I believe for this one I just took a midi version of the original song, put that into FL Studio and substituted the instruments for all the 8 bit VSTs I'm used to (retroboy, magical8bitplug, famisynth, the tweakbench "tb_" series). Tweaked the synths all to my liking, and mixed/mastered it as well.
The only thing that I made completely originally was the drums, I programmed those in myself, they aren't like that in the original song.
