This video needs to be higher up in popularity. It's highly informative but succinct. Every new AtlA Legends player should watch this.

This is an insanely well done video that needs more views. I just found out about this game yesterday and no one has covered this topic as well as you. I am so excited to play this game! Thanks for the great work!

I was gifted this game for christmas! Super excited to play. Your review is so in depth it's actually clarified a few areas that after reading the core book were still confusing to me.

I've watched quite a few videos on how to play this game.
But you video is by far the most informative and easy to digest.
    Thank you, friend! 🙏👍

Excellent description! I’ve played a lot of Dnd, but excited about the avatar world. It’s hard for me to comprehend the concept of no hps, but I think I’m finally starting to understand the system. Thanks 🙏

Nice. i avoided the KS because a, most licensed rpgs only scratch the surface of what the world shows in its media, and b, i had pledged to way too many KS campaigns at the time. Now that i see it on store shelves (friggin target had a copy of the starter set) i'm very pleased with what i'm hearing. it sounds like it understands its origins and plays to its strengths while actually having some mechanical depth and feeling like a ROLE playing game, not a ROLL playing game. my bundle is on the way.

I get the feeling of having this weight of past KS pledges hanging over you when you’re looking at a new one. At least it serves as a counterbalance to the fear of missing out that can lead us to purchases we later regret.

While i like several elements of this game, i dont think it's for me or my table. This game just feels really boxed in. It feels like you don't have much verity when it comes to how you can interact with the game. I'm not really sure who this game is for? Because it seems to be aimed at a younger audience. However, the combat mechanics seem too complicated for them. The game also seems like it doesn’t want you to even fight. I think it's for older fans who want to relive the show through ttrpgs....
Great video, thanks for saving me some cash.

Super well done. About to run the starter box for my group and this is a nice primer. I might make them all watch it.

    Great video, very informative
Having said that, this is not what I was expecting... Or looking for. I did want the classes to be firebender, waterbender, etc. I did want to reduce opponents hit points to zero. Meh

Man, I wish I liked this system as much as I liked the show. My group is much closer to a wargame group than a true RP group, so coming from DnD, Deadlands, and Edge of the Empire, the fact that the system sort of blended and homogenized the way fighting and damage worked just didn’t get our group excited. Still trying it because we love to support local, small devs, but I can’t wait for them to add some more advanced combat mechanics or something.

Within 10 minutes of reading the starter set rulebook, I started calling this "Character Development: The Roleplaying Game" to my wife. I love that every little action is driven by the question of "How would my character react to this situation".

Have you had a chance to play it yet?

Yes, I’ve played through Magpie’s community play program, which organizes (paid) online games with selected GMs, for Avatar and their other RPGs.

Is there a solo, or a 2 player game option; if not do you have a suggestion if this is possible.

    • @strangeassembly5595
      @strangeassembly5595  Рік тому

There isn’t any specific option for low/solo player counts. Some of the mechanics require another PC, but the GM could create a ‘party’ NPC to use with those. You can’t choose playbook connections without other characters, but that isn’t mechanical in the same way. I think it would mostly be about how the GM has to adjust the level of PC-NPC interaction to compensate for there being fewer and less complicated PC relationships.
