hey man, from what I see here, they play great music and having fun regardless the instrument. What imortant is the musicianship....obviously this was an impromptu jam, not something they planned. Appreciate the music they play..
Don't about the Casio whether it's pro or entry level, but anyway, I suppose it's not Perez's main keyboard. Patitucci is playing a basic Korean 4-string TRB, which he normally doesn't play and through something that seems to be a Fender combo. Something very less "high end" as his Aguilar rig. I can't comment on the drum set. And everything sounds amazing, the playing is pure genius. If you can play, it's not about the equipment as much as businessmen want us to think :)
I also appreciate what they do. LOVE THESE GUYS! And for an impromptu performance--great. But when they play NYC club gigs on cheap instruments (or cheap sounding instruments) its like getting free tickets to a Wayne shorter show, only to find out he's going to play the recorder for the entire set.
Have to say I saw Danilo w/ Jack Dejohnette and Patitucci in NYC and he (Danilo) was using that Casio and I didn't really appreciate that. He sounds great here; but...come on man. Not for me to tell Danillo what to do, but you're Top 5 piano player in the world and you're gonna F-around with that Casio in a live performance? I'd tell Patitucci the same thing. Electric bass for a song...okay. But no one can touch your tone on stand-up. So you diminish your best asset w/ that thin electric stuff.
Thanks for posting this. I have been visiting this video for probably 10 years now. This video pops into my head randomly

Lo mejor es como lleva el pulso con el pie el patitucci...jeej

This is actual proof that gear isn't essential. It's all about knowledge
And these guys have lots of musical knowledge! ( ^ _ ^ )

@SuperElectricbass in the figurative sense.
