This is what truly upsets me. If they wanted to know how you reason, there are other ways they could ask you questions. Someone come up with really tricky questions for the explicit purpose to eliminate you from employment. That is demented. Alot of people dont think super fast on their feet. So you give them a pressurized test of things that barely make sense and give them a short amount of time. Then they know their very employment and livelihood is on the line? You think that person is going to think really fast?

I just took numerical test 18 Q in 17 minutes and verbal test 30 Q in 17 minutes. You need undergrad math or statistics and data analysis skills to get them all and verbal analysis is strange to say the least. I got my BA Hons degree in 2021 but had no clue how to do the numerical in the required test time.
Update. Did a second numerical test that was completely different to the previous one. This time I had blocks of five questions, I had to work out the first five with each question appearing on screen for 19 seconds and then an answer box appeared for 10 seconds. The answer box had a button that had to be clicked as enter did not work. The next set had 18 second to work the answer out and 10 seconds to enter answer, each block lost a second of working out time and the questions got harder. In the end I had 14 seconds to work out a long math question and 10 seconds to enter answer. I missed the answer time a few times by missing hit apply. Did not get through the assessment round. Did not get to interview round. These firms need to stop using these types of assessments as they are practically impossible.

the line sequence question is wrong. Both AZ and BY show lines to 19. BY should have dashed arrow to 28.
How is the general ability test scored? Can I score half points on questions? And if I have to take the general ability test and the personality test are they considered as one assessment? Can one test balance my lower performance in the other? Thank you
As for the second part of the question - these are considered two different assessments. While an employer might choose to give your personality profiling score precedence over your cognitive ability (or vice versa), these scores do not affect one another, and your employer will receive them as separate scores.

Is it just me or does the first question not actually make sense? 540 new clients but the graph totals only allow 375...wtf
Numeric answer is wrong. Northern region cold calls and client initiated was not mentioned. Thus, any numbers adding up to 240 for CC and 120 for CI with a difference of 84 for southern region CC-CI are correct answers.
The number of Client Initiated in the North region isn't mentioned, but it is derived from the fact that the percentage division of Client Initiated between North and South is determined at 60%-40% (note the comment about the yellow lines). From the general conditions of the question, the total number of CI is 120, and therefore the number of Client Initiated in the South has to be 48.

@@JobtestprepUk Hello, if the Northen produce 40% more than Southern region, then why 60% - 40%? Shouldn't be like X+ (X+40%ofX) = 540 ?
I also got stuck with this as well. I thought the graph on the screen is the one you need to change, not where you get your assumptions from.

I found that a bit strange myself, as it is the solution and not provided to the one taking the test. I will assume that the solution is wrong
Is there negative marking for incorrect answers?
By and large, no points are redacted for wrong answers. This means it's better to guess than to leave a question unanswered. This is true on any SHL test unless you are explicitly told otherwise on the instructions.
What's the language about the exam? is there Arbic??

This kind of test itself is very inaccurate. Without face-to-face communication with people, it is impossible to understand a person's personality through some questions. If you need to study before taking a test, then this test is destined to be inaccurate. Yes, the test is not an exam

Also, most of the questions shown are just wrong or inconsistent with the answers given.
There is no dashed line from BY to 28.
The names for the editing desk question are all wrong, and just because one of them is listed as having lunch from 1-2pm (doesn't include 12:30), doesn't mean that they will be at the editing desk; they could be in a meeting etc., even though it is likely that they will be editing.

This is a scam... i Paid 3 months for using shl preppack, and is empty, nobody responds to you, the reinburse is not posible because nobody responds anything.
This is so true. Do not pay for their practice exams at all. I also will add that all companies using this service need to stop because their tests are not reflective of the jobs. For example, why is there a deductive test given for a job title that is an IT position, when the questions are scheduling questions and do not have anything to do with IT. Employers please stop using this vendor.

This whole testing method is so stupid especially for defence force recruitments, basic and simple maths is vital aswell with abstract reasoning but for certain roles such as combat roles will you be using inductive/deductive reasoning when you’re on the battle field or holding a gun it’s so stupid they want rocket scientist behind the uniform
This type of test is terrible. It controls a person's professional fate without considering the test status if it is under a specific circumstance and it must done at a specific time. Therefore the test results are inaccurate, we cannot determine people's abilities depending on these results. People's actual abilities appear when job opportunities are available in a stimulating work environment.

Same here, I feel that I could have done something more meaningful than solving some shape puzzles. My negotiation, presentation and selling skills were thrown into their trash bin as I was not able to solve their rubik games kind.

I feel you, im so upset about this test. This is just someones ego in play. They get to force people to take a test that has nothing to do with their field. Unless they are in accounting or NASA. If I have to learn some trick to pass each question, you arent really seeing my cognitive ability. This test has nothing to do with my field. How many people are being screwed out of their jobs because of these test?
