I'm pretty new to AOE, where did the 7k stone come from at 50:04? Is that something the French can do? First thought it was market trade but doesn't look like it.
It's a feature in the "guild hall" landmark for the french. Which is their one of the two landmark they choose between when ageing up to castle age :) It stocks up over time of the rescource of your choosing.
The ability is annoying to use because the toggle only works for the single trader you selected. So if you want gold AND another ressource, you have to control group your traders which nobody does. If you have a select all trader hotkey you can toggle all of them at the same time but, a bit like Abassid trade wing. But then you have to remember to switch it back to gold every now and then. It is too tedious. I much prefer Malian, Mongol or Abbassid trade mechanics where you have bonus ressources instead of having to micro your trade.
How is he able to queue palisade gates on his walls before they are built?

Do French players ever actually use their unique Merchants to get other resources like Wood instead of Gold?
