You should go for 7 tiles with the big rain and fill the gaps with 1 tile rain. You keep using the big rain on areas that already have rain or cant receive rain
Great observation, This was my first time playing the game and I was just kind of learning the ropes. You make a great recommendation though my friend. What I've found after a few runs is that the large rain cards are more difficult to use so it's best to use them when the opportunity is there. I believe you are correct my friend! After watching it back, it does appear the gray hexes can be populated with the mountains. It's a good thing to know for the future! There's also rivers that begin on the gray hexes as well. Lots to discover and explore in this one, thanks for checking out the video!! Stay tuned for plenty of future content. Thanks again!
Thanks for the comment my friend, you're absolutely right with the diversity bonus! However, the small map doesn't seem to give you additional animal diversity so the best you'd be able to do is go for 3 of a kind. Medium maps, in my experience, do offer the +60 diversity bonus so I'm looking forward to doing a run on one of those! I have the small Savannah map dropping tomorrow, stay tuned and check it out!

Looked like you can place the mountains on the grey hexes, but I am only commenting on this at the beginning of the video

I think the key to the first game was not locking up land with 2 or 3 animal of the same kind. Save animals for 3 of each
