    When you expect your QB to have to run this much, he's going to get physically fatigued and his mechanics are going to suffer later in games. Which affects his accuracy. It's pretty simple. Everyone can look at the tape and criticize his mechanics, but we're not doing enough hammering the organization for the fact that they're putting him in that situation by putting him in an offense that can only be productive when he runs a lot. That's sad that this is what we've built around our Quarterback after SEVEN YEARS.

      Which is sad. You don't replace three offensive linemen in one year. Got hope for Voorhees and Rosengarten, but the Faalele experiment is over to me. Got to wait another year for us two drafts a guard. The only way this works is if we run the quick game offense and keep Likely on the field at all times. This line is going to need to figure out the run blocking fast.

      So agree, Lamar has played Superman every year and gets very little appreciation by sports journalists and even fans. I still wish he had been traded last year to a team that wants to win with one of the most exciting QB’s ever!

    • @EricKearneyMusic
      @EricKearneyMusic Місяць тому +1

      He only had a few designed runs. All the scrambling and running around is on him. That is not in the playbook. Make your throws from the pocket and be done with it. His happy feet and leaving a clean pocket has nothing to do with the organization, the blocking or the playcalling. It's about his first instinct to run. He did the same stuff at Louisville. I just watched his last game and it was same stuff. 4 int's from bad throws. Scrambling for no reason.
      The level of blaming his poor mechanics on others is off the charts.

  • @katinashellington2903

    See, this what I'm talking about! That man is nice in the pocket. He can feel when the O-Line is callapsing, the man got to get outta there when he hear footsteps. All night #95 was on L-Freaky heels.

    • @segagenesis7708

      All of that running exhausted him. It was clear as day. Early on, his mechanics and accuracy were on point. As the game went on and the more he ran, his mechanics started slipping. Everybody wants to talk about the fact that his accuracy was off late, but not 'why'. So I'm so glad you said what you said, because our team is putting him in bad situations where his mechanics suffer.

      If a QB is scared of the rush and getting hit (being punch drunk), they suck. They are paid to stay in there and deliver the ball. If he has happy feet in a totally clean pocket because of past pressure, that is on the QB.

    • @williamkjdarden
      @williamkjdarden Місяць тому +1

      @bluesky7333 bruh you as a qb are not paid to stay in the pocket and get hit because your organization doesn't build the line up. You have to protect yourself first because if you as a qb get hurt that's your and the teams whole season. Take a hit or two yes but not the whole game like we seen.

    • @EricKearneyMusic
      @EricKearneyMusic Місяць тому

      @@williamkjdarden I played QB for the Gamecocks. I have been an OC for 25 years. Your job def is to stay in there and get rid of the ball on time. If somebody is going to hit you but you have time to release it for a TD, you put your big boy pants on and throw it knowing you'll get nailed. With that said, the QB is protected unbelievably today. They can't get hit high or low. I had so many concussions playing QB, I couldn't count them. So many of the last generation retired because of concussions. Today they hardly ever get hit with any force.
      I have played and coached the QB position my whole life. It would seem you have not one minute of experience to speak of.

    • @williamkjdarden
      @williamkjdarden Місяць тому

      @bluesky7333 I respect everything you have done..not gunna take that away from you and what you say has alot of truth to it especially from today's hits on qbs. But my only point is if you play qb, you make a play while also protecting yourself. And like I said you take a few hits to make ya throws but it shouldn't be like that most qbs are successful because they have had great or good o-line protecting them and sometimes throwing it away or running away is the best option to see another down and avoid concussions

    • @EricKearneyMusic
      @EricKearneyMusic Місяць тому

      @@williamkjdarden To your point, it is also important to stay in the game. What I teach is to go through your progressions and be decisive - anticipate where your reciever will be and get rid of it. If you can get rid of it within 3 seconds you should never have trouble.
      There needs to be a clock in your head. After 3 seconds all bets are off and you either throw it away or take the sack. As you stated, live to play another down. Getting sacked isn't the end of the world.
      I get the feeling that Lamar thinks a sack is the end of the world. He will attempt to throw the ball while being brought down. He did that against Chiefs and caused a fumble inside his own 20 yard line. He compounded holding onto the ball too long with not protecting it. That is bad QB play.

    I think it was JT that said this and I'm starting to agree: Lamar needs preseason reps. Even if it's just a series or two in the first week., He's gotta get some real throws in before week 1. I get wanting to bubble wrap him after 2021 and 2022, but now it's a thing of rust with him going months between game action. HE was rusty vs Houston last year and rusty and inconsistent vs the Chiefs this year. 2025 Preseason week 1 Lamar has to start and get an all passing drive in. No scrambles or designed runs just get his arm warm for the season.

    • @segagenesis7708

      He also needs to be in an offense where he doesn't need to scramble/run so much for the offense to do anything of consequence. All of that running exhausts him by the end of the game and his mechanics suffer.

    Criticise Lamar & miss the point. An MVP qb, the Ravens should protect, not rip up the O.Line & cross your fingers. & OMG, Lamar calls the play but the personnel has already been decided. JT Sullivan is great but LJ puts up nearly 400 yds offence. & If not 4 him, the Ravens would not have been in the game + which other QB could have done more. It's always Lamar cause he calls the plays, plays O.L, defence & runs routes. We are lucky he fell in the draft & without him, as b4 he arrived, Ravens wouldn't be relevant. Let's not be 'First Take' & act like LJ is the only QB to miss a throw.

That is just plain terrible QB play. That needs to be a TD 10 out of 10 times. He didn't even give Batemen A CHANCE to catch that ball. He is falling to the left in a totally clean pocket.
      Lamar can't find his open recievers no matter who it is. Watching the tape there are guys wide open and Lamar can't find them. Why?? He doesn't need better recievers. He needs to open his eyes and get rid of the ball.

      @@lennybeason1110 That's pure speculation on your part. How many years have you played and or coached QB (or both)?? I count 45 for me.
      If he gets the ball out on time, he has no problems with rushers. I've seen the all-22 tape of that game and there were several times he had a clean pocket but gave up on it and starting moving around, started running - for no reason. A QB with antsy feet is not a good QB. My point is he is too quick to give up on the pocket. Make your reads and get rid of it on time. He only did that 6 times against Chiefs. 100% completion rate when he got the ball out on time (and no pressure). He is not working within the offense when he gives up on the pocket. To add to that, he is wasting the routes the WR are running when doing this. Running too early causes him to miss people who are wide open. When he's on the move his mechanics suffer and his accuracy is poor. There are exceptions because plays are made now and then (50 yd TD to Likely), but far more plays are missed by not staying in the pocket.

  • @natekam1
    @natekam1 Місяць тому +1

    Non running QBs can harp on the mechanics because they cannot relate to what it must feel like to not only run to avoid the sack but also run to gain yards. THE EYE IN THE SKY DOESNT LIE!!
      There is clear footage of him moving around in a clean pocket for no reason. The moving around causes him to not see WIDE OPEN Batemen for a TD. On top of not seeing Batemen, the unnecessary movement causes him to be off balance. He is late to see Batement, then proceeds to heave the ball 50 yards in the stands 10 feet over his head. Pathetic.
      This play is Lamar in a nutshell. He can't make plays from the pocket because he stares down receivers, and moves around for no reason instead of going through his progressions and getting rid of the ball.
