hey there! i wish i could help you but honestly speaking, being a vet tech is WAY different from being a vet 😭 so i don't think i can offer anything valuable, at least for the academic side of things. lol! one thing i would highly recommend for you, though, is to work at a vet clinic as an intern or volunteer. the best thing you can do for yourself right now is to immerse yourself in the industry to truly experience it first-hand :) it's a great way to observe what a vet does in a day, so that you can figure out if it's something you want to pursue as a career 😁 it'll also help you build connections (and your portfolio!) that could be helpful in the future! other than that, i would just like to encourage you to continue seeking out opportunities to know more about what it takes to be a vet. if there's anything i've learnt about the vet industry, it's that it truly is a tough job that requires an immense amount of strength: both physically and mentally. nonetheless, don't let it scare you away from doing what you want to do. just remember that being a vet is truly one of the most respectful and rewarding careers anyone can ever pursue :) i wish you all the very best in your studies!

hey so sorry for the late reply!! to make it simple, a veterinarian is the equivalent to a doctor in a hospital :) you need to obtain a phd in vet med to be a veterinarian. a vet tech is kinda like a nurse, but like a level higher i guess? we're responsible for basically everything, except doing surgery, diagnosing patients, and administering medications. the "requirements" to be a vet tech is honestly pretty blurry (at least in singapore's vet industry) but most vet techs have diplomas, like myself :) hope this helps!!

@@furryobtusewindow hey there! thank you so much for your comment! 🫶 i think it's awesome that you have so many dreams and aspirations. it's good to have a wide variety of interests especially at your age! anyway, honestly, ive been there before... being young and wondering what i'll pursue as an adult in the future. it truly is a daunting thought, especially with the added pressure of expectations from family, parents, and maybe even society as a whole :/ so i totally understand where you're coming from- fearing that you'll choose the wrong career pathway and regret it :') however, i want to assure you that there's absolutely NO pressure for you to choose "the right career", especially since you're still a young student with zero industry experience! my best advice to you is to take these few years to really explore what you want to do. volunteer, attend career roadshows, workshops, and talk to adults about their careers. your aunt would be a good start for this- ask her about her experience as a vet tech! im sure she would be more than happy to share some insights that could be useful for you :) plus, at least in my country, there are TONS of workshops and talks for youths interested in being a pilot, mainly by the military air force. start with those first and expand from there :) also, please don't worry about choosing the "wrong" career and regretting it in the future! you'd be surprised just how normal it is to make a mid-career switch as an adult. everyone's just trying to find what they like best, and it's okay if you take a little while longer to figure it out 🫶 just be sure to do thorough research on anything you're interested in doing, and remember to keep asking questions. adults are generally very happy to answer any questions you have, since they would want to help you out too :) i wish you all the best in figuring out what your passion is! and remember, this is YOUR journey and there's nothing wrong with making mistakes or regretting decisions, because you'll get back up with more knowledge than ever 💪😤🔥
