Keep up your daily videos i love your content and all your older machines. I come from a farming background and are spending time with my sick son in hospital and takes my mind off what's going on thanks duffy
Hello from Kirkville NY (East Syr) 62 yr old farm boy and wish I was Chisel plowing back in the day got to to alot of chiselin w a brand new 4640 w/duals
Like the content, love the old iron. I work for a small farm operation in central Oklahoma cutting hey on a 1490 case. I think that was a good camera view. I could see what you was doing and could see the equipment good. Keep up the videos, I enjoy watching them on my down time. Happy Farming
Hello, I work as a Aluminum and glass facade installer in Sweden. So I was thinking, maybe you should try mounting your camera with a suction cup? We lift glass panes with glass lifter/puller suction cups. The ones we use have three cups with a simple cam locker on each cup and a handle, and are a bit bulky. They also loose their suction after a while so they wouldn't work so good in your application. But I know there are smaller, one cup handles that you pump with your thumb, maybe one of those will be both a better size to mount a camera to, and will hold their vacuum longer? You should ask around and see if there are suction cups that would suit your needs.
If your roads are anything like ours I think you'd struggle getting his air cart around least of all the tool bar. But seeing the size of their fields I can see why he can seem a little crazy but his wife certainly spoils him with his tractor snacks and lunch.
I enjoyed the camera angles. I agree tractor probably needs a bit more power. I definitely would have went with a slightly bigger model even if it cost a bit extra. Keep the videos coming. Be safe.
man you should trade that in on a jd 4455 fwd if you need extra power with them you just turn the screw a little bit and they have 200hp and run excellent i love your videos and keep up the hard work i am not a fan of newer tractors you just cant beat the older stuff
We got our 6150r deleted (no horsepower tune)seems to have a little more power, probably because all the exhaust is going to turbo and not egr, plus the less restrictive exhaust. You should get a set of duals, preferably axle duals if you can fit them on the axle (looks like you should be able to) that and some weights in the rear will totally transform that tractor. If you feel you need, a 20 or 30 or maybe 40 horse tune would be good without sacrificing reliability. The 6M series only goes to 6195m, and the 6155m is the biggest of the mid size 6M’s. The engine is good for 200 horses easy, but I’m not sure how much heavier the rest of the drivetrain is in a big frame M than a mid frame M. But it’s something to think about for sure. One last thing: our 6150r sounds AWESOME deleted.
I think you're doing a good job with what you got there I used to live in that area years ago I lived over in the Lincoln area off and route to work for a big produce stand just off 128 headed west Lawson stand and orchard had a side of the mail where I worked The cider Mill for years then moved to Maine in the area where you are I pick carrots over in that area for a family use only love watching you you're doing good work which they keep more times in that area and stop building subdivisions
6 series tractors are spray and manure tractors something light duty. We run a Deere 7930 and a worked 4960 and 2 Steiger panthers is our field tractors our 5 and 6 series stay ond the farm and hay side of our operation and our old 4960 has more weight or different center of gravity because it by far out pulls the 7930 and out pulls our stiegers where the articulates start hopping the 49 pulls but its not happy pulling our DMI or 12 row zone builder all day like the steigers are but when we bury big stuff we turn to the 49 for traction and pull power.
Get rid of that tractor and pick you up a good 4960 front wheel assist . No electronics or codes to deal with and easy 250 HP. They will pull as much as the 7520. I used to run one we pulled a 32 ft IH 490 harrow and a 14 shank IH chisel plow. Also ran a 5 bottom 18 inch IH flip plow.
I was just thinking that it's pretty cool watching your operation compared to the big ones like Mike specifically because of the differences in your challenges, small irregularly shaped fields in the middle of the forest, and smaller equipment by necessity.
Talk to Farm Focused. They do the tuning and work with creators as well, especially with you travelling for your job, perhaps you could become a dealer. A set of duals and weights would make that a different tractor.
I was thinking the same thing, duals and weight. You don't have to go all four just the two rears with 750lbs on each dual and this tractor would use 2/3rds the fuel of your 7520 and run 1.5mph faster than it is now. You do know that slipping uses more power?
