This SA visit is becoming a bit of a habit! So glad you sorted things out. The fridge looks absolutely magnificent. Plenty of room for frozen seafood! The guys at quarantine are always careful and gracious and very, very fastidious. Good on 'em. Losing 100kg is not going to be easy. Great to see you again. I hope you keep making videos for us.
Great spot, actually lived in Cowell for 6 years as a kid - great crab & whiting fishing. If get a chance to fish out of Port Neil they have some stomper whiting in the bay.
Great video again Kev & Chris Looks like more freezer space now. I was wondering if the SA check point at Oodla Wirra just needed a few more ingredients (2 of your spuds, capsicum & spinach) to complete their recipe for dinner 🤣 Was in Cowell in January, no signs of squid on the jetty & reports from locals say no squid caught in the bay (Franklin Harbour) have to go outside to bay (dolphins love cephalopods, and they might heard them in the bay ? A work mate made his own crab sticks by freezing cigar shaped crab meat in cling wrap then later battered in oil. If you want something different to do with the crabs 👍🏼🍻
we could not get any squid in Cowell ,moved on to Louth bay got a few then to Farm beach got more now at Smoky bay getting plenty and heaps of XXL blue swimmers so might try your mates tip sounds good cheers

Hi there You have become my favourite channel now. I like your set up and i would like to know some of the dimensions of the quad and the canopy. How many cc is the quad bike ? I think its a honda, the dimensions are just right to fit into the canopy. And the canopy dimensions please.. I have a bigger boat that i want to sell and get a quad and boat set up like you have. Looking forward to your next episode. Cheers
Yes it is a Honda a TRX 250 a two wheel drive and weights just under 200 kg we did have to shorten the front and rear racks to make it fit across the tray and our canopy was built to suit the quad and now we wouldnt travel without it although we had to downsize our boat to be able to keep within our legal weights check out our ute build you may find it quite interesting cheers kev
yes we sold the Cruiser and had a F250 for a while (Dumbest move ever) then were using our old work ute 6 cyl cruiser until we could work out what our next tow vehicle would be ,lost that one out chasing pigs so we bought a Ranger 3.2 and were so impressed with it we ordered a new v6 ranger did the stretch and upgrades and very happy with it cheers Kev
Assume you don't require a ventilation air gap at the front of the frig where you installed the trim ! Also I could not make out your comment but understand that is the inverter under the frig?. The frig model states it as an inverter frig! Well done 😊 GH.
yes the inverter is under the fridge as is the diesel heater unit so its very easy to access if needed the venting for the fridge is at the rear it has a lower and an upper vent ,very inpressed with the fridge so far but will give it a good test out in a couple months when we go into the NT then accross into the Kimberly cheers Kev
Hi, just wondering how the new fridge is performing. Just about to replace ours in our 20' Bushtracker . Brand /size of the new fridge would be appreciated please. Enjoy your travels.
very happy with the performance the only draw back is the door protrudes out a bit further than the original as do most household fridges ,power consumption is very similar but keep in mind it needs to be a inverter drive fridge or you would need a bigger inverter and yes LG 234 lt
Hi guys just a car question wondering why your chose ranger over the single cab 79 and do you have any concerns of ranger from the point of all extra mod cons failing in remote areas
we had a79 series for 11 years best car we have ever had but we are looking for a bit more creature comforts now ,love the 10 speed auto and the power of the ranger just a shame they didnt bring out a supercab with the v6 and we are a little concerned how the Ranger will go with reliability but only time will tell but Nothing will stand up to the reliability of the 79 series v8 we only had to change the switch for the fuel tank changeover in 11 years other than normal wear and tear cheers Kev
we bought it from betta electical LG 243 lt inverter drive compressor, several places have them some are classed as 242 ltre but all the same -good guys and harvey noman are both $599 cheers Kev
from what I can work out from the gauge is around 9 amps on startup until the compressor is running at speed then it draws around 4.5 amps when running normal cheers kev
where we screwed the facplate to the wall we also screwed a stip of velcro facing down and stuck the other side (soft side to the fridge) ,we just do a half twist from the piece hanging down onto the fridge it seems to work well it has not come open yet and when you dont need it its not in the way cheers kev
Our GVM was over by 150 kg before we unloaded some excess and our GCM was fine somewhere around 6.9 so we still have room to breathe (GVM 3700 GCM 7200) we will be changing our setup a bit more with an alloy box on the front of the van to house the genny and jerry cans and change over to an alloy boat trailer this will also delete all the steel brackets for these things so we should get to take more but with less weight on the car and van ,also downsizing the tinny from a custom built xx high side 3.7 to a factory 3.5 hs saving around 70 kg cheers Kev

Hi traveller's watching your channel, I noticed you haven't got the landcruiser
yes we sold the Cruiser and had a F250 for a while (Dumbest move ever) then were using our old work ute 6 cyl cruiser until we could work out what our next tow vehicle would be ,lost that one out chasing pigs so we bought a Ranger 3.2 and were so impressed with it we ordered a new v6 ranger did the stretch and upgrades and very happy with it

Gday mate It’s on the video, LG 234 litre inverter drive compressor run through their 500 ah inverter 🍻
very happy with the performance the only draw back is the door protrudes out a bit further than the original as do most household fridges ,power consumption is very similar but keep in mind it needs to be a inverter drive fridge or you would need a bigger inverter and yes LG 234 lt

can you tell me where you got your fridge from have done a search but can't seem to find it in Australia...thanks
we bought it from betta electical LG 243 lt inverter drive compressor, several places have them some are classed as 242 ltre but all the same -good guys and harvey noman are both $599 cheers Kev
Whats the amp draw on the new fridge
from what I can work out from the gauge is around 9 amps on startup until the compressor is running at speed then it draws around 4.5 amps when running normal
cheers kev
Hi. How do you stop the LG's doors from opening whilst traveling ?
where we screwed the facplate to the wall we also screwed a stip of velcro facing down and stuck the other side (soft side to the fridge) ,we just do a half twist from the piece hanging down onto the fridge it seems to work well it has not come open yet and when you dont need it its not in the way

@@travellingaustralia7319 I might steal that idea on our build. Cheers
You mentioned you GVM weight as being high, what did your GCM come in at with the van hooked up?
Our GVM was over by 150 kg before we unloaded some excess and our GCM was fine somewhere around 6.9 so we still have room to breathe (GVM 3700 GCM 7200)
