100% correct! when i had a vintage car dealership back in the 80s lots of cars were sent to Japan while here in USA were importing many more (econo) cars lol There was a time when US dollar was worth less than Japan so japanese dealers were paying more for them which helped put me out of business, well Pres Bush Sr helped do that even more (turns out is WAS the economy stupid). Im guessing my 89 Turbo (factory) Turbo Dodge Caravan with wood grain would be hot there ;)
Great video! When I was there for work in 2004 the Chevy Astro / GMC Safari scene was a thing. Some pretty cool builds and to see some of them at night heading thru Tokyo was quite a sight to be had!
I would definitely like to see more videos about U.S. cars in Japan. Also, where did you get the black and white clip at the beginning of the video where it showed the father and son walking up to the 1950s Chevrolet?
I have a 2001 dodge b1500, I’d love to get a line on the correct lowering suspension parts, I’m running a set of 90’s 17” aluminum wheels, all bushings were changed to poly graphite, flow master exhaust on a 5.2 ,, and new shocks. Soon a gen 3 hemi will be installed w/transmission, and a newer dodge truck rear axle with disc brakes and 3:91 gears
Wait till parts are no longer available and discontinued, they will be shit out of luck. Parts are already scarce for old Chevy vans. At least we have access to salvage yards here.
Great video! When I was there for work in 2004 the Chevy Astro / GMC Safari scene was pretty big, seeing them cruise they the streets of Tokyo at night was quite cool to see.
Loved this video. What I really wanna see is Japan's take on pickup trucks and muscle cars. Basically vehicles with big V8 engines.
This segment is the main reason I subscribed to Driving Line. Keep it up!
Nice video, very thorough in the culture there and how gears work in the japanese scene. Awesome content!
Great video! Thanks for the history of Moon Eyes and some of the other US car culture in Japan
