  • On 6 July 2021, QuTech, KPN and Cisco demonstrated an important step towards an accessible quantum internet.
Engineers from QuTech (a collaboration between TU Delft and TNO) can provide untappable communication that is cost-scaling to many users by using measurement-device independent (MDI) quantum key distribution (QKD). A notable side-feature is that conventional internet operates in parallel, on the same optical fibre.

for quantum technology where very few videos are available, a video like this where practical implementation of the technology is demonstrated is really motivating. Thank you.

How "far" can a quantum channel go? In case of optical fibre, free space or an optical network? I did watch a chinese presentation in which they claimed to have sent it 19km through free space. How about optical fibre/ nets? Is it possible to send raw quantum information (polarized photons) through the internet without spinning it on the way?
