd never want to meet Arnold, he's just a dude but Terminator is a killing machine. Anthony Daniels is just some dude but C-3PO is Human Cyborg Relations lol 🤷♂
@@ronbutler3431 I’m sharing my experience and revelation. Nobody warned me prior, so I was unprepared.
I hope your friend is a woman or they must be a right wuss
Can't wait for Analyzing Evil: Anthony Daniels
Such a shame. If it had been 30-40 years ago, and if they actually did conventions back then, and if you had asked Alec Guinness about one of his other roles, I'm sure he would've loved that, as he did get a bit annoyed at people only asking him about Star Wars. Anthony Daniels is well known to be not very nice.
My friend who used to run sci-fi conventions can confirm he is a nightmare.
Some celebrities deserve their fame, but the egotists like Anthony Daniels don't. His career wouldn't exist if not for his fans. The least he could do is pull his head out of his own ass and be kind to them.
