Skanks for the Memories is the funniest hour of comedy of all time!
Dude - it's 20 years old .... yup, 20 yrs old and STILL the funniest hour of comedy
FULLY AGREE
@@jayneblue2 hands down the funniest!
Not only with the jokes per minute ratio but epic jokes per minute.
To me, it's second only to Robin Williams An Evening at the Met from '85. But Dave kills in Denver: "Ladies, does size really matter?" *women screaming* "Well, the whores have spoken." It's ageless too, minus the M-word stuff that certainly hasn't aged well. (I mean, Peter Dinklage is reason alone to never use the pejorative these days.) But, it was 20 years ago, and Dave clearly has no hate in his heart. Huge fan.
Man. I saw him last night. I'd argue every hr he does is the funniest hour of all time. Unfortunately he did not seem in great health, but he was fucking on point
I saw Dave Attell outside an airport in Canada, I told him he was a great comic and I love him.
He asked me for a lighter, he had a carton of american spirits.
Still a great dude lol
🇨🇦👍👍
cool !!
Dave Attell drip is like an old black uncle.
Aye aye aye
The most fun uncle you could ever get
What the fuck is drip?
He looks like he would play the only white guy Huey and Riley would have liked on boondocks
Ya grammar is like an old black uncle 😂
I got to see Dave live last month in Phoenix. I was absolutely amazed by his set and his ability to riff-off of anything at any given moment. Glad I was able to see the goat live
I love how sweet dave is when he isn't joking compared to how much bite his jokes have when hes joshing people
Dave Attell anywhere...im tuning in. 😎🤙
If you came here to actually listen to Attell, you’ve clearly never heard of Blerp Kranchler
@@whatinthewhatnow5167 😂
Without a doubt one of the absolute greatest
@@whatinthewhatnow5167One of the better Brit Kerschner's I've heard, kudos
Nice to see Bert listening….Dave such a legend!
Attell is a living comic legend, bucket list to see him do standup
he's been touring for like 40 years, what are you waiting for lol
@@KannibalBeatshe’s the best. Truly needs to be seen live
seen him 3 times, he's great@@tsedubgyatso, just wish he wasn't so self-destructive to his own career
Saw Dave live 5 or 6 years ago in Buffalo and he did not disappoint. My friends have stories of meeting him in weird places and him being super kind. His ROAD WORK special is still one of my favs of all time. He did it right.
When you are the best stand up walking the earth it's unlikely to disappoint.
I NEED A SPOILER I NEED A SPOILER !!!!
UA-cam descript says they talk about "....his next special"
Is that hypnotical or is it said that has A NEW UPCOMING SPECIAL
Bert, I called you once when your number went public....you tried to answer and someone in the background told you to hang up! I'll never forget the quick conversation we never had! Still killing and being real, we appreciate you buddy. From another 50 something guy in Oregon.
Slightly creepy but incredibly touching. Bert is the kind of person that would have a great convo with a random stranger that calls
He’s like a modern day Bill Murray.
@@jackzwahlen764 hows that creepy😂 you know everyone is gonna blow his phone up and he gonna change numbers. Might as well shoot ya shot 🤝💪
Breaks my heart when he said he could only afford to record two shows. If Attell released his special with a pay wall or accepting tips I would definitely contribute
I met Dave after a concert in Portland 11 years ago. I’ve seen every comic you could ever want to see but I couldn’t wait to see him. I ran into him on the street after the show. I asked him for a cigarette we talked for about 30 minutes he was the nicest guy. He wrote down on a card, some of his favorite upcoming comedians for me. He was awesome.
who were some of the names he wrote down?
I hope you still have that card and it is framed!
@@thedeftones03 Bert wasn't one I bet
Nobody makes me laugh as hard as Attell. It's that hard belly laugh where your stomach hurts
Dave Attell doing something that might help his career! 😮
Great comic.
Best bercast maybe ever. Dave does limited pods and almost never is sincere. This is the most sincere ive ever heard him. Thanks bart.
