Thank you so much for downloading this.
We studied the book in high school, circa 1984-85, and I recall our teacher *raving* about the Richard Briers stage production.
I never ever thought I would actually see this.
    Kudos.

I remember going to see this when I was in the 6th form at school. Richard Briars was brilliant, in fact the entire cast were amazing. I don’t remember much from my school days but I remember this so well.

"Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater"

So this is the star from star trek in younger years playing in one of the finest and funniest farces of the 19th century. No wonder they could give her dialogue longer than the one liners usually heard from exterrestrians. Kudos to all the actors here, and thanks for uploading this gem, I love youtube !

Charming! Richard Briers was excellent in the refugee scene, though he did tend to gabble later on. A nice, relaxing bit of fun for a change.

@@theokirkley Well come to think of it this could be a very good porn movie. You have all the characters right there. Two young girls and a milf and three studs. And one doesn't have to change the plot that much, just throw in the sex scenes. A handsome stranger breaks into a woman's home late at night - hmm? The hot maid fooling around with both the butler and the and another woman's fiance and right in the woman's home. And that clever butler just has to be doing the milf. And they all end up in a honeymoon suite of one of his hotels back in Switzerland. The play was ahead of it's time. Shaw knew what he was doing.

All plays by Bernard Shaw were made to please the public while talking about relevant matters. Some of them became films. The problem sometimes is the adaptation, the film scripts that show no resamblance to the originals.

don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater 👌
in the 16th century. Back then, bathing was not a frequent event. When bath time came around, the entire family would use the same bathwater starting with the father, then the mother, followed by the children from oldest to youngest. By the time the baby was bathed, the water would be so dirty that there was a jesting concern the baby could be accidentally ‘thrown out with the bathwater
