these predictions are as accurate as Neil Ferguson's Covid deaths predictions....
Yep, these predictions are all based on models and we've seen from COVID the experts are worse at modelling than a fat lass from Scunny.
When she said she was 27 it genuinely surprised me.
@@TheEducator89 the UK predicted "maybe 40,000" deaths from covid... We're in the 100,000's.... By your logic, our scientific models aren't extreme enough and under-predict the outcomes.
Models are very good at predicting factual outcomes to inputs - what they aren't good at is predicting human behaviour.
The idea of 40,000 deaths was based on the assumption that the population (and the government!) Would take the threat to life seriously, self isolate, wear masks, not go around spitting on people.... Etc.
However the population as a whole, and the UK government, didn't react responsibly, in the fashion scientists suggested, and so we have more than 3 times the number of deaths predicted.
The same is happening with climate change, models predict huge numbers of deaths if we don't act reasonably now.... However time and time again we have shown that we're unwilling to take necessary action, and so the actual outcome will likely be worse than that predicted by models.... Infact scientists have started modeling these outcomes, and these outcomes are held to be most likely by the scientific community....
Then you go further, and scientists have modelled worst case scenario out comes, leading to scientific papers such as Jim Bendalls deep adaptation paper.
Either we stop saying they're all crazy, and actually act on climate change, or we look like absolute morons when their "crazy" predictions come true.

They don’t realize how delicate economic balances can be. I know about these things- I installed a geothermal heating/filling system in 2006. I dealt with an inept municipal bureaucracy who pretended to support these things but could not work out the permits. It took weeks of my own time.

And almost certainly she doesn't know that those reports are all based on models, very speculative models. Very like the models that forecast 2 million COVID deaths and 200,000 cases per day this coming winter. And we can all see how wrong those models are.
I saw reports of their disruption and it seemed like they wanted to insulate Britain from immigration and etc. I saw weeks more reports. Finally I saw a reference to insulating buildings. - actually the western lifestyle is high energy and carbon intensive. Opposing UK population increases would benefit their global warming cause.

@@jennifermccarthy6733 where I live we are off the gas network so many use night-time electricity to heat their houses. in 2002 the cost was 2.37p/unit; today it has just gone up to 15p/unit. the reason is because we do not use the cheapest source generation which is coal + subsidies to pay for windmills which don't always work. how do you expect the poor to pay 700% more for their heating? please answer me that. i don't use my night-storage heaters anymore; instead wear 7 jumpers and two wolley hats and 3 pairs of woolley socks when the freeze sets in, and three pairs or woolley trousers. my house stinks of mildew. i have cold showers in the mornings 2 out of every three days. you get used to it in the end. i never had central heating growing up so can cope. it has nothing whatsoever to do with insulation. do you receive an income from climate funding btw? and stop scaring our children with your nonsense please. i will happily debate you on any question of the science and easily prove to you this is all utter irrational ignorant hysteria you are peddling. sorry for the rant.

Everything about Gabby in this interview gives me the impression of a petrified, isolated and brainwashed adolescent who's clearly out of her depth in this reality check she's receiving.

I live in a 300 yr old stone cottage with oak frame………my loft is minimally insulated and well ventilated. If we were to fully insulate the loft and use cavity wall insulation the house would not be able to breathe…the wood would dampen with condensation and woodworm would take over. My house would be falling down in 5 years!

@@dsyph3r in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter if her own property is insulated , we don't know if she can afford it for a start. If the government listen to the protesters and start to insulate property to save lives and the enviro doesn't that matter the most ? It would be hypocritical is she was telling the public to insulate their own homes but she is trying to tell the government ! (The way they are going about it is stupid imo but the fact that their own home is possibly not insulated should not matter) obviously my opinion but what are your thoughts ?

Insulation your home completely can have serious problems. It would be like living in a bubble. Bacteria would form like never seen before. Air quality would be very low. Once you step outside you would pick up disease quicker more cold and flues. Plus what Bacteria you have in you home would now be loose on others and form into something more dangerous. You need a flow of outside air flowing through you home all the time. I think Insulation gone to far is dangerous for all. Climate will change with time and has done for millions of years.

Have you not read the Sun's IPCC report on climate change? Nor the the UK government's CCC report on how we aren't doing enough to meet our legally binding targets, and how those targets aren't sufficient anyway?
This is a fear that clearly 99% of people are too uneducated, or too infatuated with denial, to hold. And that's why we (as a species) aren't taking sufficient action to avoid making large swathes of our planet "incompatible with human life"

Carbon offsetting is something I'm not convinced by - there are a lot of issues, and it seems a bit of a cop out to say, "here, have some money (which we stole from you in the first place) and plant some trees, and create some peat bogland, because we want to do something else with our land.
The clue is ...I'm absolutely terrified." Psychologists know that when the brain is in such a fearful mood REASON FLIES OUT OF THE WINDOW!!
