We love the Vulcan/Havok and have several versions. We're also thinking about putting an afterburner on one and when we're really brave we have a clear Vulcan that we hope to dye the shell with a blue tint to make it the only Sonic Ice Vulcan! 😎 Looking forward to seeing yours once its modded! 😉👍
Oh the sonic ice sounds cool! I guess the clear ones get a little brittle I have heard Family Foam Sport say, so they can be had to find in good shape so that’s awesome!
Omg this makes me wanna cry, I got one for Christmas when I was a little kid right before my mom passed away, seeing this blaster again brings back so much nostalgia. Thank you so much
I know this post is a year old, but I only found this short because I just bought three working Vulcans for $2 each. Didn’t realize a working one would be hard to find. They show up occasionally at my local thrift store so often I was allowed to be picky.
Complete working vulcans for $2 is pretty rare haha. I have 4 or 5 now, and a couple of them were 5.99 but for some reason it took quite awhile to find the first!
Hello there, I am extremely fortunate and own TWO Havok Fires which I thrifted within a month of each other. Both were near immaculate just some scuffs on the bottom. It turned out I also got one long barrel and one short barrel variant too (the muzzles are slightly different). Well done getting yours!
Oh cool! Yeah, would love to have a Havok fire! I had an opportunity for a sonic green one but decided that maybe it wasn’t the best time financially after a summer of vacations and stuff ha. Dang it.
@@maritimefoam Oh please don't tell me there are more variants! Don't worry I did know already and fancy getting a green sonic to go with my lightsabers - I just have to wait till one worth buying shows up in the UK !
Nice! I had this! I bought it for my son (me) for Christmas. It was great fun setting up and playing with but it felt like it was just almost there. It made me hate battery powered blasters. After blazing through a half dozen battery changes and it sat in a nerf bin. I cleaned out his room a couple of years later and it was in the bin with batteries that leaked out. It was fun that winter but the night finders were our primary blasters - we still have one! I just recently got rid of the tripod and belt. Now I want to see what you do to one of these.
Agree with everything you’re saying about battery powered Nerf (funny though that my favourite is flywheelers). It’s just a little below the fun threshold. Usually they don’t live up to the power of springers. So your inexpensive sidearm is better than a big battery powered thing. Which is obvious to a kid and sucks. I’ve been switch all of my stock Nerf to 9v (6 batteries) and more recently because that gets expensive, 9v rechargeable packs. 9v takes performance to 100 FPS and doesn’t require a rewire. A good middle ground for mass conversion haha. For this one I’m going to do two. The first will be a simple one, up the power a little, and improve the spring and air seals a little, try and increase fire rate a bit and get to 100 FPS. :)
@@maritimefoam I have to say I was not a fan of battery power UNTIL the Nemesis with pack and the Perses. I do not yet own the Prometheus but if I ever get some throw away money… The rechargeable power of your modding is awesome. The expense of single use batteries adds up. I don’t mod so I wish Nerf would give us more off-the-shelf rechargeable systems like the Perses. The general appeal of Nerf, for me, especially that of Rival, is unlike gel or airsoft or paintball, nothing more than safety glasses are required. Indoor play is safe and outdoor yard play is fun, too. Ammo infinitely reusable - pick up enemy rounds! It fills an incredibly fun space where the seriousness, organization required, and effort in gearing up simply can’t exist. I appreciate your channel, bro.
@@yosoywilliamgreen212 thanks so much for the kind words! I think we’re on the same page for what we like about Nerf for sure! And I agree on those rival rechargeable packs, wish this was more common in Nerf, and the power was perfect. The Prometheus is goofy fun if you can find one cheap ha!
Just found one today at the thrift for 12.99 has origami box, two belts, the box, stand, and barrel, oh and manual!!! Great condition and two origami darts. Always wanted one when I was younger but too old now😂
You must be unlucky lol, because I got two working Vulcans WITH belts AND extra belt buckets for under 30 bucks a few years back and I gotta say these thing are AMAZING!
Some Russian kid who smoked cigs in middle school unloaded a 50 round belt on me with his vulcan when I was little but I was actually mad and I said wtf are these foam darts gonna do, but lowkey they flexed on me so hard I went home with my ego utterly shattered. I couldn't believe dude had a gun that made those sounds, it was like seeing the original Tesla roadster for the first time.
I purchased a base Vulcan with none of the attachments, (excluding the handle of course). And not even a week afterwards, my mother goes to a charity shop and finds a tripod for it, she didn’t even know I had the Vulcan she just thought, “Hm, he might be able to use it.” At the time I was thinking of buying a tripod separate for £8, but then she found it for only *1.*
Got it pretty cheap, around 60 bucks on eBay. It was cheaper because it was actually broken, due to the battery tray being filled with battery rust. It did come with all parts though, and using the power of white vinegar, and some tin foil, I fixed the battery tray! Totally awesome blaster.
Hey, Cape Bretoner in Toronto here, I LOVE what you’re doing. Wish you were around when I was a kid lol. My 7yo son is really getting into flinging foam and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your videos! Question: Can the Vulcan be upgraded with just the 9v battery like in your rapid strike video? Fly wheels are a bit advanced for me but I’d like to spruce his thrifted Vulcan up a little bit…thanks and see you around!
Such a classic powerhouse. Congrats on the find! 💛
Super goofy and fun. I’m happy to have one. My storage and display problems escalate!

