Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) taught at the Paris Conservatoire for 36 years between 1912 an 1948. Tournier had a second career as a composer, specializing in harp pieces. His work "Etude de concert (Au Matin)" subordinates technique to poetic expressiveness. In the morning the mists of the night are dissipated and absorbed by the glorious rays of the sun.
