It's interesting to see that in this timeline, Sukarno is a traitor to Indonesia rather than a hero. Think of how different things would be due to the extended Japanese occupation. The Monas, GBK, Istiqlal, etc. would most likely never be finished due to the civil war and Sukarno's tainted legacy. I think this scenario might've also happened if Indonesia takes the PPKI's offer of "independence" instead of taking it itself, turning Indonesia into a puppet state of Japan. We definitely need more Indonesian alternate history stories. I just read up a scenario in the Kaiserreich universe where Indonesia never formed and gained only partial independence from the Dutch in the 1930s. There's a Sultanate of Java, Second Lanfang Republic, Kingdom of Bali, and various Moluccan city states. All of this would form into a republic in the 60s known as "Insulindia" instead of "Indonesia"
