It used to be a time the church knew this. The further some get away from God the more blind you will become to the real solution. Jesus is the prince of peace. It's not easy being presiding bishop of any denomination! You gotta see to the duties of cogic, then run your own church, then if you're married and got a family, make sure they're good, a lot of responsibilities at all times. I'm baptist but my respect to bishop sheard
Nothing wrong with spiritual counseling or traditional counseling. I believe traditional counseling it’s beneficial because they cannot speak spiritually because of so many different religions. I believe they was still sent by God. He gave them a job to do to help his people.
This is a small clip but if a major Bishop or Pastor would teach from the pulpit the signals of when you need counseling. And give biblical examples. We’re supposed to seek wise counsel.
The truth is a lot of Bishops in the Pentecostal holiness church are not walking with God like they should. All this so called liberation. Let me make it real plain. The women wear earrings when Jacob specifically told his children to get rid of idols and they included their earrings. They wear make up. They wear pants. They are friends to the same people who sing secular music about things the bible condemns But when these things are pointed put they are the people who defend them are ready to go to war about us judging. No he said come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord. Touch not the unclean thing. In another place he said for his people to come out of the whore of Babylon unless his people would partake in the same Plauge as she has to suffer. No saints should have anxiety, fear, depression etc. Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee for he trusts in thee. (Isaiah) In his presence is the fullness of joy. I didnt just start walking God yesterday and God gave me this peace even when our place burned down and we only had the clothes on our back. In fact when I pulled up to meet my wife at the property the Lord saith you shall recover it all. And we did with extra. But there was no sadness , madness or confusion. But we have to walk with God. We cant cater to the world and expect to have these benefits. The more worldy the church the less your hear of peace and joy and the more we hear of church folks have the same mental response as the world. Geez I wonder why?
I, too am critical of many wrong directions of COGIC; nonetheless, COVID was real. Tragically, COVID-19 took many many lives. It was a period of much distress. God's grace sparred many. I drove Lyft part-time and stopped about week after most people stopped working due to one pickup brother in car who I strongly sensed through his cough was COVID active.
A progressive church isn’t one that accepts sin and calls it right. A truly progress church is one that embraces new ideas that promote health and wellbeing for spirit, soul and body. This Bishop is progressive and we thank God for his example.
You are a man of God and you are leading by example. There’s nothing wrong if you needed counseling. More of us need it but we are too proud.
