Great testimony. Went through similar. Except diving into physics lead me to believe what I thought I knew about the Bible was wrong. I thought christians just didn't understand what the texts were really saying because it was all metaphor and hyperbole used to make sense of metaphysics string theory etc. Image being light. made in his image took on a new meaning. Son of God. It all made "better" sense. Didn't take long for my marriage to start suffering etc. Thank GodThe Lord pulled me out of it and restored me to my faith.

I always liked gnosticism and esotericism, I find it fascinating, but I never understood how anyone could believe all of that and NOT believe that God is God and Christ is the promised Savior. Jesus Christ basically told the apostles that God will give them superpowers through faith, to move mountains, to walk on water, to heal the sick and dying... to take that and then say, "hurr durr I'm god now" is just... it's ridiculous. if you're God, create a universe. create literally anything that isnt made of what already exists. create an original idea lol.

This question is not for me but for a friend. Can a Christian do the stretches of Yoga only without practicing the meditation or anything else it teaches? Or does it all go hand in hand?
underground0331 No. The physical aspects of yoga cannot be separated from the spiritual. I recommend you research yoga more deeply. I did yoga for 10 years. I now do something called “Essentrics”. It is physically similar to yoga without the spiritual stuff. Look into it as an alternative. It’s really fantastic. Pilates is also a great alternative.

I had to leave a Chronicles of Narnia fan board I joined when the first film came out in my late teens. Staff were ardent Roman Catholics and liberal Protestants, pushing ideas of old earth creationism and Jesus appearing on other planets. Christian parents are having a very difficult time passing on the faith to their children. They surround their kids with Christian culture. Their kids memorize the scriptures they are given but the words are going into the head and not the heart in many cases. We are beings made up of spirit, soul, and body and while the mind does need to be renewed by the word of God the spirit man is being neglected almost totally, especially by the church. That new spirit is in an infant stage in the new believer and that infant spirit has to be nurtured. That spirit is in contact with the Holy Spirit who is also given at the new birth. It is that "experience" of being in touch with the Holy Spirit at the new birth that is pushed aside and is not nurtured. Much of the church downplays that "emotional" aspect of the new birth. Most churches are so cut off from the spiritual side of their faith that they are uncomfortable with emotion. The new believers are told that they need to concentrate on the renewing of the mind and the realities of this life. NO. Read through your New Testament. We need the renewing of the mind and the maturing of the spirit - BOTH and equally. The spirit man has to be nurtured into spiritual maturity. It is the carnal part of us that has to be taught to follow after that new spirit that has been imparted. That is the major part of the Good News! We have been given that new spirit so we can contact our Father in heaven! We have the "washing of the new birth and the renewing of the HOLY SPIRIT! Steven had a revelation of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It was certainly an experience but it is an experience that the Lord wants to duplicate day by day with his people through his Holy Spirit. This is the crux of the problem within the church today and why the youth is not staying even after much undergoing an indoctrination into Christianity throughout their childhood. Humanity yearns for spiritual fulfillment. Having contact with the spirit of God through the new born from above spirit is a fulfillment beyond anything the mind could ask or think, exceedingly beyond our highest thoughts, hopes and dreams. Some groups of Christians are so terrified of "lying signs and wonders that they have forbidden the true signs and wonders that Christ opened the door for the believers to have. Sadly, some Pentecostal churches have become so dry and in such a rut that they go off into tangents made up of nothing but the flesh. When you lose touch with the true Holy Spirit of God then all that is left is flesh. Churches that do not nurture the spirit either go off on fake spiritual tangents or they forbid any aspect of the true walk of the spirit and enjoy having man run their ultra boring services. The Holy Spirit is not boring but neither is he weird....a bit non traditional but not weird and never boring. Submitting a meeting of believers to the leading of the Holy Spirit seems to be the most difficult thing for church leadership to do. Paul spent much of his time trying to get these groups of new believers into order but at no time did he ever forbid the move of the Holy Spirit. We are supposed to be spiritual beings first. The flesh is supposed to be brought into submission to the Spirit of God that resides in us. Our spirit hears from the Holy Spirit and passes that revelation to the mind. The new spirit that we are given is supposed to be hearing from the Holy Spirit all the time but if you are following your carnal mind instead of learning to submit to the spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh then you will only be following the law as the Jews did before Christ. If that was enough then Christ would not have had to suffer and die so that we could become new creations. We are not new in any other way than in the spirit part of us. Isn't it time to start submitting to the word of God instead of ignoring the parts of the New Testament that makes us feel uncomfortable as most churches have? There is a spirit realm and ignoring it has led to this disaster in our country and the overwhelming unleashing of the kingdom of darkness. God shut the kingdom of darkness out of our realm but if human beings summon those evil entities they can allow them in. It is up to the church to keep the kingdom of darkness out of our realm! But if you don't even acknowledge the Holy Spirit how are you going to deal with evil spirits?
Not true..my son grew up in my faith but while we read the bible I explained not only the verses and passages, but the evidence behind each part of it ..the historicity of the bible; creation/chance aka DNA doesnt mutate new body plans, etc; witnesses to resurrection; anything and everything apologetic..I explained different religions and where their theology failed and why...but really...Jesus did most of it.

