Ahhh.... Messing with my head! I, IV, V... I was actually confused. My problem, along with my general personality, is I fail at the shuffle. I know what I want and I am blues shuffle challenged. Good news is if I go back to college I get an extra half hour on tests
It might be helpful if you briefly told people why the 4 chord is on the 5th fret and the 5 chord is on the 7th fret. (and not the 4 chord on the 4th fret, and the 5 chord on the 5th fret). I think there are a lot of people who don't know music theory and this mismatch should be cleared up for them.
Del, I have tried to play guitar on and off for 50 years, I have no musical talent at all , I make CBG's and love it, But playing the things is a no go .lol. , I can play a noodle , and it sounds good to me , BUT other people would not agree. But i enjoy your vids .. Thanks..
Great video, and I think I'm sneaking up on actually understanding this...but, once more for the geriatric set- is the 1 chord the base chord of the key you're playing in? And does that make the 4 and 5 chords respectively 4 and 5 whole steps up the scale from the 1? Any lifeline appreciated! Many thanks for your patience.
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar thank you sir for the much appreciated explanatory reply! All are helpful, the 12 bar blues box especially! Saving up for an authentic Puckett...
Dumber than a box of rocks....looking over all my cheat sheets from ur videos and other info I have gathered I still don’t understand what the 4th chord is, why it is on the 5th fret and why it’s label A. E is the root so isn’t it E, F, F#, G, G#? aaannnndd why is it that when u are playing the root, 1, that u fretted the 2 fret......love ur videos even if I don’t understand all of them!!!!
Ok, went back over ur Universal Chord Progression and I see where the 4 chord is on the the 5th fret and the 5 chord is on the 7th fret but I still have to say I don’t understand ALL this information u give us. It just seem overwhelming, Harmonic minor, diminished scale or augmented scale; Arpeggios, major or minor; Whole steps, half steps major minor; Universal Chord 1-5-6-4....I’m in a nightmare......
Three chords and the truth. Great lesson. Thanks for sharing!
The blues box makes sense now, groovy man thanks captain.

I love the blues, so American 🇺🇸 so badass just like del
Don’t know what you are talking about but I’m mesmerised anyway.
