    Being American, I love that you guys are getting into the sport. Like the Uber driver said, sports is for everyone regardless of your race, color, ethnicity, religion or background. People just call it American football to distinguish it from soccer because people in Europe calls soccer football.

      Just call it gridiron, that's the real name of the sport. Nfl tries to cash in on American patriotism. Its not a bad thing but might make some players feel excluded

      We play football in Canada too. You don't have ownership of the sport. We invented it 1861, eight years before the first recorded game in the US at McGill University in Montreal

      @@Ms2centsTry the americanfootballdatabase.fandom.com, CBC.ca, thecanadianencyclopedia,ca. The game was played at the University of Toronto, it was born from Rugby. BTW, Babe Ruth hit his first professional home run in Toronto also, Thank Canada for giving the world Hockey, Basketball, Gridiron Football and the Telephone and Insulin

      you guys have the BAFA which kicks off in a few weeks, the London Warriors were last years Premier League Champions, the game was actually broadcast on national tv (according to the announcers, I watched it on youtube) so its there man, its just getting to the semi-pro level. When I watched the BAFA 5 years ago it was def an amateur league, but I gotta say that the 2019 BAFA premier championship game was one of the best games I've ever seen and the level of play was really good, there was even back to back successful onside kick recoveries by one team, i've literally never seen that happen in my life in the hundreds (or thousands) of games I've watched

    The big issue in America is concussions. It's changing the game. As a spectator, I miss the big vicious hits, but the players long term well being is being considered now. I wonder how player safety is being dealt with in the UK.

      it take 3h30min to watch a 60min game ( more than 5 hours for the superbowl ) if the official time is 1 hour for a regular NFL game , what i 'm watching during 2h30min ?

    • @Liamhannam
      @Liamhannam 7 років тому +2

      Jack Siong It completely depends on what happens in the game, if it's a fast paced high scoring game with majority of passing plays then it's a much quicker game. If the game is drab and not much action and more running plays/injuries then they play adverts whenever they can, meaning it's a longer game. That's just how it is, you can't say "oh it only takes 2 minutes to pot a few balls in golf", no, it can be quick or very long.

      NFL can be the n°1 sport worldwide if
      1. They put less commercial break ( 1 half time break is enough )
      2 . They reduce the time recover after every tackles to 15 seconds ( to make the game faster like in NRL )
      But everybody knows it will never happens because thoses fat linemen don't have enough stamina, so that's why i'm stick into rugby union or NRL
      To be honest we love NFL we just don't like to watch it ( it's way too long ) but it's more fun to play it

      No thanks. It's American Football. If you've got something different, or better, or with a spin on it, then bring it. But DON'T ask us to forsake our name/origin/love just for your desire to possess it.

      Kit McIntosh what if Americans used the metric system? What would it be? Lol (said by a football fan)

    • @maninredhelm
      @maninredhelm 7 років тому +1

      Kit McIntosh The "foot long" thing is an oft-repeated myth. The more likely explanation is that all football codes were distinguished by being played by footmen as opposed to men on horseback, which would be more typical of the wealthy types who could afford indulging in sporting leisures back in those times. Once the industrial revolution was complete, societal shifts made it easier for the lower-to-middle classes to gather for organized sports, even if they still couldn't afford sporting horses. Whereupon all forms of football (soccer, rugby, canadian, american, australian, etc) began to rise, more or less simultaneously.