Bert’s been bringing him on all his fully loaded tours… he’s literally filling Dave’s pockets with cash. It’s the least he could do!
@@kalikiter1I guess- but Dave doesn’t need that $- he’d be perfectly okay without it. I think he’s just appreciative of Bert among others for revitalizing, and making comedy as big as it is now. Reinventing the wheel in a sense. Love him or hate him, people like Bert, Tom, the skanks, Theo, Bobby & Santino (to name a few) have reached a new level and made comedy a bigger attraction.
It's easily the best bertcast. So much insight. Dave is a legend, and to hear him talk about the comedy game and how its changed over the years is what i love. Also his respect for what bert is doing is amazing.
When Dave said he only did 2 shows for his special because he didn’t have enough money to shoot 4, all I could think was, he’s the most highly respected and beloved comic amongst comics in the world. One call to Joe Rogan is all it would have taken. Joe wouldn’t have even hesitated.
You dont know Dave then. He'd never do that.😅
@@zachleprieur2871 Aww how cute, you think you did something🤣 I do know Dave, and I didn’t say that he would have asked. He wouldn’t have even had to ask, if he had just mentioned in a conversation that he couldn’t afford it there are three dozen comics who would gladly pay for a special for him. Idiot
@@zachleprieur2871 100% he would never
he is so ironic. He should be selling out Madison Square Garden
Dave Atell is the best
Dave Attell probably won’t see this, but I need to exclaim!
In the 90s and early 2000s I’ve watched everything on TV and bout the Insomniac tour dvd.
In 2005, I got to see him in Kuwait on the USO tour that he mentioned. He was amazing and I want to thank him for being there and doing it.
Words can express how it helped my return to Home from Iraq, but those are for me a I won’t share it. Thanks, Dave, for everything!
What ????
I literally asked Dave 2 weeks ago at a meet & great after Addison TX show did have plans to do any podcasts (been hopin)
He said when he had something to promote --- DOES DAVE A PROJECT? Starting pod now
He might've done this pod before you talked to him and it is just now getting posted. I believe someone in the comments insinuated that this had to of been recorded a while ago
Saw Attell and Bert cast and I don’t think I’ve clicked on a video faster
Great duo. Apart from Bert of course.
@@georgesotiriou7051 lol
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Dave is indisputably the funniest man alive, has been for quite a while now - the GOAT, the master.
This is a gift - fingers crossed Bert lets hime talke
True. The only man from his era that is up there is the late Norm Macdonald.
@@georgesotiriou7051 You are EXACTLY right!! Love SO many comics but yes, separate and above them all on an untouchable level of comedy are Dave & Norm. There is no third.
@@georgesotiriou7051 Cant post link For *BEST EVER* Attell story, search youtube: Worst On Stage Breuer (he tells of an unknown Attell opened for him 2001, 80K arena, insane $$ but REQUIRED clean material
Why did you sit on this for so long? Best pod you've put out in months!!
He didn’t.
Bert talking shop with peers is so enjoyable.
i still occasionally go back and listen to the gilbert and attell episode of somethings burning, gilbert pretending to be seinfelds son on stern is pure gold

Dave's such an underrated comic. I remember his show "Insomniac" on Comedy Central, it was my favorite show at the time
One of the best ever!
I wish Dave would come back to Minneapolis one more time, I keep looking for a date as he's always been my favorite. Great interview!
This was awesome! I loved listening to Attell and Burt talk shop, these guys genuinely LOVE stand up and it shows! Excellent interview! 👏🏻
Dave Attell is the best Dave I'm comedy, and hearing him crown someone else his position in comedy is humbling! The absolute best comics of today know Dave Attell is the best to do it...
Atell is probably the best club comedian. But, not the best Dave in comedy. Chappelle has many more prestigious awards and accolades.
@@StonerHesperia I'm talking about funny not accolades.
Dave absolutely killed in Forest Hills. I have seen him many times and that was easily one of his top performances.
