I just got mine today and have to say it is worth every penny I paid for it. I like it better than the CRK Large Sebenza 31 that I received in the same box. The Shirogorov is currently my most loved knife.
As someone who payed $1300usd for my own F95NL Gen. 5, I came to the realization that these knives, or any expensive thin for that matter, are worth as much as you are willing to spend on it. I was willing to choke down the cost and I practically have to pry the thing out of my hand because I like it so much. Or maybe I’m just coping 🥲
I just notice extremely early lockup on mine, around 5-10%. I can push it in to about 40%. I was going to send it back to Recon1 for warranty repair until I found that most Shirogorov owners say that is normal with a new one. I tried some spine whacks with no failure. Love the knife.
I received mine today and am impressed. Do you, or anyone else, have concerns regarding the incredibly early lockup on this model? I’ve read thoughts on both sides of the fence and don’t know what to believe.
I'm so tempted by one of these but they are SOOO big. Wish Shiro would give the Neon the same attention they give their larger knives. Like the new pivot and a screw in the lock bar insert.
Ya pretty much. We also share them with the community via platforms like IG/TikTok/Reddit/YT etc. Sometimes we trade ot sell. No different than any other collectable. Common concept
@metal_complex I am an enthusiast and collector. Just don't know how much other people baby their safe queens. I have a few that live in the box, but felt guilty carrying the others around. What if I scratch it? Hahaha
I have a Sharp by Design Mini Evo. To me it has the best action out of anything have ever handled. How much nicer is this F95NL and other knives in this price tier?
Let’s be fair, if you are willing to pay $1k for a knife, $300-400 for the basic tool is affordable, particularly once you buy a second or third. I agree most Shiro jimping is underwhelming/decorative.
Looking at picking up my first shirogorov. If you had to choose would you keep a rosie or the shirogorov? Or it this like oranges to apples. Considering selling my oz mag to pick up one of the shirogorov
Shiro all day. Oz is great but I’ve bought and sold 4 of them. Shiro is on another level imo. I actually like the Hati gen 3 and stellar more than the F95 but they are great too
I really like this And I’d love to own one Just could never justify 1000$ for a knife for myself Maybe if it was a one time purchase in the far future But there is definitely a difference between a company asking a 5-15% premium due to the extra work, and low volume they put into their knives And a literal scam, where you get nothing of value out of the money you spend If this was 700$ I might consider it But then, they would likely not make enough profit to continue making them
I'm in love. BTW, can I borrow a grand MC? I promise to pay it back lol. If you think a knife like this isn't worth a grand, then we have nothing more to say. Have fun with your Gerber, lol
this is absolutely not "easy to take apart and put together." the MRBS system has 50+ loose bearings that are a major pain in the ass to handle and keep together without experience. also never thought i'd see the day when MC would glow over a lanyard hole.
Why would manufacturing in Russia be expensive? It's by many measures a developing country. It's Human Development Index for example is well below Mississippi, the lowest US state.
It's because Shiro makes great knives competing with the best of them. And they price their knives based on the American market not the Russian market. Right or wrong it's what they do
@@chriswebb3018 Not talking about Shiro. I find their designs incredibly boring and would rather have a McNees or an SPK, but I'm sure they're well built. My comment was about Russian manufacturing prices, which are fairly low globally speaking.
Decepcionante. No debe entender usted mucho de navajas. ¿Por qué no nos muestra con detalle como actúa el bloquueo de la hoja?: ¿Liner lock?, ¿Frame lock?. Es uno de los detalles más importantes en una navaja.
Ya... no... it's not that simple and boycotting Russian made pocket knives would make... literally... no difference. To anything. I mean this sincerely, what you're saying is total nonsense.

Great video MC, this might be the best looking knife in your entire collection, IMO ! That inlay with the shiny finish on the flats looks killer

One of the enthusiast that completely gets it.... WOW!!!
That is definitely designed with an artist's eye. It's subtle, but it's there. Really nice, all around.
I love my Ursus Quantum!! It's so sleek and smooth!!

Should have spent that on spelling instruction. I mean, English is my third language and i can still spell "paid"
James... sit down. Nobody cares.

I just did the same thing. Thank goodness for Bladezilla offering some premium stuff to us north of the border

I’ll NEVER own one but some of them, like this one, are really pretty!
On my grail list! What a beauty!

This yearI grabbed the Halloween edition of this. The technocarbo glows in the dark, which is pretty cool
I'm so tempted by one of these but they are SOOO big. Wish Shiro would give the Neon the same attention they give their larger knives. Like the new pivot and a screw in the lock bar insert.
I think it's so cool that as deep as you are in collecting knives, you still take the time to speak directly to new collectors.
Too bad hes an idiot, huh?
I am contemplating my first purchase in this price range. Shiro or Herman??
What do you guys/MC do to enjoy your safe queens? Do you just take them out to look at them? Carry around the house a little bit?

The rosie is gas station trash.
Which is your favorite Shiro?
NL means inlay... f is the model and 95 refers to the millimeter of blade length
But hes a reviewer bro. He knows bro. Duh bro.
Cool knife. I have 1 Shiro but I will get more
I bought 3 this week 😅.
It’s a beautiful knife to be sure. Not really my style. But I do love the blade shape and that it’s naked. And I also love the screws.
I really like this

With every MC video I watch, the price I’m willing to spend on a pocket knife I won’t even use jumps $100 😢
Looks like my Real steel Rokot Premium. For sure a different quality, but for me Rokot is more than enough in all ways

That's true. The bearings aren't fun to deal with. The disassembly itself though is very simple.
@@metal_complex
It’s the reassembly that is a problem
God tier knife
They should include bits for their hardware.
Are the bearings caged?
No. Loose.
Like your videos bro. Make me laugh 😁
I own two shiros and several sebenzas. Have a great day!
Nice
Did he mention how much this one cost??
Yes
@@metal_complex must have missed it
$1100
Pocket clip is annoyingly tight; no go for jeans out of the box.
