You’re right 🥲 I think if I went in with zero expectations it would have ended up higher on the list. But I built up totally different ideas of what the story would be and I was off. Do you think I should still read the next book?
@@BeingDaphne ya that’s so fair i had very low expectations bc the cover art was so bad LOL. didn’t even know there was a second book, but i usually loose interest in sequels because im always invested in the tension/slow burn leading up to the romance

Reading Stolen Tounges this month
The thing that didnt work for me in Emily Wilde was that Wendall was an f boy, fboy/professor dynamic doesn't make any sense to me.
Sandman!! 😆😆 omg I love that, so funny! I’ll def be interested to hear what you think about stolen tongues. Do you get scared reading books ever? I didn’t like Wendell for those reasons either. Plus it was really hard for me to connect with Emily as a protagonist too. Hopefully we have even more reads in common this year 😊

I'm almost impossible to scare, the only things that can get under my skin are very realistic SA and animal abuse.
I like sciencey boring books like Airframe by Michael Crichton, which a lot of ppl think is like an FAA report with an action scene or two.
I actually enjoyed Monster Claus 🤭🫣 but you really have to lean into the madness
I knew it was a silly fun time read but I had a really hard time connecting with the writing. It was so hard for me to visualize what the author was trying to describe. Like when he tied the chicks legs up to be like a Xmas tree 🤨🤨🤨 and then did her like that??? I was like what is going on? How?? Ugh…. 😓