As a Christian I was very confused and scared myself when I looked at the evidence for reincarnation. How young children were able to remember their past lives with such certainty and specifics was, and is, very overwhelming. Besides the bible and my religion, its still hard for me to totally dismiss and its hard for me to completely ignore.

On top of all of that, my major was in Psychology. According to my professor, there's actually an explanation for reincarnation. Apparently its the mind tapping into the "universal unconscious" and accessing (hacking might be a better term) the memories (NOT the life itself) of someone else. Not explicitly Biblical I know, but what is clear enough is that we are "appointed once to die". The great danger of spiritual mediocrity is inherent in the belief of reincarnation; the idea of "Oh well I'll get it better the next time I get recycled" mentality instead of actively and consciously perfecting yourself within a relationship with God.

Steven seems quite sincere but not very deep or nuanced. For example he conflates panentheism and pantheism, which are very different.
I don't think he conflates them. He viewed Christ from a pantheistic perspective when he was practicing occultism. That perception changed the more he learned about Him.

Doesn't Luke 17:21 say "...the kingdom of God is within you."? Also, why are aliens brought into this mix? I once saw something at night, in the sky, that was outside our atmosphere that convinced me there are most likely aliens out there...cuz honestly I don't think humans are smart enough to have that technology yet. It's not a Christian symbol. It's origin is satanic. It's called Triquetra or Trinity Knot (not Holy Trinity). The symbol is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolize the Triple Goddess, or as a protective symbol. It comes in many shapes. I have only ever seen this symbol associated with the new age or occult. Idk why Apologia doesn't know this.

I'm not pointing fingers here, but this is bothering me so I'm going to mention it. The advertising here seems excessive. Is the goal to make money or bring the message of Jesus to the people? People like Joe rogan are successfully spreading their message of secular humanism and the new age relatively ad free. And in comparison it almost makes their message seem less selfishly inspired than the message that is supposed to be for the glory of God

New Age as described by the guest sounds a lot like run of the mill Gnosticism.
I always liked gnosticism and esotericism, I find it fascinating, but I never understood how anyone could believe all of that and NOT believe that God is God and Christ is the promised Savior. Jesus Christ basically told the apostles that God will give them superpowers through faith, to move mountains, to walk on water, to heal the sick and dying... to take that and then say, "hurr durr I'm god now" is just... it's ridiculous. if you're God, create a universe. create literally anything that isnt made of what already exists. create an original idea lol.

This question is not for me but for a friend. Can a Christian do the stretches of Yoga only without practicing the meditation or anything else it teaches? Or does it all go hand in hand?
underground0331 No. The physical aspects of yoga cannot be separated from the spiritual. I recommend you research yoga more deeply. I did yoga for 10 years. I now do something called “Essentrics”. It is physically similar to yoga without the spiritual stuff. Look into it as an alternative. It’s really fantastic. Pilates is also a great alternative.

I had to leave a Chronicles of Narnia fan board I joined when the first film came out in my late teens. Staff were ardent Roman Catholics and liberal Protestants, pushing ideas of old earth creationism and Jesus appearing on other planets. It was very divisive, especially because people like me who held fast got labeled close-minded flat earthers. Terrible..... I am glad Mr. Bancarz is sharing his conversion story. Hopefully, the men and women at that Narnia venue will get corrected and/or saved, if they've not yet known Christ rightly.
What did you think of the space trilogy and the way Lewis had his fictional other planets in sort of a not fallen state, where earth had become the silent planet by turning to sin?

I post THE TRUTH about Genesis 6 on every video I could find of Bancarz including this one to REVEAL AND BRING TO LIGHT THIS EVIL. We are to bring all darkness to light. These guys sound smart, sound sincere but they are not true sons of God, ie saved, redeemed and repentant disciples of Jesus Christ working out their salvation in Holy fear with trembling.