Looked at 6M's a couple years ago when we were in the market, and was NOT impressed. Cab is small and junkie looking. Didn't realize they were that weak. Glad we went with a 125 Maxxum. Pulls a 9-shank in our heavy clay soils just fine, with all the ammenities of an R-series for 10's of thousands cheaper. New JD's sure are different than the old Iron Horses.
I think that the 6155 is the largest size in the small frame 6000 series. The 6175 and larger are quite a bit heavier. I would look closely at an ekotune.
pops probably should of got a 6230R or 6250R and probably the wish 7r 230/7r 250 if your gonna spend the money then get something that would do everything you need done. I get size is a limiting factor, so you'd just need a car/truck with lights to head traffic off. I pray that you'll get more properties and can grow.
For the smooth ride across the fields it's the length of the wheelbase and weight. Your 7520 is heavier and the axles are farther apart, giving you a smoother ride.
The 6135m-6155m are the mid sized chassis, while the 6175m and 6195m are large, the 6155m could possibly do just under 200hp but more than likely the engine would suffer
@@DuffyAg yeah I was looking it up there , you could max get 206hp at the flywheel if you were too chip the 6155m , but I’d think you’d need wider tyres or duals to put the power down or wheel weights
I would go back to seven shanks until you get that code fixed. Maybe it will pull easier with fixing whatever is causing that code. It seems 155hp should be enough to pull nine shanks though. Chisel plows do pull hard. Back in the day I used to run an Allis 7000 series on a Glencoe seven shank and it was all it could handle.
Hi Chris, What would happen to your operation if you went to "no till ,no chemicals" Loving the content. We have not started tilling yet ,up here in the North East Kingdom .
Appreciate it. And we called a few times over the last few year about buying a new tractor. No salesmen ever came out or called back and never the idea of a demo. Dealership hasn't had a new 100+hp tractor on the lot in many years
If deere had there way you the cpmuter wouldn't allow you to detete anything or tune it, they are relly agenst right to repair, you should look it up if you don't know. And about the horse power that is why ECMs do the same tractore that just has a diferent fuel map and makes more horse power, they have been doing it for a while and for ECMs they are expensive to tune since the tools are expensive for no reasone. And on deleting the emmison parts, depends how the computer is ste up, maybe just a pice of tape over the sensor could work, maybe it would pic up a constant signal as a fault, would actulay need one and try it to see.
IMO you shot Definitely invest in some dash cameras for the front and rear on all the machinery that gets ran on the road alot, so for all the main tractors and definitely need them in the semis. They will save your ass she. You get into an accident! And now days you can get a decent camera for 20 bucks it's not worth it to not have them in 2021 especially dealing with such narrow roads especially with having the park right there.
Weld a 3 point on the cultivaror and the wheels adjusteble on the front for the dept and put the tracktor on depthcontrol and Johnny wil play with the cultivator.

To plow a straight row, you look for an object at the other end of the field, keep the center of the tractor on that object!! HA! HA! I know you know how to plow!! just busting your chops- when I farmed, my sweet wife would bring my lunch, and we'd have lunch where ever I was! even milking cows, eat with one hand, milk with the other!
Lol put some pedal to the metal to break it in you are 2 litre short of the 7520 but you are heavier just .4 mph is not slow its all in the mind set 161k takes some finding as you know great video keep them coming
Might help to take out a little air out of the tires and weight down your tractor or duals for the rear I'd have to say that your 6155 is very much not running right I have chiseled with the same size plow and was using a duetz 130 4x4 and it was nothing for that tractor so if under warranty still send it off somewhere
It does need rear weight but it's not a traction it's a power issue at this point. These chisel plows have the big shovels and are going down 12 inches. It takes all of the power my 7520 has some times and that's over 240hp
Why don't you just tell him that the tractor is no good at doing field work and if he ask tell him it's loosing to much power and it moves to slow and it's gutless. Just an idea to sort out the tractor 🚜😉.