I love all the shout outs from Dave Attell in this episode!
Loved insomniac
First time I watched Dave was when he had Insomniac show on HBO back in 2001, I was 19 yo. I loved it, I didnt know he was a comedian back then. Im from Argentina, here stand up wasnt too popular at that time, outside Seinfeld. Later on I watched his bits on YT and I liked him even more. Such a cool and chill dude.
"I just shot sometihing .... I'm hoping to get a tight half-hour..." ---- How is every other Attell fanatic NOT commenting, blown away by this
Funniest of all time actually releasing a new long awaited special
The GOAT doing multiple comedy pods to promote
Skanks for the memories!!!! Enough said...!!!
Dave Attell, thank you! You are the best! I hope you understand how much you are respected and loved.
Dave Attell is one of the all-time best club comics -- meant to be seen in a smaller to mid-sized clubs in general. Don't miss him if he's coming to your area!
My favorite comedian of all time. I've seen him three times and it's all been different and hilarious.
I just listened to this after the 6/15/23 Baltimore Fully Loaded date & the show was absolutely amazing on the production end hearing how you planned it out!!
Great line up & Dan Soder especially killed it!!
I'm so excited to see this! I have loved Dave Attell since Skanks for the memories
when Bert mentioned Skanks For The Memories I oaused the pod and listened to the album and came back to the pod. I love that album so much.
So pumped to see Bert and Dave tonight
Worlds greatest comic hands down i wont dare say his name
Fully loaded last night in queens was the best live show I’ve ever seen
Dave is the master, there's absolutely no one in stand up comedy like him and they all clearly revere him, even Bernt Chrysler seems a bit bewildered sometimes
Have you seen the old episode with him and Segura? They fanboy over Dave for an hour and a half while he roasts them mercilessly. It's a good one.
I had a crush on Dave back in the late 90s he came through Nashville and was supposed to stop by our punk rock venue for his like over night late night show....we got bumped. Never got to meet him. Hes a genius and love him.
We need a theo and dave collab
+1
love them both but I could honestly see the chemistry not quite finding its groove
@@KannibalBeats i could see that.. only one way to find out tho lol
You and Dave have such a great rapport Bert. Such a good interview and insight into the mechanics of standups between two vets
Seeing Dave live in Forest Hills on the 1st night of Fully Loaded is the highlight of anything in my comedy world. Gillis and Soder crushed it too
Soder is the fucking man and I'm so angry at myself for not realizing that sooner.
@@davidlee2424 he's so good live. If you get the chance do it
I'll remember this pod forever. Skanks for the memories guys!
Classic
bert we are huge fans..........and attell....legend love from the kalahari desert south africa
Kinda crazy but when he said ‘where’s the cinnamon on the oatmeal. At an hour n six minutes I had literally just put cinnamon on my oatmeal. Lol
Dave is such a legend. I was lucky to see him when he was doing college/university tours in the early 2000s... he introduced me to a word that makes nearly any normal person laugh... MONKEYPU$$Y!!!! 🤣
We're not worthy! We're not worthy!!
Ok so that was me at the Calgary Show and I said it was better the first time you told it. It changed on the second show. And sorry for running up and shaking your hand. Your Canadian Doppelgänger!!!
I saw you!!!! Hahaha
"Do you have a bigger stump?" hahahahaaa
I never clicked so fast. Attell is a legend
Right ?!?" Dave doing a freaking podcast !!
Whitney's in March doesnt count, she literallyt wouldnt let him talk ... wait ... isnt that Berts thing? Staying optimistic
Attell was always the funniest Dave.
What a treat for a comedy nerd!
Greatest comedian touring today. Saw him in raleigh nc, his act had twice as many jokes as anyone else and they all land.
“Death by a Thousand Paper Cuts” should be the name of Dave’s special that Bert produces.
Attell’s love for his friend Gilbert is so cool, Dave rules!❤
Dave, never stop. I want your drink on my table again. God damn you were funny!
