Desperadoes has a huge gap to close ...... Just as in preliminary stage ...too many line repeats ..... While it is Zanda's signature layering style of arranging .... Imagine eliminating those multiple repeats .... The song would be half the actual time ....... Just some examples of the 10 hook- lines by VOICE ....Woah Yah Yoah was repeated 14 times ...... I Love Soca 14 times ... All Ah We 16 times ... With some other hook lines 8 to 10 times .... In no way am I suggesting he is not a prolific arranger .... The other arrangers are giving it their ALL so he will have to FIX ... The judges will decide as he would have gotten their suggestions on the score sheet ... His interpretation is spot on ...and never drifted from the original melodies ....One Foot Culture, Jump Up and Ten Thousand Coming Strong .... Great hook lines ..... Still one of the best arrangements ... Voice is great at hook lines and those inviting Call and Response inserts ...
In competition you never come 2nd 3rd or 4th ...instead you lose 1st ... No one competes to come SECOND third or fourth etc.
Factual analysis. Also, this original song is a SOULful one by the singer Voice, and Zanda usually touches the depths and pulls on heart strings...but this one ain't it. However, I don't think the judges will let them go below 4th for the finals...I just don't see it happening (we shall see)
