When you've been around fan and student made film enough, you appreciate so many of the things most viewers take for granted. Sound mixing for example. There are SO many shorts that have bad sound editing where you either have dialogue too low or high, the score too low or high, background noises, sound effects, etc. Clearly someone in this production understands the importance of that. In most works I see, they get some things right at the cost of others, and its always different from project to project which get more attention and which less. This film nailed the sweet spot on all the technical elements, AND told a fun, interesting, moving story, AND added a nice hook at the end. This is a crew to watch. Cheers and well done. Thank you.
Wow - great job! How is it that a short film on UA-cam can be more engaging than major film productions costing hundreds of millions of dollars? Really well done!
Excellent. I imagine that many people will click off in the first 30 seconds but I'm glad I stayed with it. It doesn't try to overreach and has effective plotting and worldbuilding. More!
I think this is marvelous. And it was all done with a small crew and cast. Cinematography, lighting, and sound were excellent. Those were challenging low light conditions. What was the camera gear and settings for that? Everything was fantastic.
Oh what a well plotted storyline. Intriguing. Well done. The lighting and cinematics we're strong and the music well suited. I liked the scaled back effects. The acting was engaging. Plenty of shorts flail despite being very good in areas because they weren't produced well. The strengths do not however automatically balance, enter producer here. Lol. Thanks for the fun!
Most wouldn't remmber this ,but in the 2000 there was the t.v show called Dinotopia it was a sort one made by ABC ,and Halmark . It was low budget movie ,but with that money they made this fantastic show at that same area they made the 10th kingdom . Both a classics in my opinion they didn't do as they hoped, so they didn't really finish the shows . I wished I found this sooner . It's great I want to see more I knew it takes a long while to make this kinda things ,but would it be possible to make more ?
This has a good deal to recommend it, and I say that as a non-fan of the genre. Good costuming and make-up, good DP work and shot composition. Some of the acting was dodgy, but overall a solid ensemble. I'd watch more of this story should it ever come to pass. It's going to need a strong hook in the next episode to keep viewer interest, though.
That wizard needs some acting lessons, or perhaps better direction. But otherwise, fantastic film (pun intended). Excellent cinematography and production. Love it.
Good world exposition, nice "new unknown threat" teaser, and no gratuitous misandry. Throw all the budget on it and don't let Lauren Hissrich within a mile of the set.
The lighting and color are gorgeous in this. The performances are pretty solid... however, they would've been so much stronger if the Elves spoke like Elves instead of teenage girls. Something for you to keep in mind if you develop this further. Nicely done. Good luck.
An excellent start to a great movie.

Great story! Btw I hope their insurance’ll cover healer’s services ☝🏻😅
Very well done. Demonstrates that a compelling film does not necessarily demand a huge budget.