Dave seems like such a sweet guy off stage. So happy I got to see him live!
Oh my. I snort laughed at Dave's flip phone/queen joke. He really is a prop comic. ;)
Attell is the best comic ever. Skanks was a masterpiece.
New drinking game: Take a shot every time Dave says "you know"
Whatever you do don't drink every time he says "like"
i love how bert always says to each comic that they are the funnest that he has ever seen to every comic and that is so nice of him ........ love from hamilton ontario canada
Always Bert=tongue bath, lick balls, tongue bath , cup balls, BUT nothing new or original to add and no where near Dave’s comedic level yet tries to act like an equal. Drop out when needed, BK. Great guest, weak interviewer.
I saw Dave at the Schaumburg improv a few years ago. A table in front of us, (but not close enough to interrupt the show) talked over Dave’s whole set… next time he’s in chicago, I’m getting there early and sitting close so I don’t miss a word of it ❤
Same during one of many Attell shows, infuriating --
There's a standup Dave did, a half hour that aired on comedy central presents in 99, which they finally posted on youtube, I thought it was the funniest shit I ever saw when I was 10. Watching again and I'm in awe at the rapid pace Dave goes at, just joke after joke, one of the tightest sets I've ever seen. Fucking hilarious - do yourself a favor and look it up, "You Ever Black Out? Or as I Call It, Time Travel?"
Saw Dave at Penguins in Davenport back in '05! Face hurt well into the following day from laughing so hard!
Thanx Bert and Dave Attell You Guys Made My day. Insomniac Saved Me from some Dark Places TY Dave ;- }
You could shoot Dave's special on a Hi8 camera at a dive bar and it would be better than 99% of stand up specials out today.
Dave is hilarious. Just saw him live.
Can honestly say that I didn't want this conversation to end. Great chat gents
Dave is great. Glad to see him
30min of Dave Attel is equivalent to 90 min of material from these new comedians.
I think compared to Dave most stand ups working today have zero minutes of material.
Dave is such a treasure - and looks great for a 58 year old Lebanese hobo : )
Attell ❤ all time favorite
The Best and the best Machine!
best line of this entire podcast hahahah "this reminds me of apple records, get a good accountant" hahaha
I have seen a stand up comedian three times in three years to only see the same set each time. Once each year. Still fun if you bring a new friend each time. Working a set takes times when you are also making movies.
Bert, what's up with the life preserver? Dork thinks he's going to drown.
I'm the BEST repeat show attendee, because I almost never remember a punchline, so I laugh just as hard the second or third time I hear a joke as I do the first time. It's why I LOVE watching comedians, especailly over the years as they mix up old and new material. And honestly, I've had a crush on Dave for more than 25 years, but haven't been able to see a live show yet- life gets in the way. So does poverty.
I could listen to dave speak all day
Dave is the goat of comedy and he looks like goat 😂 Dave is king!
Just saw him at wiseguys. Literally wearing the EXACT same outfit. Hat + dew rag and all 😂
Gilbert Godfrey's dice special is a absolute classic! Dave Attell knows funny!
This was a great watch.
Skans for the memories is easily the top 5 stand up albums of all time.
Dave's so slick... When him and Bert were being so complimentary at the beginning I thought dave was doing it backhandedly🤣🤣
Hard to believe that Dave is talking more than Brett
Bert doing the ad read, made me want a High Life. Ice cold beer.... yummmy yummmy.
Great podcast! ❤
I think I'm less of an Attell fan than he is, but man do I love to see him hang out, furiously funny ❤
My favorite Longshore man
@@Mr_Bert_Kreischer omg so cool
Listening to this a minute without watching, I realized Sam Morril is a Dave Attell impersonator. Copped his timbre, cadence, attitude... everything but the do rag.
Dave was the first comedian I ever seen. I want to say i was a child damn near. I was with my parents. I also remember Carlos Mencia was there as well. I remember Dave telling a joke about a Jäegermeister commercial.