Christian parents are having a very difficult time passing on the faith to their children. They surround their kids with Christian culture. Their kids memorize the scriptures they are given but the words are going into the head and not the heart in many cases. We are beings made up of spirit, soul, and body and while the mind does need to be renewed by the word of God the spirit man is being neglected almost totally, especially by the church. That new spirit is in an infant stage in the new believer and that infant spirit has to be nurtured. That spirit is in contact with the Holy Spirit who is also given at the new birth. It is that "experience" of being in touch with the Holy Spirit at the new birth that is pushed aside and is not nurtured. Much of the church downplays that "emotional" aspect of the new birth. Most churches are so cut off from the spiritual side of their faith that they are uncomfortable with emotion. The new believers are told that they need to concentrate on the renewing of the mind and the realities of this life. NO. Read through your New Testament. We need the renewing of the mind and the maturing of the spirit - BOTH and equally. The spirit man has to be nurtured into spiritual maturity. It is the carnal part of us that has to be taught to follow after that new spirit that has been imparted. That is the major part of the Good News! We have been given that new spirit so we can contact our Father in heaven! We have the "washing of the new birth and the renewing of the HOLY SPIRIT! Steven had a revelation of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It was certainly an experience but it is an experience that the Lord wants to duplicate day by day with his people through his Holy Spirit.
This is the crux of the problem within the church today and why the youth is not staying even after much undergoing an indoctrination into Christianity throughout their childhood. Humanity yearns for spiritual fulfillment. Having contact with the spirit of God through the new born from above spirit is a fulfillment beyond anything the mind could ask or think, exceedingly beyond our highest thoughts, hopes and dreams. Some groups of Christians are so terrified of "lying signs and wonders that they have forbidden the true signs and wonders that Christ opened the door for the believers to have. Sadly, some Pentecostal churches have become so dry and in such a rut that they go off into tangents made up of nothing but the flesh. When you lose touch with the true Holy Spirit of God then all that is left is flesh. Churches that do not nurture the spirit either go off on fake spiritual tangents or they forbid any aspect of the true walk of the spirit and enjoy having man run their ultra boring services. The Holy Spirit is not boring but neither is he weird....a bit non traditional but not weird and never boring. Submitting a meeting of believers to the leading of the Holy Spirit seems to be the most difficult thing for church leadership to do. Paul spent much of his time trying to get these groups of new believers into order but at no time did he ever forbid the move of the Holy Spirit.
We are supposed to be spiritual beings first. The flesh is supposed to be brought into submission to the Spirit of God that resides in us. Our spirit hears from the Holy Spirit and passes that revelation to the mind. The new spirit that we are given is supposed to be hearing from the Holy Spirit all the time but if you are following your carnal mind instead of learning to submit to the spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh then you will only be following the law as the Jews did before Christ. If that was enough then Christ would not have had to suffer and die so that we could become new creations. We are not new in any other way than in the spirit part of us. Isn't it time to start submitting to the word of God instead of ignoring the parts of the New Testament that makes us feel uncomfortable as most churches have? There is a spirit realm and ignoring it has led to this disaster in our country and the overwhelming unleashing of the kingdom of darkness. God shut the kingdom of darkness out of our realm but if human beings summon those evil entities they can allow them in. It is up to the church to keep the kingdom of darkness out of our realm! But if you don't even acknowledge the Holy Spirit how are you going to deal with evil spirits?
Not true..my son grew up in my faith but while we read the bible I explained not only the verses and passages, but the evidence behind each part of it ..the historicity of the bible; creation/chance aka DNA doesnt mutate new body plans, etc; witnesses to resurrection; anything and everything apologetic..I explained different religions and where their theology failed and why...but really...Jesus did most of it.

I SAW/MET Him, too. Jesus had no flesh (appeared as soft, white mist), but YOUR spirit recognizes His Spirit AS JESUS, God Creator & you get VERY small. He IS SO beautiful & awesome, all I could do was gasp, laugh & weep. I am curious which of the 25 plus version of the bible should we follow? Pentacostal babble sounds like confusion, jehovah's witnesses is also very different and cultish forget about Catholicism.
As a Christian I was very confused and scared myself when I looked at the evidence for reincarnation. How young children were able to remember their past lives with such certainty and specifics was, and is, very overwhelming. Besides the bible and my religion, its still hard for me to totally dismiss and its hard for me to completely ignore.
Chad Johnson I come from that world too (about 20+ years of wandering thru different belief systems, including dabling into the occult). Kabbalistic Jews believe in it too.
On top of all of that, my major was in Psychology. According to my professor, there's actually an explanation for reincarnation. Apparently its the mind tapping into the "universal unconscious" and accessing (hacking might be a better term) the memories (NOT the life itself) of someone else.
Not explicitly Biblical I know, but what is clear enough is that we are "appointed once to die".
The great danger of spiritual mediocrity is inherent in the belief of reincarnation; the idea of "Oh well I'll get it better the next time I get recycled" mentality instead of actively and consciously perfecting yourself within a relationship with God.

Steven seems quite sincere but not very deep or nuanced.
For example he conflates panentheism and pantheism, which are very different.
I don't think he conflates them. He viewed Christ from a pantheistic perspective when he was practicing occultism. That perception changed the more he learned about Him.

Doesn't Luke 17:21 say "...the kingdom of God is within you."? Also, why are aliens brought into this mix? I once saw something at night, in the sky, that was outside our atmosphere that convinced me there are most likely aliens out there...cuz honestly I don't think humans are smart enough to have that technology yet. It's not a Christian symbol. It's origin is satanic. It's called Triquetra or Trinity Knot (not Holy Trinity). The symbol is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolize the Triple Goddess, or as a protective symbol. It comes in many shapes. I have only ever seen this symbol associated with the new age or occult. Idk why Apologia doesn't know this.