Tips for modding: There's a little component that stops the electric motor from working if theres no chain in it, i'd remove it if I were you.

Oh cool!!! I see them in Marketplace once in a while. I'll be looking forward to seeing this "flywheel afterburner"!!! 😁🔫

My older brother had one of those but I never knew how to use it but I was only 8 at the time 😂
Haha, it would have looked pretty insane to an 8 year old for sure!
It’s such a cool blaster! Not exactly practical but the fun value is 100% there. And with some mods; I would totally run it in a war
Heck yeah! But then I’d run almost anything!
Nerf needs to rerelease this under the icon series, I’ve owned one since I was really young and I still love using it!
I’d love that… though a lot of the icon versions had issues as I recall… but yes, do that Nerf but good :)
Yeah, the Vulcan is my favorite! I’ve been looking for it for a while but I now found it a few months ago
One of the early electric blasters, and AFAIK the only one that works without batteries. I do prefer the stampede, but Vulcan is a good find.
I have 2 working vulcans and I absolutely love them, so cool
Agree!
"Extra" chain? You can relink it to create an even longer one
I had one as a kid. I attached the chain magazines together to make an extended magazine.
Nice!
A beautiful blaster. Ive got two of them and i love them.
Are used to have that, but now I only have a tripod for it
You must be unlucky lol, because I got two working Vulcans WITH belts AND extra belt buckets for under 30 bucks a few years back and I gotta say these thing are AMAZING!
I dunno about unlucky; I have many of them now ha.
Still one of my favorite blasters, even if it’s not practical by today’s standards. I love it.
I haven’t found one of these yet, sadly just the legs… but that means they’re still out there lol 😂
I remember having one of these growing up but it just stopped working one day. Had to throw it out ☹️
My friend has a completely working one, no mods or any fixing, he owned it since it came out so not 2nd hand
I got a custom painted fully functional one at a thrift store for 10$ gave it to my younger cousin Becuase he loves nerf
Man, you give off the cool uncle vibes that i hope to achieve
Haha, thanks!!! Cool uncle vibes is always a good thing!

I’ve been wanting this thing for a while but For some reason I always pass these up
I come across these alot while Hunting.. they're never complete..I never knew that could manually Prime and fire them..The more you know : )
They’re really neat, I love having one because I’m addicted to collecting, such a space hog though and had to mod ha. But they look so cool to fire!
I have one of these in my childhood closet :)
I have one with the box and chain, but it won’t cycle the chain. Very unfortunate but still looks good on the arsenal wall lol.
Ah, boo. Those gear boxes can be delicate. If you ever find a rough looking spare it’s Very easy to swap the insides!
I wanted this thing SO bad as a kid. Jealous!
It’s pretty cool. It might have got old as a kid maybe, but as an adult, I couldn’t love it more lol
Me and a buddy of mine just finished hooking one of these babies up to a 14 volt battery bank and a set of flywheels and it purrs.
Nice!!!!
There’s also a red strike, sonic, clear, and elite version
YES!

Sweet!
They should make a modern flywheel version where the pusher takes the bolt back and forth and has a taller tripod
Would love to see that!

I just got one recently and plan to do the same
I really need to finish my guide haha
Just got the sonic green one with tripod belt and it works at a thrift store
Dang, nice find!
I got 2 of them for 10$ and got one working the other needs to be ripped apart and looked at in the gears
I’ve found two in thrift stores but no chain or bipod yet. Can’t wait to shoot this thing though.
