In my opinion it was one of the best role in his career, I appreciated because Ning yi was very complex character. He could make me feel sad, happy, sympathy, angry, silly, and etc.
True, It's hard to act a role like that , but he was so fine and professional. Ning Yi is one of my favorite characters of all time.

I stumbled on the tv series The Rising of the Phoenixes and was in awe with the costume and set designs and amazing cinematography. Got hooked with storyline and was able to watch the whole series in 4 days. Nini who plays the leading actress is one of the most beautiful woman in my opinion.

I am currently watching 'Lost in 1949'. I must say I'm also impressed with the works of all actors. Bravo!

Oh! Chen Kun is my favorite and very first ever celebrity crush! I’m 49 Native American (feathered “Indian”)and have never cared about any celebrities at all until I watched The Rise of the Phoenixes last year after only watching two previous cdramas. I’ve never watched them before. After watching TROP, I’ve became obsessed by learning all about him. The more I learned, the more I was blown away by how hard he works and the things he’s involved in. I watched as many interviews as I could find. I started learning mandarin because of him. I practice brush writing even. I doubt I’d ever get to see him in person, I know if I did, I would not even know what to say. I think he is probably the most beautiful man I’ve seen. Even more interesting I find that he becomes more beautiful as he ages. I’ve watched everything I could find by him and am dying to see The Yin Yang Master. His Power to Go movement is so powerful. I’m actually proud to be his fan. I read somewhere he plays the cello, I play the cello, I wish I could see/hear him play. I wish I could be a part of his Power to Go. The terrain reminds me of the areas I’m from. My tribe is from an area near Crater Lake. Ha ha I’m typing all of this as you are speaking. Of course its gorgeous and I wish it was stronger with more of the novel in it too but I get that there's censorship and just weird writing choices. Then, The Rise of Phoenixes happened in my life and now, am completely hooked on C-Dramas. AND ON CHEN KUN. I am obssessed by his acting skills. Have rewatched the Rise of Phoenixes, Lost in 1949, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate for the umpteenth time. Am so in love with his acting skills and his TV persona. I literally would hold my breath while watching him at times, he was that captivating. It is really good to know what a solid human being he is all around, totally NOT just another pretty face(though my GOD is he pretty and handsome too!) I can't wait to watch more of his talented self going forward. He inspires me to be sure I'm also moving toward living my fullest life because that's what I see him doing so beautifully! Actually "Kun 坤” is a very powerful hexagram in Yi Jing, which represents the absolute Yin, the empress or the Earth, and is very firm and stable. People usually don't use "Qian 乾“ （The absolute Yang or the Sky）in their names, because only figures like emperors can take on the power of the Sky. I watched 金粉世家 The Story of a Noble Family when I was very young. But to this day, I still remember Chen Kun being extremely, extremely handsome and dashing in that drama. Just the PERFECT portrayal of a naive and spoiled rich boy. I can’t think of anyone who has topped his performance (of this type of character) in this following decade of Chinese dramaland.
Contrary to many young girls at that time, I actually never liked that character of his even before the plot took a turn and...I won’t spoil the ending for anyone...if you know, you know...
(I read the original novel and he was even worse in there. The scriptwriter already lightened up this 渣男 character a lot.)
I have always been kinda allergic to cute rich boys😂 but still, I completely 1000% understand why that poor girl in the story would fall for him and marry into his (very problematic) family.

I first saw him in Rise of the Phoenixes and I’m hooked! He was so good. I’m learning Chinese and I watch a lot of his interviews. He has a great voice and he doesn’t talk fast. He takes the time to think before he speaks. He was so good as Ning Yi and I’m mad he and Ni Ni didn’t get together in the drama. I can’t wait for The Weary Poet!

Chen Kun seems like such a beautiful person. I love this video. It is nice getting to know more about him. You should finish Rise of the Pheonixes. He gives a very powerful performance as Ning Yi. It was the first show I saw him in and then I went on the hunt for more! He definitely leaves quite an impression.

The Rise of Phoenix was the first C-dramas I watched in more than a decade. Chen Kun looked very familiar & I realized he was Romeo in the Pink Ladies, comedy drama I watched in 2002. Now I know he is a superactor. Congratulations for your achievement!

About half an hour or so ago, I finished watching Lost in 1949 starring Chen Kun playing twin brothers. It is part tragedy and part comedy. I watched Chen Kun in absolute awe, if you haven't seen it as yet, please do, it has so much to tell you about life! I am now a Chen Kun fangirl@@

Ahh I finished Yin Yang master last month and I was so impressed with Chen Kun's acting! I'm not very happy with the plot lol but I'm so amazed at Chen Kun I'm now watching The Rise of the Phoenixes. His every expression is so on point and really draws me in. I will definitely check out all his other famous works you mentioned (I hope I can find one with subs!). Thank you and I love this video!

I would be happy if I knew I could have possibly been in close proximity with my favorite celebrity as well. Cause I know that's the closest distance I'd ever get with them. But Chen Kun is also like Zhou Xun, where they elude this sophisticated aura that no one can seem to touch. It's no wonder they are such close friends that are working together. I understand you can't mention everything but i really like Chongqing Hotpot and I later realised Qin Hao was in that movie as well.
