About to do a swap tomorrow. Perhaps just want to keep my interior. Would have to keep my handles for the lock to match my keys, just swap out the interior and remove the wiring from the pillar should be good.
very nice! also when removing the door handle check the IR sensor for bad soldering, its a common issue. I fixed it and no problems with comfort closing/opening anymore.
A good video, but you do not explain the window mechanism refit. I am doing the same as you and this item can be very confusing when it is out! However, I found others also noticed and asked this question so I am happy. I like your idea of the rivet nuts, that is really good! Thank you very much. An Australian RHD Mercedes driver.
Many thanks for taking your time to view and comment! Will do in near future... for the moment I have some lack of time and also the editing laptop needs servicing :D
yes if you fish out the electrical wiring from the pillar.... thing is I didn't bother tracing the wiring after the pillar and see where it goes inside the car... on my previous car, a Ford Focus mk1 you would have found plug and play connector on the pillar which would have allowed you to take the whole door from the hinges with all the internals inside of it. Cheers!
@@jtauscher thanks for commenting! it was just a general explanation... any good 12 volt source (meaning a good working car battery, good working 12 volt motorcycle battery etc...)
Man, this video is such a lifesaver. Thank you so much. Like one of the previous comments asked, what dod you use for the power source to move the window?

@@AlexAndreiZAR Finally the best tutorial I was looking for, congratulations, professional, I just changed the Mercedes 220 fin. I'm not a mechanic. I'm going to change the door. I have it complete and it's the same color. Can't you put it all on just by changing the key? Or do I have to put all the parts from the car to the spare one? I guess if not? Why would everything be through switchboards?
My original door is broken and I asked you if, without touching anything, I can put the one from the scrapyard that still has all the accessories. Or do I have to transfer the things from the original to the scrapyard wing, does anything happen if I put the complete scrapyard one just adding the cylinder head? or can you see problems in the switchboard? It's just that I haven't understood him. In order not to work so much, I mean, or I have to transfer the wiring and installation from one to the other, everything is kept by the scrapyard, I repeat.
Sorry if I missed it (or I think it was not shown), but was your window regulator also held on with rivets? And did you just use screws when re-fitting the regulator in the new door?
Hi! Yes, everything is held in rivets if it is original. Indeed, I used screws with washers and nuts to fix everything in place. You can use rivets if you want when reinstalling. Cheers!
If your car has rust on its doors, then yes, you have to do all this. In the end for best fitment the door hinges on A and B pillars were slightly adjusted. The adjustment was done by a professional from a body shop (you can do it yourself but it is hard to be done by just one person). Thanks for watching and commenting. Wish you good luck!
@@AlexAndreiZAR Well - you were wrong Alex. Only electrical component I had to change was the "Connector" (2:59 in your video). And to avoid possible issues, I also re-installed my original Airbag. @dominickhuntley6425 you can take the whole door off if you detach the electrical connectors from the A Pillar or B pillar (for rear door) and remove the door hinge screws. Good luck.
The best tutorial ever. Keep adding that quality job.
Thank you!

Most of this applies to the W204 as well - very useful.

Can i just remove the door from the hinges with everything still intact without removing anything else?

Hello what are they things you used to move the window up? i know it was connected to a battery charger but what are the two prods called?
@@Chinky-fp7vt they are electrical leads from a multi meter
What is power device tool that you use to power the window to go up at 3:45?
Hi. Sorry for late reply. It is a car battery charger. Any 12 volt source will do.

Ok, next hurdle. What did you do to unlatch the mirror housing? Also what size bolts are those that hold it in place?
